+xVictory have dumped Kurz after their abysmal start, confirm my view that he is a very ordinary coach. Whoever is in charge of selecting our coaches, needs to be fired immediately. The fact that Robbie F and Kurz were on the final shortlist is pathetic. Kurz wasn’t on the final short list.

+x+xSo we are nearly half way through January....but no word on anyone being brought in ....time is slipping ....I fear we will muddle through till the end and come about where we are now in the league . Not a good way to appease fans. We have been waiting for some progress for quite a while now. If I wanted to support a perennial near bottom dweller I could just buy a yellow and blue shirt . I agree but what can a club do?
It’s still capped at 23 players so can’t just sign players unless others leave.
They can’t even loan out over age players to make room eg Bowles, Pepper.
They can’t even pay a contract out without it counting towards the cap.
For players under contract they can’t even pay a transfer fee to get them released.
The Lowy model is “wait until next season” and the message to supporters is “don’t worry about Roar, just support the competition generally, like they do in the Big Bash” The club could have ensured it had back-up plans and options available when it signs up a rookie gaffer who has enlisted low grade players from a skill-less football culture. That's what the club could have sensibly done.

If you want a true damning assessment of how we are playing ,read the article by Kone . Only SFC,PG and MC are considered to actually play football properly .Lol Too much run, run ,run and physicality in Australia.
Unfortunately Brisbane Roar has well and truly lost its lustre .Just like CCM.The reason noone wants to come here is Roar have now become a loser team. There is no long term plan. The coach does not garner respect ,players are not happy and the owners ,seem to be cutting corners. There is no real prospect of anything changing for another year, with most of the players locked in for another year. Mediocrity is and will be tolerated. Who wants to walk into that?

The club is control what it does within the cap, imports and player recruitment. Shorter contracts, scope to engage addtional player/s during transfer windows by not over committing to name some. Given the circumstances to close off all avenues to change is pure incompetence.

Sweet FA in terms of updates from the club but seeing as they’re intent on getting rid of O’Toole anything is possible 🤷🏼♂️

+xLOL Brisbane looking at a couple of more lean years by the way things are going.... Joined hip to hip with the owner, the club has for a while moved towards the same operational ranks as the CCM. Can't wait for a second Brisbane team.

So they've thought, hey, we've already got 3 left backs, and sure, this guy can't even make the bench at his current club, and yeah we have other positions that desperately need filling, but hey, let's bring him in! Shame on whoever made that decision!! Fowler probably thinks he's a genius and has brought him in to fix our Striker problem.

All I can think is that one of the other left backs is leaving during this transfer window. I can't see any other reason why they would sign another left back.

+xWell ,he is actually better than what we have at LB.Still not great. But pretty much fits in with the squad. Doesn't matter (and I don't think he is). We shouldn't be signing players who can barely make the bench at other clubs. Unless the club has accepted that they are happy fighting it out for the spoon with CCM and the Jets.
