I'll be at home watching on the telly but the excitement levels have reached the point that I'm yelling at my calendar and physically threatening my clocks to go faster.

Don't know about you guys but wasn't entirely happy with Friday's performance. Felt Victory totally bossed us in the first half. We lacked a bit of control in the middle of the park. Wasn't thrilled with Ramsay's performance either. He still doesn't comepletely understand Cassio's wavelength on the left. I though Lev had a quiet game also.
Some good signs as well. Pancho showed some real hunger and nice touch's, even though I would have liked him to be a bit more assertive and Mullen played really well I thought.
Victory wouldn't have been entirely stoked either. How the fuck Pondeljak can still get a game is beyond me. He was pants.
Overall I didn't think it was a flash game from either side. It was a pre-season game but still....

Mullen-McKain pairing in the centre of defence? Sounds good to me. Mullen is one who likes to push forward given the chance, so will work well as McKain's partner. They will be our Pique-Puyol combo...
I liked the look of Vidosic and Ricardo on at the same time. Provided more forward motion when they both were on.

ADELAIDE United coach Rini Coolen has his new miracle man.
Argentine Marcos Flores once wowed the Hindmarsh faithful as the Reds' No. 10 but it was Andy Slory who upstaged Harry Kewell's A-League premiere with a 40th minute run and glory strike on Friday night. Dutch international Slory was pencilled in on a wing when purchased by Coolen last season but his switch to the playmaker's role adrift of striker Serginho van Dijk paid off immediately against Melbourne Victory. "We changed after 30 minutes and put Slory as the No. 10 with a little more space behind Serg," said Coolen, reflecting on the 1-1 draw in front of 10,000 fans. "After a few minutes he showed how dangerous he can be using that space, he's a very good finisher." Coolen was forced to alter his method of attack with power forward Bruce Djite sidelined by a hamstring strain. Diminutive Zenon Caravella assumed the creative portfolio while Iain Ramsay was promoted to the left. Adelaide has had an unblemished pre-season but Coolen will be comforted knowing he has Slory as the game-breaker and can change tack mid-game should anything happen to strikers Djite, Van Dijk or the actual No. 10 - Socceroo Dario Vidosic. Slory limped out of Adelaide's finals campaign in the Gold Coast United loss then copped a left-knee strain against the same club in a pre-season friendly two weeks ago. However, Coolen believes the former Feyenoord cult-figure will showcase the talent that earned two Dutch caps in 2007. "Hopefully he stays fit and everybody can see Andy Slory play. It is the first game he has played at this level for more than 60 minutes for a while," said Coolen. An epic pre-season is now over and the Reds can now focus on the their away season opener against Perth Glory on October 9. Draws in the past two weeks with Gold Coast, Victory and a 3-0 thumping of Brisbane augur well for Coolen's new-look squad. More supply and imagination in the final third is his only demand. "We missed Spase Dilevski who we lost in the warm-up, which also hurt our midfield but we have to create a few more chances. We definitely have to improve in a few things," said Coolen, set to offer former Sydney FC stopper Antony Golec a deal after a two-week trial. http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/sport/soccer/finally-some-glory-for-adelaides-any-slory/story-e6frectc-1226146201258Edited by waggzzz2: 26/9/2011 10:20:06 AM

So I paid for membership and e-mailed Matt Rossi a couple of weeks ago asking how members could be recognised by the club when voting, buying finals tickets etc. He explained that the hard copy would be having THE KEY-RING. He told me that the ring would be posted to me.
After 14 days had passed and I still hadn't received anything via post, I rang the club shop and told them what Matt had told me. I was put on hold, then told that I must come in and pick it up.
Today I went in, and WITHOUT having to show any ID or having my name ticked off a hard-copy, I was just given a key-ring. ( anybody off the street could have done what I did - ask for a key-ring and just get it handed to them )
So I drove home thinking what I'd got wasn't really all that special. Then the mail arrived and I had another key-ring and sticker?? So now I've paid for one membership and have TWO of these " special " key-rings
Anyone want a membership key-ring for postage cost? All those club benefits for 55cents?
A case of left hand not knowing what right hand is doing. Surely this thing isn't that difficult?
Makes me wonder about what sort of balls up will happen when Ticketec get involved

It's not working out very well for them is it
Most people have seen this "membership" for the quick last ditch money grab that it probably is. After the initial excitement has died down I really DO think it should have just been part of the "season ticket" privileges.
season ticket holders invest a hell of a lot more time and money than people tipping in a $60 fee. This could have been just an overseas/interstate membership deal.
I can't even remember now, did I get a sticker with my season ticket in the mail? Hope my girlfriend hasn't thrown it away....

No worries and I checked out my receipt again and have found my member number, so I think both you and davidbloop would still not been listed even with the magic key-ring.
Hope you get a good deal with your Sydney membership.
Great to hear about Susak, there's going to be a lot of fighting for spots in the defense now that there's quality everywhere.

How the hell is Rini going to decide who sits on the bench. It's going to be tough. Out of all the high quality players that could be benched, it'd be a tough call. Anyway now with Susak and Golec here's my starting XI (and damn it was tough to pick that. Really wanted to put Usucar and Dilevski onto the lineup but couldn't find the room!)

Attention:
For Adelaide United supporters going to the round one game in Perth please be advised I have now aquired the 50 free tickets that I will be giving away outside gate 3 (vanbasten88 I will save you a ticket)
Please remember I have only purchase general admission tickets and since the Adelaide United supporters bay (Eastern stand 13 & 14) according to Perth glory is classed as Gold Reserved it may not guarantee you a seat in the away bay as the closest general admission seat next to the away bay is (southern stand 1 aka S1)
I am trying to contact Perth Glory this week to discuss as I know we could get up to 50 travelling supporters for this game. I want to see if they can hold bay S1 should any of you's want a free ticket from me otherwise my advice is to buy a ticket in the away bay.
I understand we have away supporters bays but I for the life of me can't understand Perth glory's stance with regard to it being Gold reserved. it was never the case before it used to be unreserved general admission.
I will speak to the club and let you know but just the heads up for anybody going over.
And I will be wearing my Portland Timbers rose coloured jersey.
