+x+x+x+x+x+x+xAfter being good in 16/17, Brown was crap for Roar in 17/18 to the extent that O’Toole took over the left back role, and it was commonly thought that O’Toole was the future. Brown has been unable to hold a place at Victory last season, has been worse this season, and has looked average-poor whenever he has played. So what do Roar do? Get him back, and apparently will also be getting rid of O’Toole, so if seems that effectively Brown will replace O’Toole. Progress? Obviously not. FFS, there is plenty of actual reasons not to like the signing of brown, no need to make things up. Brown played 23 x 90 minute games last season for Vic pretty much holding down the LB role for a team that was 1 point of second place for the whole season. he was never going to compete with Traore this season and it is a waste to have a specialist LB on the bench when the you have a 90 minute player in that position already. Brown has been good enough in training to warrant a starting spot out of position in LW at Vic. i am a fan of o'toole but he is out of favour with fowler and will likely be gone soon so we need a replacement. JCP would definitely be above Brown in the pecking order if he was not injured but he is and will likely be out for the majority of the season. If JCP regains fitness then we could play him as CB (JCP plays CB for the national team) as a JCP CB and brown LB is better than bowles CB and JCP LB. Brown may not be a huge improvement over what we have, but O'toole has been deemed dead weight and has not made a squad for ages so may as well bring in someone that fowler will have in contention for a starting spot. Also brown and brattan are good friends. we dont announce player signings while they are under contract (so if we have signed bratts then we wont know until after SFC have played their last game). SFC seem to have already made all their re-signings and bratts wasnt part of it so i think there is a good chance we are in with a shout on Bratts for next season Brattan has verbally agreed to sign with Brisbane already. If true, that the best news I've heard in ages. Brattan and O'Shea would be a good pair to build a midfield around. Do Brattan and Brown have the same agent? Maybe he said you can have Brattan as long as you take Brown? I simply do not believe that Brattan will rejoin BR. Why on earth would he leave SFC, the best side in the comp, to join Brisbane???? Salary cap. Sydney can’t fit him in, however with Oniell moving on, that might throw a spanner in the works. I don’t think Brattan will join but apparently the motivator is Personal (cancer in the family?) and wanting to be close.

+x+xlol at the Brisbane vs Adelaide comparison. Brisbane has achieved far more than Adelaide. Not even close lol. 3 Championships, 2 Premier Plates, made the finals 8 seasons in a row since 2010. Brisbane's consistency in the 2010's is impressive. Imagine only missing the finals once in an entire decade. Simple maths, we have won more trophies, also imagine using a stat like making the finals as some sort of success  FFA Cup lol. You guys are behind Brisbane. Simple. No need to be delusional.

+x+x+x+x+x+xLOL Brisbane looking at a couple of more lean years by the way things are going.... Joined hip to hip with the owner, the club has for a while moved towards the same operational ranks as the CCM. Can't wait for a second Brisbane team. I would support another Brisbane team in a heartbeat. Supported the Roar since game 1 but the Bakries with Aloisi and Fowler have literally destroyed our club. What a fan. 3 years of crap and jumping ship. I suspect he's not alone. How much is our av attendance down by from 5 years ago? There may well be literally thousands of Brisbane football fans who feel the same way. Just a hunch - and that is all it is because I don't believe for a moment that there is any possibility of second Bris team - but I suspect that if another team was established now in Brisbane, there would be a lot of former Roar supporters, utterly over the circus the Roar have become under the Bakries, who would move to the new club. It wouldn't be jumping shipt, because they've already gone from the Roar. It is, unfortunately, going to take years to undo the damage done since Mulvey was fired. Why is it down form 5 years ago? Because the team ain’t winning. It would be jumping ship because there leaving due to the club being crap on the field, which is probably due to the club being run poorly. Watch all the “fans” come back when Brisbane start winning in a few years time. Glory literally had 9 years of dog shit on the field and you guys are complaining about 3 years of mediocrity.... If there was an owner who cared or at least understood Australian football it would make a difference. Club management have to lift their game considerably although they are most likely following owner's directions. But that can't be all true either. It's amateur stuff all the way by the club.
In a resort somewhere

+x+x@ Waz any news for any signings in the coming weeks? My understanding is nothing is a done deal yet and there’s lots of activity, more than we know, but what is in the media is largely correct: Brown as an injury replacement for Courtney-Perkins is just waiting on contracts McDonald is seen as a “holding 9” and replacement for ROD in the starting line up.
Troisi is on but likely a question of Troisi or Brattan, not both.
Inman and “the offer from another A-League club” is false, he’s on a 2 year contract and not leaving without a significant fee.
They are looking at an (unnamed) overseas striker as well, probably for the winter though. The above deals they’re trying to get done now
Cheers, hopefully you guys strengthen. This season is a fucking snooze fest in general. Need teams to strengthen and make the competition a bit more exciting.

There’s no way Troisi will go to another HAL club. He like Inman is on a two year deal and AUFC would surely demand a decent fee for his services.

Troisi not happy at Adelaide? The players are supposedly unhappy because the kit man got sacked for seemingly no reason but I’m not sure if Troisi wants to leave because of that. Edit: Supposed to say are not aren’t.

At a guess, it's because McGree is being played in Troisi's preferred position, and we have all seen how healthy (or unhealthy, depending on your perspective) James' ego is.

I think that the days when an Asian club would throw money at Troisi are gone by at least 2 years. He's 31 and his form has been marginal for several seasons now. He's reached that inevitable point of diminishing career returns. Models and athletes have such brief careers.

Coming home to play sounds great but for someone with ego who has lived around the world and not been home for 12 years, coming home and seeing the same old streets/people again while training in Elizabeth, it may well have hit him that he should try one last "adventure" and thus ends my horribly long sentence.

In general, I can't escape the feeling that James T has never been as good as he so conspicuously feels himself to be.

And agree with others that his most likely destination is overseas, if he leaves.
I don’t know why he’d want to leave Adelaide either but yeah, he’s not as good as he thinks he is but he done his finds new gigs. He’s like a better version of Holloway lol
And if he did sign for Roar he’s unlikely to budge Inman

Troisi is another Aussie enigma. On his best day he can be great. But they are few and far between,That also reflects on how the team performs.I suspect motivation is his biggest problem.A good coach or the right environment might get more out of him.But just who or what that would be ,I dont know. I suspect playing in a lower to midtable team will not get him motivated. In some respects his issues remind me of Craig Goodwin.

I think he's been pretty inconsistent at AU because he needs high quality players around him (MV's midfield last season was ridiculous) and struggles when he has to be the primary creative outlet.

The above deals they’re trying to get done now
Troisi not happy at Adelaide? Troisi wouldn't happy at Juve....just seems that sort of bloke!

+x+x+x+xlol at the Brisbane vs Adelaide comparison. Delusional, you mean like pretending to be a Victory fan? You aint fooling anyone, roar fan in disguise. U can be a fan of 2 clubs.....or is that not allowed in your world. Ive been in here batting for Pheonix for couple years and so happy to see them a shit load better than they were!! and a shit load better than Adelaide

Troisi not happy at Adelaide? The players aren’t supposedly unhappy because the kit man got sacked for seemingly no reason but I’m not sure if Troisi wants to leave because of that. I think Troisi wants to leave because he’s Troisi 😉 Yeah, that's pretty much what I thought too. I'm not at all sure he's a personality I want at Brisbane. No way do we want Troisi.....bad attitude.... remember the phone call celebration to Arnold.....what a dumbfuck.....killed his national selection for ever. Dill?

I can’t think of a more under-whelming signing in the history of BRFC.

At least it is only until the end of the season. Hopefully if he doesn't perform, they've got the guts to let him leave/head to NPL.
