At least they didn't drag this out any longer than necessary. 

i'm actually pretty happy with Tom Aldred signing,  very experience player and at 28 has a lot to offer.  Defense was our weakest area of the game last 2 seasons so hopefully we can get some consistency

Me too, I said so much in another thread. Aldred looks decent enough in a position that won't require silky skills.

Aaron Amadi-Holloway just announced

Now the waiting game to see if he will be another Bes or another Issey, I can't really see him falling in between

With all the crap he's copping in the other thread and the Shrewsburry supporters forum, he's now become my new favorite player (until the season starts).

Maybe he'll be another Mensur Kurtishi. 

What a depressing signing that was.

I watched some shit posting on a Jets forum last night - apparently ROD is the worst striker ever, missed more than he scored and is a total “trash can”. They’re glad to be rid of him.... we should rip up his contract immediately, we’ve been sold a pup 😂

Remember he got that first goal at Perth and then couldn’t hit a barn door. Not quite our worst signing, but close. 

Reading the announcement again,it is more clear that Holloway is not being signed as a striker.So all the negativity is premature.
It says he is versatile.So who really knows where he will play.
The Shewsbury fans only saw him play as a striker in a front two.Three goals and three assists.If he can accurately pass a ball in the front third  ,that would be a bonus on last year.

There are now journalists taking to twitter to complain that Roar could just announce all the signings at once.

The roar release or player signings described him as a forward. Also he played almost every game as a CF last season. Most likely, as stated, he’ll be a hold up player focused on bringing the other attackers into play.

With the rumoured signings and current squad

Benching Wenzell-Halls for Amadi would be a tragedy. 

Like it. A couple of thoughts:

- I don’t think Bowles will be getting a look in this season. Recon he blotted his copy book last year. 

- I also don’t think he’ll play wing-backs out wide (Neville/OT), I recon he’ll play with two 6’s instead 

so based on what we think we know:

Young;
Neville, Aldred, New CB;
New, Inman, Holloway, O’Neill, New;
ROD, DWH 

If the last visa spot isnt O'Shay ,you would think it would have to go to an experienced  midfielder .Thats the glaring gap at the moment and whats missing for that strong spine.

David Pourre saying “no one has guessed this third name” ... so maybe a surprise (I know he reads these pages occasionally) 

So its John Terry?

Wouldn't mind this if the Neville rumour was not correct and the Australian defender was a good CB. 
Would also be a big shame to see Mauk on the bench.

The good thing about these signings is that there should be plenty of money left for whatever other signings we have to make. 

 Not the worst. There was some weird story around him - if I recall, Mulvey liked the look of him on video but wanted a trial. The club then said ‘no, we can’t afford one, you sign him or leave him’. He then signed and was a dud. Or maybe I’m remembering incorrectly haha but I did see something like that.

Happy with all the signings so far. Amadi-Holloway is the most average on paper but who knows how he’ll really go. Clearly Fowler has a plan.

Roar are keeping the forums and twitter ticking over this week , with 4 more signings to come .

This could be genius from Fowler or he could be getting it ask very wrong underestimating the league. 

Holloway's highlights show him being a big strong player. With Roy and him up front we are going for a very combative forward line. Halloway kind of reminds me of berisha on the ball. He looks a bit awkward but refund the ball through fight and strength. I'm amazed that apparently we payed a transfer fee for him.

Gellesphy is interesting. Young and has a decent youth pedigree but hadn't been tested in a high league in seniors yet. Interesting they he would want to come here so young

i quite like that line up (assuming these signings are above average for the league). i would still feel more confident if we had a better cb than bowles as starter
