Well, UnitedGal, with proposals like that I think that most Adelaide fans would have you as El Presidente right quick. :d And of course only sensible fans (i.e.ones we agree with) would be allowed to run things. Could be a small board.

Abignumber, I like the idea of printing money. That would solve the liquidity problem. Bummer about the salary cap though. There we'd be with all our squillions and not allowed to spend them. Maybe we could sign counterfeit players?

As for rational discussion........

I would only be happy to be on a board and nothing else (laugh)
I actually thought if Dario Fontanarosa managed to become the Chairman of AU and prior that he used to work at reception desk (being nobody prior marrying Bianco's daughter) at Bianco's and there is no reason why I can not be the Chairman of AU; at least I have UNI Business degree behind me.
The only way you can have me at AU is for me to be the Chairman.
I think majority of you would agree!!

C'mon Krijoz, you'd be a great announcer. The guy who does it now is about as inspiring as a wet, cold tea-bag. With your capitals and exclamation marks - and your doubtless passion for the club - you are the man to rev the crowd into a frenzy..

You can be chairman as well if you like but it'll be dull.......

Are you Italian?
As for Dario; he was nobody before he married Bianco's daughter mate and I know that from reliable source that use to see him all the time when buying building material, he was working at reception desk and he had no any managerial role at the time

Why is Bianco selling AU?
Share it with us if you know please?
Sorry i am not trying to be rude but whole South Australia know who are the main culprits for AU woes.

I am wog myself but would hate for any soccer club in the A-league to have too much of ethnic influence in it as that ex-system never worked and never will.
When it comes to the game of soccer in this country, the soccer market is in its developing stage and the FFA is trying to bring a game of wider Australian audience so it is embraced by many people and not only by a few ethnic groups.

That is way Gordon Pickard picked ADELAIDE UNITED name

We are all in it and not only selected few with HIDDEN AGENDAS

Not much traffic has been happening on the AUFC front of late, anyone heard of any state league games being watched by AUFC?

Nah Garcia is a Perth boy. If we were 'somehow' to come come now, or within the next couple seasons, then it would surely be to us!

BTW Hope you guys ah still going to sign an Asian player or two. I heard Viddie was after a Thai International and also a Japanese player. But this was a while ago, haven't heard much recently. Probably doesn't help that off the field, it doesn't look great.

Hope you guys find some rich new owners. Maybe your own Sheik and that way you can build yourselves that brand spanking new arena your old owner was proposing (40k stadium based on Frankfurt stadium or something, closer to the CBD - $400-500M costed).

Hi all! As promised I am letting you know we have a new AUFC supporter to add to the ranks.

My wife gave birth to a little (well not so little!) baby girl called Joya. For those interested she was 4.178kgs (thats 9lbs 3.4oz) and 49cms long. As you can see I have been a bit busy so unable to really get onto the net.

Is there any news from BU's wife yet?

or if you want to know anything else let me know!

Seems too early for Mullen to leave, would be a real shame if he left now. He's needs another good A-League season under his belt and with that a few more NT caps he'll surely earn through more home based squads. He will likely not see any NT action if he's in Europe, because he'll be in the reserves a while, just like how the Leijer's, Nathan Burn's, Holland's and like have not been capped for the NT since setting foot in Europe and being stuck in youth/reserves football.

Though in saying that, young Burn's NT fortunes may change with his recent AEK playing time, which could see him be called up again for those June fixtures, where Pim may pick some younger Euro boys. :o 8)

yep, read that article and basically he has said what we all thought, Bianco has a shit load of work in the pipeline and he is not interested in offloading AUFC - but is looking to increase the clubs financial support.

It could be dodgy because of the source but:

Quote:

Adelaide United are facing a mass exodus as players begin to pursue careers elsewhere.

It is understood that five players from the current 17-man Reds squad have been given permission by the club to begin transfer negotiations.

Defender Scott Jamieson, goalkeeper Mark Birighitti, midfielder Fabien Barbiero, and defensive duo Daniel Mullen and Robert Cornthwaite have all been given permission to commence transfer talks with other clubs.

Jamieson trialled with Dutch club Groningen FC prior to Adelaide’s pre-season training kick-off but said it was more for experience and a move was a fair way off.

The move regarding young goalkeeper Birghitti has been in the news recently with the Reds keen to keep him in Adelaide, so much so they priced him at $1 million.

Barbiero and Mullen are both being lured towards Europe, with the latter trialing with NEC Nijmegen in March and Cornthwaite has had offers from clubs in South Korea.

You really have to admire the cant, must take some amount of talent to take some curent news, some old news, some even older news, then distort a few facts and come up with a story that is completely misleading and untrue yet probably doesn't contain any complete lies.

My apologies, Nix. It is the whole story that you saw. It's just that they stole it from the Adelaide Advertiser. And the final paras go like this:
Birighitti, 18, was on AZ's radar until United slapped a $1 million price tag on his head, according to Reds football director Michael Valkanis.

Barbiero was also recently lured to Europe's lucrative money trail and Cornthwaite's manager confirmed he also knocked back three offers from South Korean clubs after Sasa Ognenovski was sold to Seongnam Ilhwa for $350,000 in January.

Mullen trialled with Holland's NEC Nijmegen last month.

Barbiero's European-based FIFA agent said the midfielder had an all-expenses paid trial with an unnamed German Bundesliga 2 club before signing a fresh two-year Reds deal.

As King Billy says, a pinch of truth can be made to stretch a looooooong way by Val.
