It doesn't "take years" to put together a marketing campaign. This season was the most invisible marketing campaign the league has ever (not) seen. And it doesn't "take years" to make a half decent fixture schedule. This season is the most screwed up in the league's history.

If you break a cup, and want to repair it, you don't do so by throwing it into the ground again "Years" is the magical cure for everything in our game. At least 5 years for this and at least 10 years for that. Nothing will happen without a change in model Also, the Lowy led FFA might have chosen the expansion teams but the new FFA had the power to knock it on the head

The season fixtures are negotiated 6-9 months before they’re announced with only limited horse trading in the latter stages The Administration of this seasons draw was under Gallop/O’Rourke and not something the new FFA Board would have been involved in this season, not least because they only meet one day a month. We definitely need to see an improvement next season and as soon as possible get to an even 14 teams/26 round season.

Sounds like the new mob have "saved" the league once again... Sydney used to regularly get crowds of 6-8k during the "good old days". 10k on a Friday against the Jets at a temporary suburban home I'll take.

Well, I dont really know what you are saying but 10.5k in the circumstances was about standard......and Sydney won 4-1, which is the main thing.

Last season Sydney only got 2 attendances lower than last night, and 1 attendance lower at Leichhardt. Their last game against Newcastle was over 12k which is about the standard for Leichhardt I dont mind those who like the A League being positive about it. As said, most games have been within a goal which is unusual in our game, and last week there was only a 9 point gap between top and bottom which shows how close things are But this thread is about statistics and analysing the implications of those statistics. There is no amount of creative wording of sentences and "not bad considering"s that can deny the slide in attendance figures this season

Let's face it, seems the only thing at this stage that's going to keep attendances in the same ballpark as last season is bankwest. Which is nothing to do with this new mob of no-hopers...

How many Newy fans made it down after work this time?

How many Newy fans made it down after work this time? 12053 Jubilee (CCM) 11217 Leichhardt (Adelaide) I'm sure 700 odd Adelaide fans made it to the game after work though so its probably about even. If you also minus the 2k which is splitting hairs in terms of difference, then anything over 9,217 last night would have been considered a good turnout

We're not the same person Its undeniable the attendances this season are worse than last season, which was a progressive pattern for 5 seasons The reason for why can, and will, be debated

I think Wanderers v Brisbane and Victory v WU should draw more than 24,879 between them.
