+xUnlike many - I love ODI cricket. I'm not a total purist.
I don't like 20/20 anymore, but One Day grew on me in the WC with new rules that forces fielders closer to the bat for longer in the game. In the Aus/England Test for women, and at Edgbaston, I'm loving attacking fields again with close catchers around the bat.

But I still like it. BUt I love test cricket in England. ODI is possibly my favourite. But test cricket runs a close second. t20 my least favourite, but I still like it.

+xHead looks good here. Job done. Selection justified so far... Surprisingly, he has looked the most assured Aussie batter, albeit facing easier bowling. Spoke too soon - Head out LBW! Local Tassie boy Wade comes in to bat. He attended the same school where I taught - same as Paine!

How good is Smudger. Doesnt even duck the short ball. Moves inside it despite being square on in front of his stumps. At 84 mph. I wish I had his hand eye.
That's not just freakish skill, its freakish confidence in your eye.

+x+x+x+x+xI think the England batting is underestimated. Roy, Butler, Bairstow, Stokes Ali and Woakes are all inconsistent but can win a match off the bat on their day. Only need 1-2 to really stand up and make a big score if Root sticks around to get somewhere England desperately try to find 600 to 700 runs a game to win the game. They do this by batting deep. Ali and Woakes will bat 8 and 9. Their top order has been a shambles for a long time. Noone really knows what Burns, Roy or Denly are capable of, cos they have played a handful of tests between them, and even less in England itself. Great to see you back, Paddles. Love your input, mate. Since you were last here, I've caught up with Baggers in Sydney. I made him drink a lot craft beers he hadn't had before! Hey Fella. Sounds like good times. I enjoy you both. I'll be around on here and GP for the Ashes both. :) Good day, Paddles. We haven’t seen you for a while. Good to have you back old son. Yeh g'day paddles. Smith again digging us out of a hole.

Funny for Smith to be batting with Paine, who has replaced him as captain.

Total underrated legend of the game.

Why is Ali bowling over the wicket to Smudger?
Smudger will eat this up...
Bowl over to him outside off....

+xnot paine's finest moment there Awful shot to a poor ball that gets Paine out. The Aus bowlers won’t have many runs to defend. Review showed Pattinson NO to a LBW that we didn’t review. 7-112.
