Apparently, Wade batted very well.

I would have thought it was a good idea to play 3 and 4 day games if Australia A is preparing to play Test cricket.

Much as I’m surprisingly enjoying the One Day manifestation of the World Cup, I’m really looking forward to the Ashes.

Agree.  But at least there are three four day matches after these one dayers KW.

Mitch Marsh also had a good all round game.. wickets and runs.

Wade is in career best form. An outside chance for an Ashes squad berth.

g'day grazor.

Agree about Pattinson being in our Test attack but with Cummins and Hazlewood. We need the steady armory of Hazlewood when there is nothing in the deck for the express men.

Our boys decimated Derbyshire in the second game with Wade again the star. This bloke has hit another stratosphere since being dumped from the Test team and heading back to Tassie as a batsman only.

I think he originally returned to Tassie as the Test keeper.

He has played as keeper for Tas when Paine hasn’t been available.

That has been most of the time.

I recall he was dumped well before his Tassie return.. may be wrong. Did he keep for the Tigers in shield last year?

Short has to go. Why are Patterson and Pucovski batting at #6 & #7? I would have Pucovski opening, Patterson at #3, Head, Handscomb then Marsh.

I've read in the Murdoch press that if Australia wins the World Cup, Carey will be kept as reserve wicketkeeper for the Ashes series.

Strange logic for someone not being evaluated as a performer in FC cricket as an Ashes tourist.

I have not seen all his keeping in the World Cup, but I've seen a few cast aspersions about his glove work.

Given Wade is batting so well, as prospective keepers what are the comparative strengths and weaknesses of Carey's and Wade's glove work?

Reason being Carey is regarded as the second best gloveman in Australia. I dispute that as Whiteman is my #2.

The fact is DC, you should always choose your best keeper for Test cricket. Wade's glovework is not test standard.. Remember Wade is getting his current runs on roads against second rate bowling. They have been feeding his strengths.

Certain.

Like I say he impressed me and CA why not the TCA? I have to say that importing quicks from other states when you have fine bowlers such as Lees sends the wrong message. Frankly it sucks.

Marnus Labuchagne has not been twiddling his thumps while in England in the off season. Far from it and CA will be taking note.
With 851 runs @65.46, the talented Qlander tops the run charts in Div 2 for Welsh side Glamorgan plus has chipped in with the ball with 13 wickets at @34.37 with his under rated leggies.

Mat Renshaw can not buy a run for Kent and has been dropped. Seems to have lost all confidence.
