Neither me, my dad or my uncle could get in with our cards. We paid for our tickets months ago. We did not use the secong pointless ticket they sent us. because of thsi forum i made sure all three of us brought the right ones. They were creating a list of all the membership numbers that did not work and assured us they would rectify it. I walked in beofre 7pm and the list was already looking VERY imposing, I'd hate to think what it looked like by kick-off. A LOT of disgruntled fans. A LOT.

I was on that list as well, pretty stupid on Ticketek's behalf. AUFC made to look foolish by our ticketing agent once again!

I didnt go to the game on Friday as, I'll admit, Im a fairweather supporter. With Flores out and it freezing outside, I opted to watch it from home in front of the heater with a nice wine. I tend to go to about 30-40% of matches each year, mostly only during daylight saving months and when I can wear my reds top without catching a cold or for the AFC matches. Out of the 10 or so people I know who would go to over 5 games a season, only 3 of them have season passes. The rest are like me, only attending about a third to half of all home games. I like the flexibility of not going when I am knackered at the end of the week, it is crap weather, or if we are playing crap football that is barely watchable (like last year).

I guess I was one of the few who had no problems with my member card. :)
Though having said that, I now have 3 cards at home.

AUFC hotline with Ticketek is calling all members to see if their card worked or not and are asking for your PAX number in order to activate the card. Luckily mine was on page 122 of this thread so i could tell them ;)

I don't think they have been sent yet, I ordered mine for the December game. Last year they were sent immediately to my email account, I think that Ticketek only send them out the week of the game though...

I got my new 'correct' card in the mail today. $50 says it won't work when I try to get in with it though. I now have three cards lying around all accompanied by letters from Travis Dodd telling me how delightful it is to have me on board.
With the money the club spent sending out all these useless cards, we probably could have bought a new striker.

I really hate them doing this, as years ago Australia Post stuffed up sending on a parcel of mine for some innocuous reason. I had to drive to Melbourne to free it from their grasp!! So when I don't get mail that I'm expecting, I ALWAYS think of the worst scenario. - Oh the stress!@ RU I didn't have any trouble with my card either. As I went in really early, maybe that's the reason. @ducky42, we need a fast, ball playing striker too, a Fernando Rech type marquee, but between the club and the FFA I reckon we've no chance!! I asked her about the FNS tix and she said Id get a call next week letting me know whetehr I have to pick them up at the gate or get them sent out.

Quote:'The Reds Said' - Marcos Flores Friday, 13 August 2010 Where has the ‘Reds Said’ been I hear you say? No need to worry, Adelaide United’s online Q&A is back for season six of the Hyundai A-League and to kick off proceedings, we’ve got the Reds’ Argentinean wizard Marcos Flores. The window to email Marcos your question is now open. ‘The Reds Said’ is your chance to find out more about United’s stars on and off the field by asking them the questions that you want to know answers to. At just 24, Marcos Flores has arguably got his best football still in front of him. Born in Reconquista, a small city of 66,000 people in the north west of Argentina, Flores, like the majority of South American kids, grew up with a passion for football. He would practise his skills in the streets and before long, he quickly made his way through the junior ranks at Union Santa Fe before joining Newell’s Old Boys at the age of 21, a club that had previously occupied the likes of Diego Maradona and Lionel Messi. But after just one season, he returned to Union Santa Fe before leaving his homeland for the first time in 2009 to join Chilean side Curico Unido. And it was here that Adelaide United made its move to lure him to South Australia. Flores had been on United’s radar for over a year but one reason and another kept him from leaving South America. Eventually he arrived in Adelaide in January of this year, playing in United’s final two Hyundai A-League games of last season, in which the Reds won both. Notably, with Flores settling in and becoming more familiar with his new teammates and surroundings, the Reds went on to win their opening three AFC Champions League matches. In a recent feature article in The Sunday Mail, Flores explained how a football should be treated like a man treats his girlfriend, emphasising the point that you would be angry if the opposing team had possession of her. This is just one of many philosophies Flores has on the world game, his mind constantly ticking over about different tactics and strategies of how the game can, and should, be played. He has warmed to Adelaide and has a genuine love for the city and the Adelaide United Football Club. But he is not here for a holiday and is determined to taste success as he puts everything he has got into lifting the Reds to the top of the Hyundai A-League. His English has improved significantly from when he first arrived, highlighting his intent to fit into his new home town. After playing for teams that wear red, Flores believes it was his destiny to come to United, and with the creative midfielder signed to the Reds until at least the end of the 2011/12 season, he has the potential to leave a lasting memory in Adelaide. The window to post Marcos your question is now open and will close at 12pm Wednesday, August 18, so get your question or comment in now and make sure you’re at the head of the queue to hear from the Reds’ Argentinean playmaker. Marcos’ answers will be published on www.adelaideunited.com.au on Thursday afternoon, August 19 ahead of the Reds’ home game against Hyundai A-League newcomers Melbourne Heart at Hindmarsh Stadium on August 20. http://www.adelaideunited.com.au/default.aspx?s=newsdisplay&id=34655

I haven't had anyone call me regarding my card, possibly because I had no problem with it.
Anyway, I asked Flores a question, so hopefully mine gets posted. :D

Who is resposible?
During the ACL campaign Adelaide signed promising rising star Dane Milovanovic. He had played for Adelaide's youth team and had shown that he was good enough to make the transition. However, Brisbanr Roar signed him for the 2010/11 season.
With Boogard injured he would have been a shoe in, IMO.
Adelaide has signed lads from Melbourne and Sydney while overlooking local lads with proven ability. Way to get locals to aspire for their home city team!
Why??? Who is responsible? The finger must be pointed at Petrillo, but it may be someone else? If it is Petrillo we need someone to replace him, as it's been going on way too long - Mori, Pezos, Pelligrino, Agius, Malik..........Ivan Karlovic was also sounded out by Perth. I'm pretty sure we wouldn't have had Qu or Rech if Kosmina hadn't been a mouthy, brash guy.

I mean it's entirely possible, knowing our circumstances, and FootballNews forums are usually quite good at getting the inside goss on our youth players and at the state level.

Be interesting to see how Shin goes if he's gonna start. He must be doing something right at training.

Coolen is probably experimenting by giving Shin a starting spot. I still have high hopes for Shin, but let's hope my faith is not misplaced. :D
Shin to do as redcup suggested. :D

I think it was Shin's finest hour at Adelaide, as he looked promising in the first half. However, he lost the plot again in the second half, as did Flores and Pantelis in midfield, where we were badly overrun after Arnold rang the changes in the Mariners side.
When is Flores ever going to be fit enough to impose himself on a game for 90 mins? Surely he should be fit by now? Didn't he eat enough fat steaks and cow pies when he was growing up in Argentina....?

Yeah, Shin did amazingly well to provide cover for the makeshift RB in Hughes. Shin's closing down of the opposition has improved greatly, so I'm wondering if we'll see him start again this Friday. With Hughes suspended this week, I'm assuming Reid will be forced to move into RB, and Flores will move into centre mid, with Ramsay and Shin on the wide mids.
I'm still not sold on Watson, but I guess he hasn't had much game time to show us what he's got.
Overall, I'm happy we at least got a point in Gosford, but we really should have scored a second early in the second half to close it off with an away 3 points.
