That said, he does have a lot of competition for a place in the match day squad, let alone for a starting role. One thing in his favour is the amount of matches Celtic play each season.

If he isn’t included in a 37 man squad list I can’t see him getting a game in the league. I hate to admit it, but this was the wrong move. I know he did his ACL and he is behind the eight ball I just don’t think it’s the right decision

I know he did his ACL and he is behind the eight ball I just don’t think it’s the right decision Rodgers brought him on for the seniors in a match last year and he starred in the short time he was on the pitch only to do his knee. Had that not have happened he would have kicked on. Now he's stuck with Lennon who it looks like wont play him. Not really a bad move just bad luck

Italiano starting for gladbach II agaist Schalke II. He was a sub last round.
By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

Murray Miller, the young Scottish U16 and U17 international, who played for the Joeys (Australia U17) against England this morning, was named in Rangers’ Europa League squad yesterday. https://www.footballscotland.co.uk/spfl/other-football/rangers-announce-europa-league-squad-16871980

From what I have seen of Arzani, he is the type of winger that Lennon likes. Someone who is direct and isn't afraid to takes on defenders. The only bad luck I can see, is him doing his ACL during his debut wearing the Hoops. Again though, he finds himself down in the pecking order and will have to work his way up. If he is good enough (better then what is in front of him), he will get game time.

+xCan we stop with pinching of shit Scottish players. I mean given we have only Degenek, Behich, Jeggo, Rogic and Giannou playing European football this season, it’s ridiculous to call this lad shit. He’s 17, you’ve never seen him play, and you’re calling him shit. Says more about you than him tbf. He looks to be a great talent, highly regarded in the Scottish system, and will add to our setup.

Hi guys been a while. An update on Noah for those interested. After having left Wehen Wiesbaden in March due to the mobbing Noah spent time privately training with Goalkeeper trainer Rainer Presber in Wiesbaden and was invited by Germania Wiesbaden to join their U11 squad to train several times a week. In May Germania Wiesbaden invited Noah to join their team. Noah's new season started last week after having spent most of August recovering from a quad injury caused during Pre-Season training. Here's a video of Noah playing against Vfb Ginsheim a strong team just South of Mainz. https://youtu.be/niDpLlMBlV8Next week Noah's team are playing Eintracht Frankfurt and the week after his old team Wehen Wiesbaden. That will be interesting. Anyway I will be glued to the tv to see how the Socceroo's play against Kuwait.Hope they have a good start to their campaign. Wish you guys could send me a meat pie.Miss those damn things. Anyway Tschüss

What about the Scottish setup? How do you think they feel. Were you around when Josip Simunic who was produced wholly by Australia chose to play for Croatia despite them having nothing to do with his development. I don't even know who this lad is. Im just pissed off players dont play for national teams/federation's that actually had a major hand in producing them as footballers.

Josip Simunic, Tony Dorigo, Craig Johnston and now Alex Robertson are exactly why I want these players to play for Australia. European nations are always going to try and poach our best youngsters so why shouldn’t we do the same? I want Australia to perform well at World Cups so why wouldn’t we choose the best players who qualify for our team.

We put money into youth development and national curriculums for our youth to play in our national youth and senior teams so we can have the best Socceroos and Matildas teams. I understand other nations do it which doesnt make it right. Anyway i dont want to derail this great AA thread.

+xGoal John Iredale! On fire! Jack Iredale starting for Carlisle against top placed Exeter and doubt alright. John, i know it’s still early days and John Iredale is still playing in a low level league - but if he keeps playing well for Wolfsburg u23’s - what are his chances to be picked up by higher level teams/ other European leagues? Would he need a full season and say 20-25 goals before any a bundesliga 2 or bundesliga 3 team would be interested? Would he best to stay with this team and hope they get promoters to Bundesliga 3 (they just missed out last season). i noticed that the next highest scoring player in his team, John Yeboah, just got picked up on loan by VVV venlo in eridivesie Or is it just like the English academy sides where those that often dominate at this level fail to make the step up and are never heard from again? (Numerous Aussie examples).

I don't have anything like JS's knowledge of the German game, but for an apples and apples comparison if you look at last season you have Daniel Hanslik as Wolfsburg II's and Regionalliga Nord's top goalscorer with 19 goals getting a free transfer to Holstein Kiel in 2.Bundelsiga. Iredale is easily on track for as many goals, and is two years younger.
