Or they go to finals to play off against Japan etc?> No. If they get through the group, they go through to the quarter finals of the asian cup. They only go to the olympics if they finish the whole tournament in the top 3, so they have to make the semis at least.

if japan qualify for semi final, 3 remaining semifinalists will go to olympic. If japan fail to make it to semi final, teams whofinish in top 3 will go to olympic together with japan.

Blackwood? particularly arzani, souttar, kalik and de silva these guys are fringe socceroo level Please get your head scanned. Last time I checked when you have a serious injury or haven’t played first team football for months it’s quite difficult to play the sport. ok pal i was only asking why they werent picked as i havent followed them!!! no need for the salt

+xWhere can we catch a decent replay ? Fox Sports had one hour highlights at 11 am today. The coverage was appalling though. They seemed to replay every free kick, throw in, goal kick, and have constant shots of both coaches and the ref - whilst fiming little open play. From what was shown on replay, Thailand was the better team in the first half and Australia better in the second.

Even if he was scoring five goals every week in Perth he would be ruled out of this tournament. McGree is suspended for this tournament. Likewise Atkinson and Wales. WTF Hope achieved this season? Close to nothing.

Uzbekistan defeated China 2-0 and Syria with a big 2-1 victory against Japan sees them top of the group.
China and Japan both have no chance now of making it out of their groups.

+xActually missing a true 10. How on earth did Kalik not get selected? Atkinson is definitely the best right back and once McGree returns things are looking a bit better. Centre back is the problem area. stunned that neither kalik or de silva were picked particularly with arzani and mcgree out.
