Yeah, I don't think this type of tournament play or specifically these conditions suit his style, but I so hope he can go back to SFC and really forge a career, because I think he is actually a really good finisher, and could be a real threat for us.

Tough game, but the job was done. 

Great finish and run from Toure. The defence splitting assist pass was a beauty too. 

Have to admire Syria’s defensive shape and discipline throughout the game. 

It is a cause for concern we struggle with our central attacking interplay against tight defences though. 

I thought the central striker, Bauman, really struggled
though. 

Deng was usually very good in his defensive work. He was also effective going forwards. 

Gersbach was good going forwards, but his 1v1 defending was mediocre. He put some good crosses into the box. 

Glover was very solid in goals. 

Mourdakooutas was effective on the ball, and improved his defensive work, but needs to improve further in 1v1 defending. 

Piscopo was usually good with the ball at his feet. 

I loved O’Neill’s ruggedness and ball winning qualities when he came on. 

Bacchus made too many poor decisions and ball handling mistakes, causing turnovers. 

Would like to see this team for the semi

No way Duncan should play ever again!!! Kid is rubbish and should be nowhere near this level of football!! Swap him for Metcalfe. He’s physically stronger and 1000 times better on the ball. Duncan gives the ball away too easily. A better team will punish him. Dont forget in the Iraq game, they scored when Metcalfe was subbed off and Duncan came on.
