Take off Pantelis for Kostopoulos!! :D Go with a 4-3-3 in the last half hour! :D

Out: Mark RUDAN (quad – 1 week), ALEMAO (hip – 1 week), CRISTIANO (knee – 1 week), Lloyd OWUSU (on trial in China), Mark BIRIGHITTI (gk) (groin – 1 week)
Unavailable: Paul REID (groin – 2 weeks), Joe COSTA (knee – long term injury list), CASSIO (calf – 2 weeks)
Referee: Peter O'Leary [/quote ] Cassio isn't mentioned anywhere - more mouthing off at crap tactics??? We all know that Hughes will run around like a headless chook again, because Viddie likes runners - doesn't seem to matter that he's done diddly squat all year!
I expect to see the usual suspects out there again, and with the Nix's enviable record at home and with 2 last start defeats under their belt I expect them to come out all guns blazing.
It really is an ideal time for Viddie to blood some youngens, but his track record for innovation needs no explanation!!!
Duh, same ol' mistake I always have - never read the exam question thoroughly. Cassios injured - ERROR!!!

LOL, you might wanna remove the space from the closing quote tag as well. :p
So yeah, I keep talking up the kids like Monterosso and Kostopoulos, but seriously, I think they are the way to go tonight.

Edited by jessesdad: 30/1/2010 02:22:35 PM Ta mate. Now to see if I can convince my old radio to pick it up. I hope they have Alby commentating, there's something about his accent that makes the worst defeat ... well, not better but ... oh I dunno, maybe I'm just a sucker for accents (all jokes aside, he is a good commentator). Did anyone else notice in the sAdvertiser that Val Mythologicalreporter claims that Stubbins is going to take over NQF? Genuine tip? Another beat up? Do we care?
In any case, Stubbins is probably due his time at the helm and he'd find a few familiar faces. I wonder how he and Fowler would get on.

I want to be even more attacking! We've got the players, just not the coach with the balls to attack.
Like i said, our coach has no balls. Make him coach of the Lady Reds. At least he can shower with them with no fear of a backlash.

I'm a supporter who's sick and tired of the pathetic, pissweak effort of our coach.
I doubt he reads these comments, but the management board should, the coach should and the players should, ( although the players are really only earning their living as professional players ). Every poster on this site is hurting because their opinions, their support, their very being is ignored.
If Real Madrid have the guts to sack a coach that won every bit of silverware his club entered. Why can't United?
If Alan Young was serious about ownership and he had any passion for the club, surely he would've jumped on board some time ago. Personally, although I don't know the man, having his name put out there and then doing nothing makes me distrust him. Saint Nick would never have acted so callously!
I like Viddie as a person, but his lack of guts on Saturday tells me we can do better. Even Kossie had the balls to do something! Signing Nando, and Qu were his initiatives and although his brain explosions are well documented at least he inspired guts.
I've been one of his supporters but for Viddie to come out and say he was giving the young guys a go, and then play the same donkeys and to play for a draw, at best, is inexcusable.
I really hope some big-wigs @ AU do read this and realise how much we dislike what's happening!

Oh for goodness sake... This is what gets me so angry: Quote:I've been one of his supporters but for Viddie to come out and say he was giving the young guys a go, and then play the same donkeys and to play for a draw, at best, is inexcusable. Here I was thinking we'd actually go all out attack with the young guns of Leckie, Monterosso and Kostopoulos leading the line. How silly of me to actually think it might even happen with two of the boys up there... Get Joe Mullen to be the senior coach. He at least knows how to win with the players he has at hand.

What I am failing to understand is that our season IS over. We can't make the finals, yet Vidmar is still playing the same boring game with the same boring squad. Why not take this time to rest some players and give some experience to those who need it. Now is the time to throw caution to the wind.
Of course this is pie in the sky fantasy. I mean why would we expect anything to change?
Good on North Queensland for poaching our talent. Notice there were no bids for Cornthwaite, notice Pantelis hasn't signed somewhere else, notice we 'discovered' Hughes. See a pattern? No one wants the players we sign, they are happy to sign the ones we dont, unfortunately these are the talented ones.
Look for Monterosso to move on. He is getting absolutely SHAFTED by Vidmar. And who can blame the kid.
Frankie, Spags and Marrone got it right. Sorry to see you go mate but unless Viddie moves on, you'll be destroyed here.

Interesting to see in the Advertiser today that Lloyd is coming back as he wasn't keen on moving to China, and United are looking to try get Fowler on a 6 game guest stint. Hopefully they can do it, of course lets hope they're actually trying to sign him and not just tickling our ears as we've all been asking for it for a while.

And also this was mentioned this morning in the recent Heart news thread: fourfourtwo wrote: In other news, Adelaide United have not denied the rumour that Adam Griffiths is joining the Reds but say there is no deal on the table as yet. A club spokesperson told au.fourfourtwo.com the former Gold Coast player is not in Adelaide and no pen has been put to paper on a contract but admitted the defender/midfielder would be of potential interest to the club ahead of the ACL later this month.

Quite frankly you could bring in the guy who sells the chevapachi's at the western gate and he couldn't do much worse. But we've been asking for some fresh faces since round 5 and only now that money is on the line do they try and act. Fowler*, Griffiths*, Flores etc etc *Although contracted in Round 5 I'm sure players of similar ilk were available

Am trying to be realistic rather than my faves
.............Eugene........ Mullen...Fyfe..Cornflakes...Jamo/Cassio ........Griffiths..Reid......... ...Dodd.....Flores.....Leckie ............Owusu.........
Obviously we may want AG to play CB but I have a feeling he will be used more to sure up the midfield as i believe this is a role he is equally comfy with...

Sorry to have been away guys, had an exam on this morning and so have spent the last two days cramming! Now the most important thing to work out for the line up Saturday is this: Which bar are we meeting at for 442 drinks? I am at a mates for lunch (he is a big AUFC fan as well) so am not sure what time I am getting to the game but my wife already knows that I am going to be getting to the game for a beer with you blokes (since it appears United Gal hasn't been around...). Since most of us are Red members shall we meet on the Manton street side? The centre bar? We will need to get some decent seats too! As for the game... well am expecting to see the same old. Really more interested in putting faces to names - other than just Jessesdad!

How exciting I've never had an internet date before ahahahaaa I'll likely be with a mate or two but am keen to say hello at the very least. Conversation may be awkward but i guess we all have one thing in common hey??

General Ashnak wrote:Very true, this is my second (first was with Stephen ;)) but will be first group date! Dumped after one date! Or even worse, asked to join a group date! Fickle man. :d I'd been wondering where you were. When you and Unit don't comment on the blog I start to wonder what I've done wrong. Or if you've been hit by a bus. Drinks? Despite my hopes I doubt I'll be there. My hospital check-up on the Achilles injury didn't go well. The wound isn't healing properly and they've sent me home to pleb around with my leg eleavted until next Monday, when they decide if they need to operate - again. Depressing stuff. If I could get close to the ground I could maybe make it to a seat but standing around for a chat and the climbing up and down the stairs on crutches go a bit beyone what I'm allowed to do. Bearing in mind how long this injury has been with me I'm not keen to push my luck. So, enjoy the catch-up and I'll make it to the next one - I hope. You all know what I look like from the pic on the blog so you know you're not missing anything. :) Hopefully Brenton will make it and Adelaide will win this one to ease my pain and boredom. And then we'll sign Torres to give Owusu a bit of a hand......

Sorry mate, but I did see you again - and then you decided to try and rip your foot off the hard way! Yeah had to study or would have shafted myself in the exam, was all pretty new stuff to me - though the exam was heaps easier than my assignment for a change!

I'm in for Saturday, boys! I'll be there for the Youth League game prior to the main match, so I'll float around the Manton St end. Let me know where and when and I'll get there.

What will our Asian kits be like? I know we have to have a new away kit because our current ones clash with Pohang.
