Well i emailed Adelaide Unites a week ago asking this :

Where on Earth can I find a seating plan for Hindmarsh stadium?

Ticketek website doesn’t have one, though Venuetix used to.

I want to renew my membership along with my father’s and Uncle’s but we want to change seats

This means I have to tell someone what bay etc I would prefer to sit in.

However, without a seating plan this is pretty hard to do

The woman at Ticketek seemed to not even know who Adelaide United was other than that they're in the "A-League soccer league" and she certainly had no information whatsoever on the layout of the ground

Thanks for your time

Davide

Still havent had a reply
Think I will just keep my old seats despite how far away we are in the granstand.
I can always go back to the Northern End when mates decide to come and I want a few bevview with the game...

Try calling the club and asking to speak to the membership manager, I got a call back within 2 days...

Nah, I've already applied to change my seats. But they didn't say when it will be finalised and if I have a say as to which seat in the grandstand I wish to change to. Just wanted to know when they'll let me know.

That's right RedsUnited. I watched it and they mentioned that they are attempting to woo some big names like Man U or Liverpool to play at Adelaide Oval. All talk though at the moment, however they did mention that there might have been initial contact.

That would be awesome to get a big name club in Adelaide. Unfortunately, I just can't really see it happening unless another club can get a big team over here and we convince them to play a game in Adelaide. :(

I'll continue to pray we get a big club over. To be honest, I wouldn't mind ANY international club visiting here - even it happens to be an annual competition between AFC teams from the J.League, K-League, or even Chinese Super League. We need to expand our exposure, and the best way is to engage Asia first and foremost.

J-League clubs used to come to Hindmarsh for pre-season.
So we used to have Tokyo Verdy, Red diamonds etc.playing each other and the state team.

Then of course we had the U20s of Hadjuk Split, Bayern Munich, Ajax, Liverpool, Newcastle, Rangers, Barca., Aus institute plus a few Malaysian U20 teams playing.

One year Kossie coached an Australian U20 team that comprehensively beat Barca!
I also remember an 11man, 185+cm Hadjuk Split team playing an 11man 145cm team from Malaysia!

What happened???

Yeah i watched it... wasn't impressed. Either Ch9 edited the story to make AU look stupid or Sam is a fool.

So we've got 3 weeks to kick off for season 6. When was AU planning on hosting this big game? Sometime between Round 7 and 8?

And why is this story going out now when all the other teams have already organised and are playing their international opponents?

How much will AU charge for this game? $150? I noticed this season that a match day ticket will cost a casual supporter $27!! That is ludicrous!! That's double a movie ticket. That's triple a Super League game. Members will stay members, but we'll lose casual supporters and first timers.

Notice he said "it could happen at a revamped Adelaide Oval"... so does that mean it will happen in 2015?... or maybe he meant never??

Sorry for the cynicism, but this club makes it too easy for me.

You're right RedEyeRob.
I would think buying a membership would give you free entry to pre-season games against Wellington and Perth.

I'll begrudgingly pay $13, but I'm one of AU faithful that'll turn up all the time and not the ones that they're after - I would have thought.

AU management strikes again with inept thinking!

I was pretty stunned that membership did not include the pre season, but I am pretty sure that is because membership card only become 'active' when the season actually starts - lets hope there are no stuff ups from Ticketek because if my card doesn't work at our first match I will be ropable!

BTW I like your new avatar redcup!

I'm also one who will always turn up regardless of price, but that comes from having a well-paid stable job. $13 is a bit rich for a friendly, but hey, I'll fork that out willy-nilly for my club. I do understand the problem with attracting first timers and casual supporters with that though.

I'll be there tomorrow night, but won't be able to attend next week's game - blame it on an all-paid-for-by-the-boss work dinner. :p

Sadly no, my wife told me last night she is going to dinner with the girls from her mums group :(

Someone better take a video camera and record the game for me!

I guess it's time to start blogging again. Is it just me or is it all seeming a bit underwhelming at AU at the moment. New coach (about whom we know nothing) and new season (just after the World Cup marathon) but it all seems a bit stale.

Maybe I just need to get my Hindmarsh fix again?
