As much as I want Flores back as soon as possible, I hope he's not risked this Friday, unless it's for a small impact spell off the bench.
Dodd and Barbiero definitely look like they're itching to get back into the starting lineups. As for Keenan, he is one of the most versatile players we have had in years. We really need to keep him - we can't risk losing another defender to injury or else we will lack the cover.

Hey RU, hit up the AUFC twitter account and tell them they are crazy to let Keenan go - though I know it is the FFA who have forced our hand - bastards

Pity we weren't losing him soon too! =p~

Keenan is a utility player, and a very good one at that - I don't want him as a 1st name on sheet - I want him there to cover other players. As for Pants, he can keep proving me wrong on a weekly basis and I wont mind - but I think we would be better off having Ramsay on the pitch every week to give him the same opportunity that Leckie got last season.

Rumour has it we may have Culina Jr here at Hindmarsh next season... all dependent on a few factors: - Gold Coast folds - we get owners - we get sponsors - we earn an ACL spot See here: http://au.fourfourtwo.com/forums/default.aspx?g=posts&t=43317

How's the publicity over there in Adelaide? What's the mood? And by the way my family and I ( I'm 13) went on a drive to your pretty city of Adelaide on the holidays and stayed at West Lakes. Nice city you got guys, and surprised nobody jumped on our car as our number plate clearly said Victoria-The place to be

Apparently Seven News will be doing an "exclusive" interview with Cassio tomorrow night about his form and Socceroos aspirations. I'd suspect The Advertiser are doing their obligatory single or double page spreads in the sports sections every day, but I can't confirm that.

I can confirm that there is a minimum 1 page on AUFC, and we are also getting a second page on the EPL. Horse racing has taken over most of the sports section though.

Speaking of radio I have heard ads on Nova and also there are couple of the news readers on Fresh who are into football so include an AUFC highlight in their bulletins. Haven't heard much on Life though - which does disapoint me as I only listen to it when the kids are in the car.

Hope Dodd is not out for too long, If the rumours are correct it looks like we'll be without Leckie after January, AND with Hugene possibly being called up for the NT we'll have our backs to the wall - but I think Birighitti will do a good job between the sticks if called upon.
Gotto amass as many points as possible, those orange mob breathing down our neck.
I still have a gut feeling that we're going to emulate our 1st season and have it wrapped up by mid Jan. \:d/

From the club's Facebook: Quote:2009 FFA U/20 Young Player of the Year and current Olyroo squad member Daniel Mullen has just penned a 2 year extension to stay a Red! Good to see we're finally making moves to secure our boys.

Good to see we're finally making moves to secure our boys. Indeed. Now to get Leckie to do the same...! Does anyone recall what happened with Djite & Burns? It was either one or both of them, but I can recall there being a kind of repay the club faith contract signing with the aim to ensure that AUFC would recieve a decent transfer fee for them, rather than them leaving for free at their current contract expiry date. Anyone remember that? We need to convince Leckie to do the same thing!!

Edited by redcup: 23/10/2010 11:57:16 PM Especially considering how many away games the Roar have in the second half of the season (9) and how many home games we have (9). If the Roar haven't overtaken us by the half way point of the season I don't think they will

Seems we have Keenan back with us after Leckie's injury. Quote: Leckie injury decision later today TEENAGE soccer sensation Mathew Leckie is expected to told the extent of the injury to his left knee later today following scans this morning. Leckie, 19, was forced from the ground at Etihad Stadium in Adelaide United's losing 2-1 clash with Melbourne Victory following a come-from behind above knee tackle from Surat Sukha 15 minutes into the match. Club officials are hoping for a positive outcome, the best possible result is a ruptured medial ligament which would sideline the young player, who has just signed with German Bundesliga club, Borussia Moenchengladbach, for at least eight weeks. The worst case scenario is a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) which would put the young player out for a year and could possibly endanger a move to Europe. The severity of the tackle forced Leckie's knee to buckle and although he did make an attempt to return to the field was unable to continue from the 20-minute mark. Joe Keenan has been rushed back into the Adelaide United squad as an injury replacement for the injured Leckie. He trained impressively with the Reds in this morning's session and rejoins the club after his short-term contract was terminated by FFA a fortnight ago. Medial ligament damage is not as bad as an anterior cruciate ligament injury (which often means a complete replacement is needed). We're looking at 8 weeks off minimum at the moment.

Shame about leckie, although the tackle was dodgy I really doubt Sukha would've intentionally done that. Muscat... i'd have a hard job of excusing but that probably the hardest tackle surats ever done.
Hope he gets up and playing ASAP and into the socceroo squag ASAP.
