+x+xi would imagine Bozza having another melt down if this batch of olyroos dont make the olympics And so he should. i cant be the only one whos looking forward to hearing him raise the roof off fox sports. we are sabotaging ourselves because theres not enough opportunities for the kids to play at the highest level in the country because of the lack of promotion and relegation

+xHow easy is our group compared to Groups B and C. Hard to say. I think each group has 3 'strong' sides and 1 team not necessarily pushovers but slightly worse than the others (although the Syria result has changed my opinion on that a bit) Group D is tough as well but I think Vietnam should be topping that one while the other groups are very hard to predict. Japan are probably the favourites to take out the tournament but I really couldn't count out a number of other teams. Japan v Saudi Arabia and South Korea v China kick off in 20 minutes.

Great news about the Qatari loss.
Correct me if I'm wrong but weren't a lot of the Syrian players in our WCQ playoff U23 players?

Ended 2:2 Somehow I don't feel Syria had such a young team. Would have to look deeper. Their 11 certainly had more season names.

Well somewhat of a shock with Saudi Arabia scoring late to defeat Japan 2-1. Because this is not a FIFA international window Japan have been unable to call up any of their Europe based players into the squad (except for Ryotaro Meshino who is at Hearts on loan from Manchester City)
South Korea also scored late to defeat China 1-0.

https://youtu.be/CUMJv3AS44IWell done to Thailand. Bahrain gave them so much space. I'm sure we'll mark them tighter and we mustn't keep a high line. Nevertheless they'll be tricky in tight areas. Wish we had Souttar and Timotheu for set plays.

https://youtu.be/WYmIOPzLEMoI'll jynx it and saw Glover would never do what the Syrian keeper did for 1:0. Interesting how Qatar fell off after two very fortunate goals. Credit to Syria.

Ideal scenario is for Japan to make it to the next round, but finish in the same position as us so we avoid them in the quarters, That way we only have to win one more game to qualify for olympics if Japan also win their quarter final game. Results seem to indicate so far that there will be a very slim chance of that happening.

We have some news!
Our next two #AFCU23 group stage matches will be LIVE on Fox Sports, Kayo, and the My Football YouTube!
And Simon Hill has been locked in to commentate.
Can't stand this ad hoc shit. Yes the games will now be shown but keeping fans in a lull for so long and then seeing last minute reactions shows they have no outlook.

Some contact from the Japan defender was checked by VAR (surprised it is at this tournament tbh) so as soft as it is I guess it is fair enough

Hope it's a win for Vietnam. Would like to see what their youth could do in Japan if they qualify.

Bahrain winning 1-0 against Iraq at half time. Would be a good result for us if it stays like that.

Team in Glover Deng Ryan. Mourdoukoutas Gersbach Laws Duncan D'Agostino Italiano Piscopo Bouman
Just guessing formation. Might see Daggers up front too. Not sure. I like it but what's Arnold up to here? Is this a punishment to the first game 11 or did he underestimate Iraq? Has he panicked?
