Oh and anyone heard anything RE: ACL? Val said yesterday in the Tiser that the AFC would make a decision today.
Anyone bought their tickets yet or are you waiting for confirmation?

[quote=liverpoolfan2010 Doubt we will get rini back just moved over seas with his family and has a full time job probably making more money.
i think next year our best bet is to stay with kosmina give him a year at least we know we will play to an ok standard and make finals under him.
then after that year see who is about.
I do not see the point of axing someone for someone who MIGHT do better then john when we know what john can do.
in other news this whole champions league debacle apparently is they become apart of the IPL before the champions league starts were out there in
if they stay int he rebel league we go in.[/quote]
I'm praying you meant Stubbins! If that muppet Rini goes anywhere near my club again I will not be accountable for my actions

Joe Mullen? Serg Melta? - locals who have played at the highest national level and in the case of Joe coached a winning team.

Well he certainly was expecting to be in charge of GCU eventually from his comments, just was expecting it to happen this quickly! So he is certainly very sure of his own ability.

What about Mulvey from GCU? He did wonders with their youth team as we can see in their senior team. He has a bit of an ego like Kossie but that might be good in terms of tackling a few attitude readjustments that need to happen.
Of course he might be at GCU next season if they are still around but if he signed for us I wouldn't be chucking a wobbly.

I'd take Kossie over JvS any day of the week. I didn't say I wanted JVS, I said I wanted someone with a proven track record of success.

Please just give us someone who is acquainted with the modern game. I'd be interested in Popovic coming back from Crystal Palace to manage us but that'd be about as likely as Hiddink really. At this point we're not that attractive so we'll need someone with real self-confidence.

Will definitely be glad to see the back of this season, I have been at the anger stage since we gifted that game to Central Coast over there, but starting to drift towards apathy. Will be disappointed if we end up going with Kossie, don't see him being a long term fix, but I think thats highly likely what will happen. I was really disappointed when I read in the paper that they agreed not to look at other options while Kossie was in this caretaker phase. Seems pretty stupid, this should have been a free few months to scour the market extensively to get in early and at least see whats out there.

I wouldnt mind a year like the Heart have had - watching a younger team develop is interesting even if you don't win every game. It's frustrating watching the Reds play at the moment because in theory many of our players should be justifying their big paychecks and long careers.
Seeing the tizer article about Kossie maybe staying on after the end of this season makes me nervous, as many have said he needs to be the director, or some other position; definitely not the coach.

I think the owners will be once bitten, twice shy. I think the most likely scenario is that Kossie is kept on next season (one year deal). A more probable scenario is we get a young aussie coach (e.g. an Okon or an assistant in the club) and make Kossie a mentor in a "Director of Football" position. Personally I like the second option but it seems to me we have a few egos in our club. Can a young coach manage that? Watching players chuck tantrums for being dragged has been one of many things I hate seeing happening at my club.

Yes, but look on the bright side. If we get kicked out we'll have a really long pre-season so that we can be ready and raring to go next year. That's always gonna work....isn't it? Actually, now that I think about it......](*,)

Even though situation seems dire, I always hold onto a sliver of hope. See I'm in the same boat but knowing our spectacualrly crapola season we are likely to be kicked out of the ACL tommorow.

mcjules wrote:Just been such a disappointing season. Can really see some promise with the team and similar to a couple of years ago when we finished last, a couple of key personnel changes could have us really firing. Whether that will happen or not is another thing. After watching Friday night, I'd like to take this comment back. We would need more than a couple key personnel changes. We have too many "luxury" players, by that I mean are ok going forward but offer little defending. Ramsay is a classic example (but certainly not alone), how many times have we conceded goals this season due to him being out of position? Far too many IMO.
