Now, if we could just get Target to sponsor us and put a big roundel in the middle of those shirts....
I think they look great. And better for not having a sponsors logo. Of course I realise the club needs on but they look good so uncluttered at the moment.

I know Carlsberg is AUFC official sponsored beer. It would look good if they had that across the front.

I guess that would be our next question to pose to AUFC, 'what the heck will our front and back of shirt sponsors be??'

So who will be signing up as a "season Ticket" holder come Monday 22nd June?
I think Adelaide's Membership package is the best of the A-League teams in terms of benefits and I have checked what other A-League Clubs are offering.
I like the fact that season ticket members get free entry to the National Youth League and W-league matches as part of the membership.
I also like the "Friday night shout" iniative to bring along four mates to one Friday night game of your choice for the season.
Surely this should bump up our crowd attendance although we do not have the Adelaide Oval game this year (no loss there)
I like the fact that renewing members already get there season ticket card and lanyard and all we have to do is just renew.
Awesome!

I shall be signing up in person at Hindmarsh come Monday morning... perhaps late morning. Definitely gonna be worth it as we head into season 09/10 and the ACL next year. I'll be keeping an eye out on the merchandise front too, since this is going to be my first season as a season ticket holder, I wanna show true pride in the club by getting the home shirt and I guess a scarf would be nice too!
GO YOU REDS!

GO YOU REDS! Good on ya too, I myself don't want to be paying $32 for a matchday ticket in the Gold section. Hopefully this may encourage new members.

Meanwhile, on a completely different note, I hope we sign that Korean youngster, Shin In Sup, who played the full 90 minutes with us against Raiders on Tuesday. Looks like a talent worth getting hold of. I guess if all those "supposed" links with the South American continent fall through (like Alvaro Pintos and Marcos Flores), we should definitely sign Shin up. Plus he'd probably cost less than those South Americans too... :D

Well I've just been to Hindmarsh and have paid for my membership too. There were two people in front of me who signed up their families as new members too. Also bought my tickets to the Perth game this Friday night. Looking forward to the season kick off now!

Hmm... just got home from being out all morning, and I noticed I received a member's pack containing a season ticket card, a lanyard, a sticker and the card holder from AUFC already. I thought, "Surely, they can't have anticipated my signing up already." So I followed the prompts on the letter to activate the card, and get my Friday Night Shout tickets. Does this mean that I've now been charged twice, one for the Gold season ticket I bought at Hindmarsh, and one Red season ticket I just activated?? Did anyone else get this?

Um if you paid for a Gold Season ticket today then it must be for a seat that wasn't reserved for a member from last year. It means you can activate your ticket but if you don't pay for the red membership it will just become invalid if you try and get into Hindmarsh on that card unless your going to pay for that membership too. I renewed today at Venuetix in Da Costa Arcade. I had problems activated my card through the website today. I got my gold ticket and Lanyard Friday night. If you were a member last year and when you renewed you used that membership number then you should be alright. I am going to register now for the "Friday night Shout" tickets.

If you were a member last year and when you renewed you used that membership number then you should be alright. I am going to register now for the "Friday night Shout" tickets. Yeah, I got a pretty decent seat on Top Deck, front row right in the centre. There weren't any seats left on Middle Deck or Lower Deck... :( And let's hope that's the case with the Red member card I received in the mail. I wasn't a member last year, so I am guessing they got my name from the ticket sales last year and sent me the package anyway to persuade me to join up. As for the Friday Night Shout thing, I used the member number from the letter I received with the Red ticket, and successfully activated it. However, I left my redemption of the 4 free tickets for too long and Venuetix timed me out. So now the system won't let me back in to redeem the 4 free tickets. I gave Hindmarsh a call and they said that the system wasn't fully operational yet! Said to give it a day or so...

Quote:Reds first HAL test, in Friday night friendly against Perth Tuesday, 23 June 2009Adelaide United Specialist Coach Tony Vidmar believes this Friday night’s friendly against Perth Glory, will give The Reds a good indication of where they are at in their pre season progress. The former Qantas Socceroo defender, who enjoyed a decorated playing career with 76 senior appearances for his country and lengthy stints with NAC Breda, Scottish League giants Rangers and English club Cardiff City, among others, says United’s squad is looking forward to tackling a Glory outfit that has attracted some big signings in the off season. Qantas Socceroos duo Mile Sterjovski and Jacob Burns have both signed for the West Australian club, while foreigners Eugene Dadi and Victor Sikora both extended their contracts for this season. Perth’s visit to Hindmarsh Stadium will be the first match for United against Hyundai A-League opposition, following three trials against local Super League clubs Para Hills Knights, MetroStars and Raiders. While all three local encounters were solid, tough affairs which gave United’s squad valuable match fitness, Vidmar knows the Glory will provide The Reds with a real measuring stick of where they are at with six weeks to go until Round 1. “The boys have been working hard in the pre-season, they’ve had some games against local teams and Friday night will be a good test to see how far they’ve come,” Vidmar said. One player Vidmar and United’s coaching staff will be keen to have another look at is Korean born midfielder Shin In Sup. The 20 year old has been in Adelaide for over a week training with The Reds and impressed in the trial match against Raiders, Head Coach Aurelio Vidmar extending the midfielder’s trial period, Shin set to line up against Perth. “So far of what we’ve seen he’s been very good,” Tony Vidmar said of Shin. “He’s technically solid, he’s got a bit of pace about him and good vision when he’s in possession of the ball, he doesn’t give too many passes away, so he’s been impressive and we’ll see how he goes on Friday night.” Vidmar has joined fellow Australian representative and former Reds striker Carl Veart in a specialist coaching role with the senior squad, while he also remains an Assistant Coach to Joe Mullen of United’s Youth Team. The veteran defender said he is enjoying being able to work individually with players on various aspects of their game, and is confident his and Veart’s experience will be beneficial, particularly for the younger players. Tickets for Friday night’s match against Perth are available now through Venue*Tix (call 8225 8888, online www.venuetix.com.au). Prices are as follows: Adults $12, Concession $10, Children (4-15) $5, Family (2 adults, 2 children) $29.
Kick-Off is at 7.30pm (ACST) with a curtain raiser between the Riverland and Western Border kicking off at 4.45pm.Source: Adelaide United FC This friendly match is going to be pretty good by the looks of things from both teams. Although still not at 100%, both squads will be able to flex their strengths against A-League opposition. I'm particularly interested in the Reds' website coverage of Shin In Sup. Seems like he is impressing the coaching staff, and hopefully we sign him up for next season. I'm still not sure if being "Korean born" simply means he's actually a dual-national and therefore wouldn't take up an international position in our squad. And congratulations to Tony Vidmar for being promoted to Specialist Coach of the senior team. =d>

7:30pm kick-off - Adelaide time. I'll be at the game.
Any other members get that email from the club today regarding the orders for the new home/alternate shirts? I'm thinking about ordering a home shirt but I haven't received my member card yet... :(

I got the email, thought about getting one of each but... whats the go with them at the moment, we still dont have a sponsor so if we were to order one then what happens. it would be sponsorless or would they wait until we have a sponsor then send them out. I dont want to buy one without sponsors then in say two months time they find a sponsor .

Love it how they say that it is cheaper if you pre-order them. $117 + $15 is more expensive than the usual $130. Not sure whether I want one without the sponsor either. Does't really look like a football top without a sponsor

Good on ya jessesdad! I'm also a first-timer member, so at least we're building up the membership base, one by one.
Meanwhile, has anyone had any success with the Friday Night Shout ticket system yet?
