Adelaide City definately have a problem with AUFC. Know people still involved with them and it is a very fresh wound. As for Friday - can't wait. Going to go straight after work so will get there around 17:30. Anyone looking for someone to watch the game with? Probably on my own (again)!

But were they ever approached by Adelaide United? D'Ottavi has sold City players to AU before. You're probably way closer to actuality than me RER, but wasn't Mori approached and United would not, or maybe could not, pay the price that Bob D'Ottavi asked. Of course I may be off the mark, because I couldn't get my head around the pissing contest as I didn't know any real facts. I don't know what happened between Mori and both clubs, it was just a question. But i do know that AU have bought players from City before... Aurelio being one of them. I'm just curious as to whether AU ever approached City of Mori and Pezos :-k From memory Pezos trialled but it didnt work out for some reason. Wasn't half of the team from season one ex Adelaide City players?

Apparently City’s restaurant at Oakden shows AU games live which is very interesting and cool.

I'm pretty sure Adelaide United paid Adelaide City around $50,000 for those 3, and 1 other.. was it Costanzo perhaps? Can't recall, but there was some sort of fee given to City for them. AU got a pretty good deal you'd have to say.

I thought they all got released by City and where at other clubs and then got pulled into the AUFC club? Memory of the events are fuzzy...

Anyone here going to the family day?
I will be there - the little boy is looking forward to it.
Personally, I plan to catch up with a couple of the players. Had a good chat to (a black eyed)Jamo last year. Wouldnt mind have a little chat with Leckie this year.

Last year's event was awesome. I got to speak to Cristiano and Agostino for quite a bit. Managed to chat with Younis more than the others, and he seemed like a really nice guy - shame he wasn't that great on field and left soon after. Wanna catch up with Shin, Owusu and Flores this weekend! :D No idea how I'll be able to speak to Flores though, "no hablo espanol!". :p

bindiboy wrote:i think cornflakes was a adelaide city boy too if i remember right from school I remember Robbie playing for White City, as did Pantelis before this final move. Pantelis played for a number of clubs and more than likely began @ West Adelaide. Robbie more than likely began his playing days up north with Modbury, Para or Salisbury. I do know for certain though that Richie Alagich began by going to training with his Dad @ Pirates. Edited by redcup: 14/1/2010 07:40:53 PM

Either that or someone at the club forgot that it was game day and didn't contact the papers. Hmmm... :-k

Glad I parked my car down at the port road medium strip. Got the train in from Bowden to the City for work. Will catch the train back out to Bowden for the game tonight. Not gonna be silly and be delayed by the tram line extention at the intersection of the brewary and the Adelaide Entertainment centre slow me down. They will start work on that at 7.00pm tonight so if any are going that way, best to get there very early or you will suffer.

Get the Grange Train around 5.04 and 5.34 from Adelaide to Bowden then you can walk to the stadium which would take roughly 10 minutes.

This is hilarious...(from adelaide now) http://www.news.com.au/adelaidenow/story/0,22606,26589766-5006373,00.htmlQuote:Vidmar has resisted the temptation to blood Argentinian AFC Champions League recruit Marcos Flores in the A-League, while Iain Fyfe looks to have overcome his knee and ankle injuries.
The coach said forgotten striker Lloyd Owusu was in the selection frame.
United has requested the Hindmarsh surface be watered immediately before tonight's game.
However, this will not happen as the stadium's watering licence prohibits watering before 8pm. Wow we are backwards. Despite people having a go at SFC for watering pitches it is done in Europe all the time to quicken up the deck and promote slick passing etc. I believe this is actually something that would give us an edge over teams such as Central Coast but guess what boys...it's Adelaide :-#

Going straight to Hindmarsh after work, will be looking to catch my first live NYL match (or at least the end of it) and if anyone wants to catch up for a chat will be on the half way line.
