i don't know how all you lads bother listening to 5AA Sports.
they bring on AU players to suck in the soccer fans and then criticize the game to appease themselves and the ARF fans.
I haven't listened to that show in years. They're full of shit.

Just had a listen to the Triple M interview with Mullen and Birighitti. Ricciuto and Dittmar were very good to the boys. I'm impressed (apart from that one slip where they said the boys were from Adelaide City).

Well...That went well
We need to get our midfield sorted pronto or Friday is not going to be pretty. We looked really slooooooooow tonight. Also Rini needed to make some changes quicker when Ferguson brought on his subs. Fergie outplayed him tonight. God that was hard to type
Like I mentioned elsewhere we looked the least prepared for the season start today. Weird and worrying

We should have taken off either Djite or SVD and brought on Usucar for when Fergie made his changes, they regained their composure which was quite amazing when they brought on the young lads.

The big problem we had was not having a ball winner in midfield. Spase, Lev & Zenon are not the right combination; one of the three should have been replaced with Usucar. I would have sat Lev in front of the stoppers and then had Usucar and Zenon swapping from left to right to track the PG midfield and to offer options going forward. Frankly either Djite or SVD should have been benched for Ramsay and we should have played a focused front 3 rather than the maybe front 3, maybe front 2 crap that was Djite's positioning - also WTF was he doing trying to turn markers in our own half for? Also he and SVD had terrible weight on almost all of their passes. Thinking about it I would have dropped SVD and kept Djite up around the box as he was doing better up there. We really needed Dario  more wine needed, I drink to the buzz box that is @redwhiteandbubbles.

Didn't think much of it but it was the same tonight. I thought Van Der Brink played really good for PG tonight so that might explain a few things. As for Djtie I thought he at least tried tonight. He was causing havoc in the midfield but I felt he was dropping deep to try and get some action. It was awful tonight. Aimless balls up front, no width. With that much paper speed in the squad we should have ripped dinosaurs like Burns a new one. Instead we made him look good. That's the sort of thing that pisses me off about this game

redsfan wrote:midfield trio of Zenon, Usucar and Vidosic with Ramesy and Slory out wide. Dario needs fitness, and I actually think Lev is very handy - he should act as a deep lying pin for the team to revolve around as his passing range is excellent.

I weuld have dropped Djite and included Da Silva - just finished playing a season he'd be match fit, sharper and quick at least. Bruce tried but in such a short season that's a luxury we can't afford.
They must improve 100% t0o threaten MV. Usucar bringing some mongrel, harrasing and running for the full 90 is a must

Basically Lev to play alongside McKain but carry the ball forward from defense for us as opposed to being a stopper. Then having Pancho and Cassio playing advanced of the back line withthe front four working the ball around for openings. Play to be on the counter utilising the pace of Ricardo, Slory & Cassio down the centre/left and the ball playing interplay of Djite & SVD down the right with Pancho to provide the muscle & play to intercept and lay off to them. I wish we still had Alemao  Edited by General Ashnak: 11/10/2011 04:07:36 PM

Well got back from Perth and yep speaking rationaling we shouldve lost 3-0.
We were completely outplayed apart from 20 minutes in the second half where we did get some shots on goal.
I don't know about you but probably until the last 5 minutes did I fail to see Cassio making runs down the left hand side. This was quite common to see even under Vidmar but maybe this is to try and not be predictable when attacking.
even though we lost I did have a good time apart from, an incident involving 3 random Perth people (won't call them glory supporters) who wanted to start trouble. I hope they get a five year ban for what they did. Im just glad security caught the incident on tape after the game. I will be mentioning this in a new topic discussion soon.
My only away game this year unfortunately.

I've been started on by Glory fans while watching the Brisbane vs Adelaide match in a pub at Woodcroft. Threatened to snap my neck after I had the gall to say 'Adelaide should be playing better than this' then hid behind a security guard when my mate arced up at him.
Was pretty funny overall.

Was it any good? I saw the Redzone yesterday with Rini and Jon Mckain. Great idea to publicise the club in that format, and allow input from the fans. However the 1st edition was nothing exceptional, I guess it all depends on the quality of the questions! From memory there was a twitter question, might have been yours RTD? Most questions were actually tactical advice aimed at Rini - he took it quite well - though he was a little defensive saying that the team structure he chose against Perth had performed in trial games. The main thing I got from Rini was that he considered Watson, Mullen and Dilevski all options for right back. He made the point that the player you want there depends on the formation of your opposition - ie whether your RB needs to mark a left wing or play more like a mid.

My q was related to the troublesome RB spot and if he saw Mullen as a long term RB option. I'd love to watch it but putting it on in the middle of the day is a bit daft. Would not go down a treat at my work if I sat there for an hour using their bandwidth to watch it. On a completely different tack I finally received my ST today. I shit you not. 2 days before the first home game. The stories I have about this defy description

It was a really good move as Ditmar has a shit load of respect in the SA sports community. He's never said a bad word about soccer. Unfortunately his tenure on the board only lasted a few months because soon after Nick Bianco handed his license back to the FFA after experiencing cash flow problems and the board was dissolved.

*cos none will likely be available, the home kit I ordered hasn't shown up yet either - when will I learn? Must try to stop being so trusting in giving my money to the club for a promissory note in return"yes, we promise to send out your kit on sept 30..oh its delayed - sorry:("
