How do you miss that layup of a header, I was just getting into Daggers too. I get that 93 minutes in 82% humidity takes its toll obviously.

And we’re through!
Do we want Saudi, Syria or Qatar in the knockout?

FT 1-1 between Thailand and Iraq, both ASEAN Federation teams through, both West Asian teams going home!
Let's see what Group B spits out for us out of Qatar, Saudi or Syria. All pretty much the same level I guess. Won't be easy.
Most likely South Korea in the Semi Final if we make it that far, but of course if we lose the semi we'll still have the last chance saloon of the 3rd place playoff to qualify for Tokyo.

Outstanding result considering our poor quality squad. Throwing players under the bus must be a great upper body workout.

Again another pretty poor performance especially defensively, also our midfield is complete disfunctional in possession, geez how a big loss is Genreau as he’s the only player capable of controlling the tempo and increasing the chances of the midfield functioning better.
Baccus and Duncan don’t work, needed Pasquali or Kalik selected for the squad. Mistake from Arnie?
Again Piscopo was a bight spark and Najjarine was quite good especially playing in those tight spaces and looked to drive forward.
Why haven’t we seen Folami, Toure struggled to get into the attack and did a lot of the grafting work up front.
Gersbach looks to have regressed especially with his crossing, our CBs look shaky.
If it wasn’t for Bahrain’s poor finishing we would have probably lost, like the Thailand game.
We need to improve a lot more if we stand a chance in qualifying.

I'm sure the tourney so far has been a huge learning curve moment for the boys, obviously conditions in Thailand are tougher than Denmark, but this is what they have to get used to if they're going to be a part of qualifying the Socceroos for future World Cups.

Toure seems lost in there. He is ok as sub mayb as a wing but nt a lone striker. Ben Folami should do a better job.

We blew some good chances up front, the one that Toure miscontrolled in the area after a Gersbach cut back, the one where Bouman was one on one with the keeper but bottled it, and Daggers unbelievable miss at the end with his head from 5 metres. Bahrain probably had more chances, but probably only one that was similar in quality (the point blank save from Glover in the first half).

If it wasn’t for Bahrain’s poor finishing we would have probably lost, like the Thailand game. We need to improve a lot more if we stand a chance in qualifying. Let's assume Arnie wasn't able to get Kalik released from Hajduk (if he knows who he is) and while I love what I've seen in the past from Pasquali with his lack of match conditioning he probably would have been toast in Thailand. Very frustrating not to see Folami as at least an option with all the rotation required, someone needs to ask Arnie the question, but we all know that there's nobody who'll do that, even if an answer was forthcoming. Just any transparency in why would be good. Ditto Genreu but I think I heard Hill mention injury for him? The dearth of dedicated CBs in this squad is a big problem. After Deng and Ryan all we have is Mourdoukoutas who's only played like 100 minutes this season across three games, and according to some sources the CM Laws out of position (who only ended up playing for the first half of the Thailand game at CM before getting hooked, didn't see it) and it really shows. I realise Arnie probably couldn't get Souttar and Timotheu, but how about Kye Rowles who's played all season for CCM or Jacob Young from Hoffenheim? We did indeed get lucky with Bahrain free in the box several times, but I suppose you make your own luck so well done the boys.

Frustrating game to watch, hope Arnie is just saving Genreu, expecting to go through this game...
Since Pasquali is a CB / Mid put him somewhere surely better than mourdakoutas?

+xSince Pasquali is a CB / Mid put him somewhere surely better than mourdakoutas? It's true that Jong Ajax did play him as a CB sometimes, especially towards the end of his time with them, and it's not like he's played much less minutes than Mourdokoutas, so you make a fair point.

+xFrustrating game to watch, hope Arnie is just saving Genreu, expecting to go through this game... Since Pasquali is a CB / Mid put him somewhere surely better than mourdakoutas? I’ve been relatively impressed with Mourdoukoutas when I’ve seen him play for WSW, he is only 20 I think so will probably continue to improve, and he probably needs a more experienced CB partner with him at this stage of his career. Likewise Ryan looked pretty good a lot of the time, but makes silly mistakes, but again I think he is only 20 as well?
