Coopers is front of shirt sponsor. Stratco is back of shirt. Didn't Coopers pay $200k+ for front of shirt sponsorship for the final nine matches last season? Hope we're making a packet out of them this season.

Coopers is front of shirt sponsor. Stratco is back of shirt. Does that mean they released new strips then? Great to see Coopers back, same with Stratco and good on them, now you need the BHP's and local businesses to pump some money in. Surely they should sell the naming rights to Hindmarsh for a bit of money to finance a big signing although its controlled by govt so money would go to them? I dunno, just suggesting so that we have a better AUFC :) Probably would if AU owned the stadium. They don't, state govt does. Here's an idea. Set up a business plan for the club to buy the stadium, which includes selling the naming rights making enough money to cover the interest payments, at the very least. Then whatever we make at the gate pays off the loan instead of paying off the rent. The club wont be any worse off and will own their own stadium.

very happy about the Bianco and Moriarty moves. One day in our AU clubrooms, I'd love for there to be a wall for 'our' hall of fame and another wall dedicated to the greats of SA football, from your Moriarty's to your Vearts and Tobins, Ivanovic and Perin, even a little segment about how Adelaide City used to rule the NSL on a regular basis. I still love bringing up the 4-0 that Marconi coughed up at Norwood Oval in the NSL finals to Andy Harper whenever I get the chance. Adelaide City did a lot of good in laying some ground work for Adelaide United to be considered as important a part of Adelaide's sporting landscape as it is.

Stadium probably cost $30 million lets say as a round number, sell naming rights of stadium for $6 million for 10 years. Find $4 million cash from owners/investors/gov't/anyone who wants a peice. Stadium burden cost on AUFC is now only $20m. Issue $20m worth of bonds, with a non-negotiable interest of 2% per financial year, thats 400,000 a year interest so pay back 900,000 a year. That's $1m a season which would be less than club is being charged to hire it per season. Spread over the 13 home games, that figure is less than 100,000 a game which is far far less than club is being charged. Take average home gate of say 10,000 to make it easy, average ticket price of $25 thats $250,000 revenue per game, minus 100,000 a game for loan giving match-day profit not including all drinks and merchandise and food profits which would amount to a further approx 50k, thats a $200k match day profit and stadium payed off in less than 20 years. That's how I would do it. God I love this stuff! How do I get to be a football club Executive anyone?! I absolutely love this kind of thing!

In the UK they try and sell them all or have no part in them! Here they're all owned by the gov't i cant think of any club that owns its own!

Quote:Captain sponsorship natural fit for V.I.P. Monday, 29 August 2011 V.I.P. Home Services is proud to be affiliated with the Adelaide United captain. Considering what V.I.P. Home Services prides itself on being as an organisation, it is no surprise they have committed to sponsoring Reds captain Jon McKain this season. V.I.P. Australia Founding Chairman Bill Vis, who established the popular franchise in Adelaide in 1972, believes aligns with the traits and qualities captains and leaders of teams are renowned for. “We were very keen on the captain sponsorship because captains are leaders of teams and at V.I.P. we are a leader of a thousand franchises who specialise in home cleaning and lawn mowing, so we are captains in our own right and that’s why we’re very keen sponsoring coaches and captains,” Vis said. Displaying the V.I.P. logo on his shirt collar, newly appointed Reds captain Jon McKain met Vis for the first time on the weekend, and the V.I.P. Chairman backs up the central defender’s selection. “I think it has got to be a win-win situation for both and I think it can be and looks like it is going to be because having met Jon only for a short time, he did a very good job with the media conference, he sounds very knowledgeable and he’s played in other countries and at other clubs, so he is going to be a great asset for Adelaide United,” Vis said. In what is the first time V.I.P. Australia has associated itself with a Hyundai A-League club, Vis is excited about the opportunities and exposure the partnership will provide for the franchise throughout the season. Despite being a self confessed AFL (Australian Rules football) follower who also has a great interest in ice hockey, Vis looks forward to experiencing the excitement and atmosphere that is guaranteed to surround Adelaide United and the Hyundai A-League in what is the most anticipated season yet. “I’m an ice hockey player myself and an AFL supporter, but I’ve always had an interest in football and I am getting pretty pumped and looking forward to coming down to Hindmarsh and watching the games during the year,” Vis said. V.I.P. Home service cover nine categories, including garden maintenance and lawn mowing, home cleaning, commercial cleaning, carpet cleaning, window cleaning, handyman, tree and stump removal, pool care and mobile loan consulting.
