What the actual fuck. Even from the FFAs out of touch point of view this is beyond daft. Sydney FCs game at Edensor park back in 2014 was amazing.

Yeah, flood damage to the pitch. The whole thing has to be replaced apparently

I don't know enough of the details but a surface was considered good enough for the NPL, it should be good enough for the A-League. A risk to players should be considered the same regardless of how much they are paid.

From the sounds of it Edensor Park is not up to standard at the moment due to damage to the surface that will not be properly fixed until after the match. Incorrect. A bit of history in regards to the pitch, it was installed 2013 and since then have played 7 seasons on it. The past couple of years have seen a lot of games been played on the field, United, Mounites Wanderers and WSW youth who all hire it out, and that does not include SAP, youth teams and local schools. late last year there was massive floods that fuked with the drainage, now that was all rectified before the 2019 season in patches were it was really damaged, however due to insurance reasons, we only got approval to lay a complete new pitch end of 2019. Now what i dont get is, the pitch is good enough for the NPL competitions, and also go approval for the FFA cup against other NPL clubs, but not HAL? thats the joke. Would of been a nice fairy-tale ending to play WSW at a sold out Edensor Park before new turf is laid. Now you'll be lucky to get 5k at campelltown

Did Sam Krslovic have anything to do with having the game played at Campbelltown? If it had to be moved away from Edensor wouldn’t BankWest be a better option since Sydney United have used Parramatta as a home ground before.

No doubt it's only at campbelltown because of his macarthur connection, probably less hiring fee or something would be my guess. bankwest is Wanderers home ground, so no, it wouldnt of been there.

+x+xKnights fans booed Nikola Mileusnic due to his Serbian heritage. https://indaily.com.au/opinion/2019/08/08/stench-of-bigotry-sours-ffa-cup/This is scummy behaviour but the sad thing is, I'm not surprised. The Knights fans seem to engage in racist behaviour often and the sad part is that MKFC seems to do nothing about it which would imply that the club is complicit with this behaviour. The Melbourne Knights should be barred from ever entering the HAL or a second division until they stop the racist behaviour done by their fans. Wtf is this overreaction? Some no-name writes an article on a no-name website about a handful of fans (out of 4000) supposedly booing a player with (zero supporting evidence beyond hearsay) and you support turfing them from a second division? Apply some critical thinking skills and don't believe everything you read, Jesus Christ. It is definitely worth mentioning that the author of that article isn't really a journalist of any sort of description or note. He used to be one of the hosts of an amateur Saturday morning football radio show in Adelaide. To be fair, the Indaily isn't actually too bad as an independent news website, but Spiro (the author) got given the gig because his mate Paul (who was also a regular host on the show) used to write a weekly article about Adelaide United. When he took a job with the FFSA, Spiro took over his role at the Indaily. I generally just disagree with a lot of what he writes. If there's any truth to Nikola being targeted because of his ethnicity, then that's very poor form and if there's proof, the fans responsible should rightly be punished. But I would definitely take that article with a huge grain of salt.

If this person heard boos and automatically thought that it was racism, when in fact it was just booing an opponent, then the writer comes off as a racist against Croatians. Automatically thinking Croatian Australians are racist is racist in itself.

There was no booing from knights fans in the stadium section far as I could hear. If there was it would have been mcf on the other side but again all hearsay.

+x+xStill not convinced 'booing' is racist - if anything society has become to PC and there are too many soft SJW wanks out there Stop pretending to be so naive. NOBODY said booing is racist. If he was getting booed for being Serbian and no other reason then yes, its racism. Whether Serbian/Croatian are seperate "races' is just wordplay semantics (All humans are of the same "race", we just belong to vastly different ethnicities). Yep spot on. But it really comes down to whether or not he was booed because he's Serbian (or if he was even booed at all), or because he's a player in an opposition team and fans are trying to rattle him. I tend to think the latter, as there's been no evidence (other than very unreliable anecdotal evidence) to suggest otherwise.

I would confidently bet my house on it that if Sydney United would have drawn CCM or someone similar where a huge crowd isn't expected, they would have allowed Sydney United to play the game at home.
I don't buy their stupid lie about the pitch not being safe enough to play on, when it is deemed safe enough for other players in the premier league.
I bet anyone it had more to do with idiots in FFA fearing there could be crowd trouble at a packed out Edensor Park.
The FFA were given the perfect gift by the luck of the draw and they managed to fuck it up. And what's worse is in future they'll most likely approve a worse surface for an A-league game just like they've done many times in the past.
You have to feel sorry for Sydney United who would have had such a good deal to play at home where they could have made a very healthy profit. Instead they'll now have to pay more money to hire Campbelltown and bring in much less revenue compared with a home game at Edensor Park.

Not really, Edensor has been fine for previous FFA Cup games with HAL teams they probably just don't want to risk some WSW player doing his ACL on it. Remember when Antonis got injured at the SCG? Now imagine that at Edensor, slightly bigger headline if Schwegler is out for the season compared to some panel beater from Rockdale

Fair enough; but you could argue that Campbelltown if of sorta Wanderers home away from home and that the new Parramatta Stadium is “home” for them yet. Either way it’s a moot point and the fact it was suitable for other NPL clubs to play on but not A-League ruins what would’ve been a fantastic night at Edensor.

What's your opinion on the fines FFV gave MK in June? Do you deny this happens at games or just questioning and want proof that it happened at this particular FFA cup game? For what it's worth i dnt really care haha and think this discussion has no place in the FFA cup thread. Leave it for some other thread.
