0-250 is pretty shocking.

Indeed. So is 0/12 off 0. The example being a 4 and a 6 off two consecutive no balls and the bowler subsequently sent off for bowling waist high full tosses...

Siddle.

Yeah, Siddle.

Here's some easy cricket trivia anyone familiar with Bradman will know off the top of their heads.

Which young bowler, who bowled a 17yr old Bradman out for 234 in a Wingello vs Bowral local match (at Bowral) also kicked on to become an Aussie cricketing legend?

To be fair Bradman was dropped twice off his bowling before he reached 30, once with the ball hitting the fielder/Captain in the chest "as he was lighting his pipe" lol. Bradman made 234 n.o. by the end of the day. The next week he clean bowled him first ball.

[/quote]

452* (I knew this and his highest test score) at the SCG in a shield match against Qld in 1930 (which I had to look up lol).

I will be impressed if anyone can answer this without looking it up.

How many wickets did Bradman take in his test career?

Not a bad guess, it wasn't many.

I found this little bit of trivia while looking up where/when he made his highest first class score. The correct answer is 2. One of them being Walter Hammond in the infamous match at Adelaide 1933 (the bodyline series).

That covers a lot of cricketers. Perhaps a clue.. say the nationality.

I will have a wild stab. Wally Hammond (England).

It's a modern cricketer, as they play so much more cricket these days. Nationality will make it too easy. Was also an opening batsman and very good in the slips.

Captain Grumpy (Border) is second with 94 matches. Flemming 3rd with 80 matches. This player was much more recent, retired after 109 matches as Captain. Great cricketer he was too, excellent Captain.

Exactly right Paddles.

In some ways a mirror image of his namesake. Something like a more burly version of Simon Katich technique wise (only far more successful). Seemed to have mits the size of dinner plates, which was helpful in the slips (1st slip from memory, could be wrong about that). His team had a largely unsung run with him as Captain, extremely good record. Probably the best team around from late 2000's until his retirement.

Yes Bob. Obviously Greame Smith. 108 test matches as Captain of South Africa, 1 as Captain of an ICC eleven. Fair effort that.
