I think we'll almost certainly be signing Milovanovic this week as injury cover seeing as we don't even have enough players to field a full team.

I hope the people that need to know read these posts.

My patience is wearing very thin.
Today we hear that Vukovic is to be signed as injury replacement by Phoenix.
Victory have a new striker.
Gold coast seem to get injury replacements the moment one of their players is injured.

Adelaide United have so many injured players yet no new signings.
Why??

I'm a supporter who has been a member since 2004.
Where Adelaide were competitive, lack of action means we're lucky there's no promotion/demotion.

C'mon board - PULL YOUR FINGER OUT!!

FFA give us enough to stop from folding
That's it

They actually say they will provide funds to sign injury replacements and I believe have even come out once or twice saying a marquee is an option(?)

But you can bet THEIR bottom dollar that the signings wouldn't be any classier than any kids we could promote.

Was actually a nice fluff piece in the 'tiser the other day bout us inviting a few juniors to train for a week or so to check em out and for the experience. All for this.

Unfortunately, looks like rain and low temperatures will keep the crowd down again... don't know when we will crack that magic 10k mark at this rate!

I honestly can't see where the goals are going to come from tonight- from either side! Maybe a stroke of luck will go our way (again!)

Hope Monterosso gets a run and score.
Just maybe the over-paid SvD will lift next game.

Will go along even though AU are down to bare bones and it looks like it will be wet & cold, just hope the players give their all for the team.
This is the kind of stuff that defines spirit & guts!

I wont be at the game unfortunately because my mother-in-law decided to have her birthday dinner tonight  so I am sure that AUFC will play brilliantly and smash 4 past MH.

Getting pumped for the game tonight. It's absolutely pouring down outside so I'm not expecting a big turn out. I'll be pleasantly surprised if we manage even 8k. A shame because we're playing the 'new kid on the block'.

Well, rain or no rain, I'll be there with the family (6 all up) to watch the Reds rain goals down upon Heart. Poor old General will have to gnash his teeth as we retell the glorious triumph on the forums. :d

3-1 to us. Leckie to score. Pants to score. Corthwaite to come off the bench and score. Heart to fluke a lucky goal.

Got my red socks on and I'm ready to roll.

Would prefer no rain thanks.

It's not raining here at Rose Park...

I will indeed be gnashing my teeth and sneaking updates on my mobile (may 'borrow' my wifes phone so I can have the ABC digital stream...).

Frankly though I will take missing the game as long as we win.

Even playing out of position Flores put through some awesome balls.
His last to Ramsey was beautiful.

With Ramsey, Leckie and Flores ( who was never offside - I mean how can you collect the ball in front of the defender, beat him and finish? )who needs SvD?

KEEP IT COMING RINI!!
( would have been nice for Monty to score with his 1st touch, just a bit too cold just off the bench @ 90min mark methinks )

Fantastic win to the Reds, and credit to the 7k who turned up at Hindmarsh in horrible, freezing weather...

Problem for Coolen: How to fit SvD into that side now.. when it seems obvious that he slows things down!

Leave him out. Let him get better. And then change it up when tactics need to be changed.

For me, Flores did a great job holding the ball up up front. And then we had Pantelis, Leckie and Ramsay all playing off him. It was great to see the mids and fullbacks flood forward to pressure the opposition goal.

Awesome night last night despite having my shoes full of water. The youngsters were on fire, great to see us playing good attacking football.

Only bad thing is that we have to wait 3 weeks for our next home game which will be weird because it's on a Saturday and I won't have to rush after work to get there :D

Let's hope we can keep it up for the rest of the season. Last season whenever we put in a decent performance, it usually only last for about 60 minutes and we would fall away at the end.

EDIT: In other news, there was a nice shot on tv of me celebrating after we scored the first goal.

I said that it was going to be a great game because I wasn't there!

Even crazier was my in-laws didn't include me in their booking cause they assumed I would be at the game!

OK I'm going to put myself out there, after that Heart game I reckon our lineup should be:

Hugene

Mullen Flakes Fyfe Cassio

Hughes Reid
Flores

Leckie Ramsay
SvD

Bench

Dodd, Pantellis, Monterosso, Bira

IMO Watson is not good enough for A-league.

I wouldn't have Hughes and Reid on at the same time in the same position. I'd rather have one of them on and Shin or Pantelis on at the same time too. van Dijk will be a good centre forward if we want to revert to our target man approach. For me, if we're playing with 3 in the front line, I'd rather a more mobile centre forward, such as Monterosso.

With the squad that we have, when everyone is back fit, there are potentially 2 distinct lineups which can be used to different game plans.

What are your thoughts on Matthew Mullen, guys?

In my opinion, he's still not good enough for the first squad. Poor touch compounded by lack of drive makes him only good as a stop-gap solution whilst we have players out with injury.

He made no impact and Shin was doing well. Shouldn't have been taken off.

Mind you, he didn't make a hash of a brilliant goal-scoring opportunity like another Reds sub.... Monte looked glacial beside Leckie and Ramsey.

Just booked my flights and accomodation for the Heart away match in November, can't wait! :D

I guess it's not all bad with all these injuries we've been getting. At least Shin and some of the other young guys are getting a good run in the senior team, a good chance to see what they've got. I've been pretty impressed with Shin, tbh.

I'm very tempted to go too. $24/$27 flights to and from Melbourne with Tiger, but I'm not too sure I want to fly with Tiger - I actually want to get there as scheduled.
