Yep, I've got a "family" member that has gone camping with a bunch of his mates. Idiots.

There are quite a number of people ive notice while i was a work in that 50-70 year old range that are still getting a coffee and catch up with people in the street rather than in the coffee shop. Every day at the same time there's a group of 8 that still do.
I feel like the group 25-40 years of age is who seem to be taking it most seriously.

Yes. The people in hotels in quarantine complaining that they cant see their loved ones or go outdoors. They don't seem to understand what they are going through is exactly what they would have needed to put themselves through if it was self imposed

Perfect example of why forced quarantine is the best idea we have come up with. They have no idea just how much of a risk they are to everybody else

My dad and grandmother don’t seem to be taking this seriously, despite both being seniors and having health problems related to fatal cases. It’s frustrating and infuriating. My dad in particular still drives around with his mobile phone glued to his ear no fucks given, kinda shows his regard for public safety.

Yep, it's interesting seeing the differences in people in the same family.

EG, my wife, my father in law and myself have already locked ourselves down for 2 weeks, only dad leaving to do grocery shopping every few days. He's called all family members saying no surprise visits. He is taking this really seriously because he has cardiovascular problems, and my wife spent a week in ICU after getting the cold end of year before last.
Yesterday, his mother rocks up wondering if she could raid his veggie patch.

This is the reason why I always call it the China Virus as well.

We need to be constantly remind ourselves of the origins of this catastrophe that has bought the world to its knees.

I expect beaches, parks, outdoor gyms etc to start opening again in weeks rather than months.  It doesnt appear totally possible to eliminate the virus, and people will soon start to get very agitated being confined to their homes, especially when the vast majority of cases are overseas travellers.  As long as people maintain social distancing, practice good hygiene and stay home when they’re sick, then that is far more practical way to control the virus spread long term than lock down.  Humans are social animals and will soon start to weigh up the risks of cabin fever against those posed by the virus.

Sydney Uni data modelling study that if 80% of the population did social distancing then the virus could be under control in 13 weeks.

They're not going to do anything until they have Bondi under control. That is the epicentre of stupidity. And they've only just today set up a testing centre there. I find it safe to say Bondi will be in lockdown for at the very least 3 more weeks, and they won't be loosening restrictions at other beaches and parks until they can do so there.

My prediction is we go back to 10 people gatherings in May, and 50 in June/July.

The whole Bondi thing is infuriating. A cluster was basically created because of a rave, so until people act sensibly, we’re going to have these restrictions longer than expected.

Agree that if everyone practised social distancing and good hygiene, this would be under better control.

As for the USYD study, the remaining 20% mobility should be reserved for those in essential services (food, health, logistics, police, etc).

Honestly at work, being paid, if I have a crew of 5 guys I can barely get 4 of them to do as per directions as it is.

Society is too dumb to do this on their own accord. Shut everything except supermarkets and hospitals down for 3-4 weeks, and arrest people for being outside, and the sooner we'll have life back to normal.

NSW are now showing cases based on the patients home post code. But it doesn't show if they're actually based in the postcode or not, nor if it was picked up from abroad or if community spread. For eg my postcode has 10 cases but I can't even tell you if any of the 10 are actually currently located in the postcode, isolating, picked it up from travelling or locally, etc. So the info is largely useless, but at least something.

https://data.nsw.gov.au/data/dataset/covid-19-cases-by-location/resource/21304414-1ff1-4243-a5d2-f52778048b29?fbclid=IwAR0-RSErmXIOqQLi5h6yiJH64pcnHINBGVt1Q8H6VDONLR4_AMMEtQ0b5dI

Just 273 new cases in the past 24 hours, most of those overseas travellers.  I would say that we have already experienced our initial peak and the numbers will continue to fall to below 100 nationally in the coming weeks.  The only worrying thing is the cases of community transmission are edging higher but most of those are probably the hangover prior to the social distancing policies coming into effect.

Videos circulating of Chinese people with small containers touching every object in an electronics store and others with public transport. Don't have links and more just things in Facebook video.

On the one hand it could all be some staged shit but on the other hand are there agents going around spreading something on purpose? I really don't want to get into these things but the scale and potential gain poses some very hard questions.

There are video bloggers going to Berlin hospitals and they're dead quiet. I bet it's a department for, say, skin disorders and it's closed down for now. The amount of misinformation from all sides is terrible. Not the say the WHO are any better with their peddling of anything China tells them.

Very, very disappointing behaviour from the WHO which seems to have lost the plot.  Such a shame.

I'd be skeptical of those videos that are doing the rounds.

One went around the other week showing one Chinese woman spitting on veg and then 'her' being arrested when in fact they were spliced together videos featuring 2 different people filmed over 12 months ago.

Another one had her photo nicked from an airbnb account in the UK and had a fake facebook profile in Australia made up.  Then this 'Chinese' person was joining all these community facebook groups and offering big dollars to people to go and buy groceries in Australia that she could send overseas.  All made up bullshit.  Likely to stir up racist sentiments.

I feel sorry for any Chinese Australian doing the right thing at the moment.  That's not to say the Chinese government gets off Scott free.  They've been an absolute disgrace.  A right bunch of cunce.

I saw the supermarket one. The ones I saw were single frame and continuous. They seemed less scripted but all you need is a good actor.
