I wouldn't call Tommy Oar much of a loss to be honest.

Small clubs losing players is a natural cycle in Football but Mariners have had it easy for 15 years with the salary cap and all the other stupid rules forcing everyone else to play at their level. If they still can't compete then tough shit. There are a multiple NPL clubs that would give anything to be in the league and they certainly wouldn't be in definately squatting on the cap floor.

They need a new owner. One that will invest the full cap + marquees and coaches.
They're currently an amateur club.

They need a new owner, it would like to see the FFA or a-league clubs who ever has control of the league try to help them but we don't know who is running the ship!
Looks like the old FFA board put an grenade with the Fox deal where they can't all of a sudden remove it for the clubs sake in running its own ship...
Give them assistance with players such as every a-league club loan its best young player or someone that could fund its foreign contingent if the tightarse owner doesn't want to do it but otherwise the owner needs to go as he's becoming a stain.

If transfers between clubs are allowed it opens up a brand new revenue stream for Charlesworth & Co. Needs to happen!

Charlesworth has nothing to lose regards being out of the top flight of our game when coming last. For me this system is the joke of it all. Its not football.

If the Mariners are playing with the best of the rest Australian talent - will the 2 step process work. Or are the NPL teams paying that much more for their semi pro's

What’s currently in this for the owner? Does he get to write of business losses in his tax returns, of what? They could always sell their licence to Canberra, we still might have enough time to be ready for next season, although it would be cutting it fine.

What does he get from low gate takings game in game out ? etcetc, buggered if I know. In the back of my mind I wonder what his taking is from his academies....... https://www.ccmariners.com.au/sites/ccm/files/2018-01/Academy%20Presentation%20UPDATE%2025-1-18.pdfWonder what it costs Mummys from U8's SAP/YL to 16's + girls/women for a number of years. Then a recently dis solved Western Mariners (Bathurst) - my son played against them for years. Then the North Shore Mariners (Northbridgefc) link - countless ages/teams ripping parents. Those not selected for Rep but still paying Rep fees ($2k up) play in Association Club Football. Surely he's getting a cut from that as well.

I think Oar is well and truly past it, but the team was putting in more fight before his departure was announced. He was captaining them at the time.

Now that an unofficial cash only committee has been formed for now, chaired by Syd fc's Barlow, along with vice chairs Pearce, Fong baby and Di Pietro, O'Rourke answers to them, acting on behalf of all the clubs in the ALeague, and the committee can vote the Mariners license to go elsewhere, or instead, Charlesworth to sell his shares and go to Pluto.

Mariners thrown a lifesaverCentral Coast Mariners are on track to be branded with their fourth wooden spoon in six years after slumping to bottom of the table after their 2-0 loss to Adelaide last week, putting them at a legal risk of having their licence revoked on the grounds of poor performances. Minimum performance measures in A-League participation agreements with FFA suggest a club can be "relegated" for finishing bottom of the table three years in a row, or four times out of six seasons. But A-League boss Greg O'Rourke told The Hairdryer the competition's new management won't be looking to invoke its power to remove the Mariners should they finish last again."We have no intention to use ladder position to determine the licence," he said. "What we are committed to do is work with clubs on the bottom of the ladder to take new initiatives to improve their competitiveness."Former FFA chief David Gallop was not as lenient towards repeated poor performance. When News Corp revealed the clauses last year, Gallop said: "The proper management of any league requires KPIs that assist the continued good performance of the constituent clubs and contribute to the strength of the league as a whole."

i dont think the CCM should be relegated, not while we are expanding our competition but they do need to be sanctioned for being shit for a long time.
i would just disqualify them from the FFA cup.

Charlesworth got the idea from the movie Major League. Play bad enough and they’ve will be able to relocate the franchise https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=LpZ3LODBK7E

+xI got free tickets to the mariners vs city game for free from maccas. After SFC & MVFC , haven't the CCM played in the most grand finals ? Yes the past few years have been rank, but the players they have produced or lost and the amount of finals they have played , they have been a success story.

I have them equal 2nd in that regard: Victory - 5 Sydney FC - 4 Mariners - 4 Brisbane -3 WSW - 3 Adelaide - 3 Perth - 2 Jets - 2 Pretty decent effort. However their last GF appearance was 7 years ago and have "won" 3 wooden spoons since then.
