+xSocceroos Facebook is hyping up the replay of the match tonight 7:30 on Facebook Good on them.
I don’t have Kayo anymore but might have stayed if they’d been rerunning classic HAL and Socceroos games from the past.

They were good but lucky in that game too. Recoba missed fairly easy shot by his standards. And Kewell miss kick that became Bresciano assist very lucky. Epic game. Epic result.

Way off balance. I remember live when he swung at it I thought it was all blown only for Bresc to sweep in.

Young Estoyanoff is still playing. Lots of time at Penarol. Nearly 400 pro games at 37. His penalty way the best for Uruguay.

Kalac warming up.
A second goal would've been some security but could've fallen apart completely with a Uruguay goal.

Viduka... His run up was shocking and he hit that way too casually.

+xCahill to Viduka to Kewell to Bresciano will it ever get better than that Quattro? Mooy to Rogic to Arzani to Taggart maybe? But yeah probably not sadly. what a squad they had in 2005 👍

Brilliant play to shield the challenge, turn and the set up viduka..

I don't think we will get that quality of players ever again, so much quality players in that 2005 team.

+xJust watched that whole thing. We were all over them that night. Deserved winners well before the penalties. Could've easily gone against us too. On another day popa gets sent off/recoba buries that first half chance. That's football etc..

Watching the game showed how special Viduka was, excellent feet under pressure when his back towards his goal and set up a lot of link up play for the rest of the attackers.
That Popa yellow card was crucial as the Uruguayan attackers were starting to target him, overall it was a blessing for us as it meant Harry came in earlier than expected, there was a lot of talk whether he was fully fit and Guus wasn't prepared to use him from the start.
Zalac was getting warmed up to come on for Schwarzer as he apparently was the penalty shootout expert but Emerton got cramp and ended that sub, can you imagine if that sub actually happened, talk about hindsight!
Recoba missed than excellent chance in the first half, often would put that away but went wide, his set pieces were very dangerous all night.
So many what if moments in that game, it was something very memorable and special to witness.

Don't care what any of the knockers I've seen in here about Dukes, he didn't score enough blahblahblah...... What a talent - best frontman we've EVER had re his style of play/awareness/target man/shielding the ball/footwork. A natural no doubt about it. I watched this the other day from OP, Bridges descriptions was funny, Dukes didn't try hard and as he said, imagine if he really did train harder/fitter/stronger/faster. The vid links are brilliant, and yes I recall all to well his hat trick against us/LFC thankfully not in the below. https://sport.optus.com.au/articles/os6900/alan-shearer-rung-me-and-said-ive-never-seen-a-talent-quite-like-this-guy
