+x+x+x+xAt 3-35 chasing 488, the BCs are really in strife. I’m not sure if they can just defend for another day hoping to be saved by forecasted rain late tomorrow? I often got told that however you finish the last game is how you start the next so there is always something to play for. If they force it to a 5th day and we bowl first in sydney then they might face a more fatigued lineup True. DC I cant see why Tim batted into today. Did they misread the pitch this morning.. This deck now looks the easiest to bat on for the entire match. Even Blundell with little footwork looks reasonably comfortable. Those three important Patto wickets has sealed the deal but the BCs will battle it out. Lovely piece of stumping by Paine. Nothing wrong with this old man's reflexes.

+xBaggers, Grazor, et al, Nicholls seems to be getting his bat close to his pad with his vertical shots. Is that correct? sadly my stream isn't working so I switched on netflix!

Blundell is proving this is now a good batting pitch. No movement to speak of for our quicks. If he and Watling can take the BCs into the final day they are back in the contest.
Cummins and Patto were rather ragged in their last spells. Gifted too many freebies to Blundell. Tighten up after the break boys.. back to building pressure. Still 357 runs for them to get.
Why is Bobbie not posting ?

The closer the bat and pad are the less chance for error. You have heard the expression bowled thru the gate. No batsman wants that.

How foolish did that look. It was a good ball but Joe played it poorly. Looked a complete goose when his stumps went cartwheeling.

starc could be useful as the pitch flattens and dries up. Wonder if he'll get some reverse

The Fox crew had stats saying he was bowling faster in this innings than for some time. So much for raw speed.

Spoke too soon as GOAT strikes removing Watling for 22. The delivery bounced, span and dipped.
Caught at leg slip in an unusual dismissal. Good field setting from GOAT or Paine.
Kiwis 5-161 and in big trouble. Lyon now has many close in fielders around the bat.

With the stump mikes on, Paine’s comments, banter and encouragement of Lyon is funny!
Australia right on top.

It is very hard for the Kiwis to come back now. Blundell given out LBW Patto. Kiwis review. Not Out - too high. Kiwi Army go silly.

Of the two tons in this match this was made under the most pressure. Labuchagne picks up the final Kiwi wicket.

+xThe Chappell/Hadlee trophy remains in Aussie hands. Good news! Aus wins the 4th series in a row, three being at home and the Ashes retained away. Paine’s captaincy record is improving. He took a lot of straightforward catches off potent pace bowling, plus some slick catches and a stumping off spin. This Test he scored 79 with the fastest strike rate of any of the top seven in the Aussie team. Good innings from Head, but he still has technical flaws to rectify. The Aus attack was very good. Patto was a terrific addition. Blundell played a classy innings under great pressure.

Pretty sure Aus aint won in England since 2001... I just checked the world test championship, Aus did not win in England :P They lost 2 tests and won 2 tests, with 1 seemingly certain england victory rained out to a draw... https://www.icc-cricket.com/world-test-championship/standingsOn the bright side, england is 150 runs with 5 wickets in hand of upsetting the Saffirs... (I really think the Saffirs have this in the bag, tbh - but care less either way)
