+x+xWhat if he gives him out co-sign the context of the game, even though he thinks he’s not out.., then replay shows he’s not out as the ump originally thought but Aussies lose review cos the ump thought it right to do in context... then the next ball hes given not out when he is but we wasted review on a contectbof the game decision???.... but bit bit bit but... Funny thing is I don’t think many get that that was actually Vaughn’s way of rubbing salt... Vaughan was only saying that because there was one review left and one run to tie and it was maybe a game deciding decision. Give me a break it happens in nearly every try in the NRL. Takes the pressure off the umpire in a game deciding decision. Simple fact is there was one review available to the Poms. If no reviews available it does not matter. DRS is being used whether you like it or not. You can’t have different decisions for the same ball... and next game/time thecgavts will vary... And again I’ll say a dud one with 100 to win and two wickets is no different than 1 to win with 1 wicket if it costs a team the game... Have said I’m happy with DRS the way it is except for ‘umpires call’... but won’t accept it should be used based on context...

+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+xWhen did Marki say the Aussies were certainties?? Actually I never did. But I reckon the aussie team must be filled with Parra and Dragons supporters given the way they choked. This kind of result will have a devastating effect on future games as the aussies will go in their shells thinking no less than 450 run chase is needed to bowl a team out. It will cost them wins. What they SHOULD think of is that poor strategy and execution on their behalf couple with brilliance from Stokes and abit of luck brought this result. It's not common but shows that if a team batting 4th treats the chase as a 1 dater, they are more likely to reach it rather than sit back and try to defend themselves to a draw or reach the target. Well done to England. It's now game on. MItch Starc should have been in the team only if to counter Archer's speed and intimidation. There was plenty of intimidation factor between patto and cummo... what we lacked was smarts, and Starcs yorkers when Stokes was teeing off on everything fullbto just short of a length... Paines bowling changes and fields were questionable at best for the entire innings... His inability to get his quicks bowling tight during the first 10 overs of new ball poor at best... Langer should also have got them a message.., The diabolical review cost us dearly... we have a history of dud reviews, but it was plain stupid... it was never out... The dropped catches and missed run out not far behind... Ok calm down Clint Gutherson.... Both captains fekked up with utilising their reviews during the test.... we had 1 wicket to take, Eng still needed over 50 runs.... Stokes just absolutely nailed it And..... Leave Tim Paine out of this.... you just want to move in onto his beautiful munaki he’s got I'm with Dman... Paine needs Smith out there advising him.. We failed to sum up conditions bowl accordingly and play smart.... Then there are the bowling changes.... and general under use of the Goat before / after the new ball.. Good captains are like good refs, you barely notice them.... Great captains have a knack of getting a wicket when they most need it via an unorthodox method..... Collectively we failed in a few areas, and lost a close game, without our best player, overall I still think we are the better team in all conditions The umpiring was crap yet again. . https://www.nzherald.co.nz/sport/news/article.cfm?c_id=4&objectid=12262076 Was a poor decision pommie review left over or not... Though last thing I want is some pommie bastard making excuses for us... The other thing I don’t like about the article, or more in particular what Vaughn said is Umpires should be making decisions on what they (think they) see and think, not the game situation or how many reviews a team have left... But isn't it the way of using technology as in the NRL, SOCCER, NFL with refs using the bunker. At least the NRL referees agree with Vaughan and put up TRY and let the bunker decide the real outcome. Wilson had to decide if the bat was involved or how much it hit the front pad and deviated to the back pad. BTW there is conjecture whether the tracking took into account the deviation off the front pad. Like the commentators were saying the ball only hit the back pad. I think the refs call in NRL is a joke too, it’s a guess at least 50% of the time it’s a guess... and for mine it’s complex different as there’s no captains call or losing a review... NRL should just send every decision to the bunker (we know every dogs try does) but we can’t do that with cricket, we’d get 12 overs bowled in a day... Re Jo-els decision, in spite of the fact he got it wrong I’ll back that he gave benefit of the doubt... Which is part of the fabric of the game... Im not sure whose desire it was to get every decision 100% correct... oh wait yes I do... gamblers and betting agencies... and in spite of the tech the howlers still occur... If the DRS (ball tracking and snicks in this instance) can’t pick up a deviation off the front pad then we are at least equal to no tech if not further behind... I'm curious.... LBW is based on first contact of the ball. So why on earth do you need to worry about deviation? Because some people think that contact (which was the front pad) may have been going down leg side. Some commentators said at the time that the ball hit his back pad therefore making at a plumb LBW. What comms said no difference to ball tracking DRS... But if Jo-el saw it hit front pad and thought it going down leg, then justifies his decision... And would have shut everyone up. Yeah starting with Vaughan and people that think it a good idea for umpires to make a call based on varying contexts without accepting the variables make the right call impossible...

And that’s how it should be,.. the umpire shouldn’t be deciding when we need to use or potentially waste a review based on context... Id be horrified if the Aussies were focusing on the whole review thing and I doubt they are... though will be hard to put the demons of the other moments that really cost us behind them... Langer, the skipper, and the team psych have their work cut out this week.::

Perhaps the duckvaughinis system should be implemented to decide when an ump makes a context call... 1 wicket 1 run 1 review remaining both sides... 2 wickets no greater than 35 runs 1 review remaining both sides... 3 wickets 65 runs 1 review for batting team, no reviews for bowling team but with less than 12 overs remaining.., 4 wickets 102 runs with greater than 12 but less than 18 overs and Fading light... 5 wickets with greater than 102 runs but less than 156 runs with no more than 30 overs remaining, with a ball that’s swinging when pitched full but is not turning for the part time spinner, and a square leg and backward square leg... Any decision with 2 reviews for both sides... umpire can sit in stands and refer all appeals to DRS...

The reserve grade side looks a bit weak this week, Okunbor promoted, Wakeham, Averillo and Doorey out injured.
Lichaa not listed in any grade or listed injured, must be injured, or perhaps has left the club...

Not sure why they didn't mention that in the injury report.

Sadly in every given generation of Bulldogs there will always be a whipping boy and in the current one, most unfairly imo, is Michael Lichaa. Always tops the tackle count but sadly (again) his attack hasn't worked out. Personally I wish him well in his future endeavours.

Is the massive story on TK about Api the one which you shared the details of in your previous post???... I’m all for Scott, Aitken has had an ordinary 18 months but is a decent footy player who a change of club might help... Bit of a ball hog though...

Is the massive story on TK about Api the one which you shared the details of in your previous post???... I’m all for Scott, Aitken has had an ordinary 18 months but is a decent footy player who a change of club might help... Bit of a ball hog though... We shouldn't be looking at Aitkin...he is no better than what we have. Agree... I’d prefer that change wasn’t to our club... Hoppa is twice the player over the last two seasons... Smith would see no ball with Aitken inside him... Dman, you're disgusting! Why is it every Greek male I've ever encountered always talks frequently about homosexuality?

I'm going to trust the clubs judgement on Api as they have got most signings right so far.
Fully fit Api would be our first choice hooker and JMK is progressing.

+xI'm going to trust the clubs judgement on Api as they have got most signings right so far. Fully fit Api would be our first choice hooker and JMK is progressing. They’ve signed the best available hooker available... While JMK has been progressing reasonably Api plays the type of eyes up footy that can getting us rolling with ball in hand... They’ll make a great combo at 9 and 14...
