+x+x+xCity v Mariners published as 5547 in News group websites Lol that's a flat out lie. 3k max. At the absolute most. A thousand behind each goal end and 500 on each outer wing, and that’s being generous as the near camera side clearly has less lol.

I’ll go with the official figure over random guesses from people who’ve seen some photos of some of the stands. 5547 it was.

It was 16 seconds after the half time whistle.

I accept that city’s crowd will be a talking point for the rest of the season now we’re looking a Top team

Leave it to Victory fans and southmelb (who questions every single city attendance) to provide some impartial analysis. It sounds like you're accusing me of something. I think pictures of the game are the least partial evidence of all. It's a lot easier to submit a fake crowd number than it is to get away with doctored screenshots of a game anyone can fact check for themselves. I get it though, it's much easier for you to shoot the messenger due to the club I support, rather than investigate the underlying issues and help find a solution.

I think City need to change direction to establish a fanbase that will stand the test of time.

I’m actually doing my best to overestimate, I was willing to give them 4K.

See for yourself, if you have a kayo subscription. The only people who would have already left their seat by this point must be suffering from explosive diarrhea, because it certainly wouldn't be to avoid long queues for beers.

Most of the corporate's would still be inside TBF , although not 3000 people on that side.

Clearly, this Melbourne City is a total failure and should be removed. Looks to me they would be lucky to be 4000 fans in the stadium.

So lets go through it
Adelaide = perfect stadium, only negative is shelter/shade and in need of a central CBD location Brisbane = need to play in a 15-20k stadium CCM = need a 11-12k stadium Melb Victory = need to play every home game at AAMI Melb City = need a 10-15k football specific stadium Newcastle = play in a stadium far too big, they should be in a 12-13k stadium tops Perth = About right probably 2-3k too big but its okay Sydn = need a 20k stadium Wel = far too big of a stadium, need a 11-12k stadium tops WSW = stadium is too big should be a tops 20-22k stadium will look empty with a 14-15k crowd WUFC = reserved judgement until they "build" their own, should be 11-12k

Melbourne City is emblematic of the A Leagues broader problems.
Personally, love it though I do, I think there comp is screwed. It just hasn't progressed at all since the first few seasons in terms of attendances and wider cut through. TBH ratings, even allowing for streaming, won't attract a new TV deal.
I honestly can't see how the League becomes commercially viable from here.

No one is going to build the stadiums themselves clubs need.

Everyone having a go at City, yet no one mentioning or complaining about Newcastle right now who are playing in a similar looking attendance but have the luxury of decent weather for fans to go and attend. Yeah okay.

No one is going to build the stadiums themselves clubs need. There are solutions but it will vary by city. Brisbane can and should build a stadium - for what they’re paying to rent Suncorp they can service a loan Jets/Mariners are locked in to community stadiums. Same with WSW/SFC nix could move and, like Roar, are exploring options. Victory (AAMI)/Adelaide ✔️ and let’s assume WU ✔️ Glory i think need to move. City too. Both could build locally although Glory might get some resistance from the local council. Its aLao worth noting that for those supporting canberra and Wolves entry to the league - they are both likely to draw crowds way too small for their respective stadium sizes.
