+x+xI tell ya.. this business of wearing a mask in airports when not at a table pretending to be eating or drinking is a massive wank... Mt Isa airport has more people without masks than with due to layout... Massive massive massive wank... And I bet there is more alleged ‘aeroslic’ matter being ejected from people chatting at tables than a bloke sitting alone posting on a Dogs site... And guess what, it’s mainly the ‘high risk groups’ over a certain age without masks... The ones we are all told we have to protect... In Sydney airport on Friday morn more than 75% without masks in the terminal, Bris on Sat morn prob 50% without.... Wank, wank, wank... Good thing you are not having a rant . You seem to be at airports a lot, not a bad place to live. The beer is too expensive being the real human tragedy...

+xHope Doory and Ava add some punch to the forwards. I would bet Napa will drop back to the bench with Renouf getting the start again. Dietz hopefully has room to run late in the game. We might not get flogged but I’m not counting on it. Looks like I’ll need another case of Coopers blue cans to watch this The Dogs have sold more grog than any team in the comp.

+x+xGood news- Ava, Doorey and Dietz in the side. Lewis and Meaney named on an extended bench. - probably not far off a return. Neutral news - Odgen dopped, probably necessary. Bad news - Topine out for 2 weeks. My conclusion - at last Dr Marki is picking the team. ‘The new Tolman’ still in the side so no chance the Mock is picking it... Let’s see how Waddell handles it in the middle... on the edges, he’s poor.
Still can’t believe Napa & Hoppa have retained their spots??
Overall.... happy with the new bodies selected on the bench

+x+xSurely the club can ask the bloody NRL for a dispensation to allow Schoupp or Deitz to play with the amount of injuries and suspension of players we’ve currently got out! Meaney, JO and Crichton are all out.... while Floppa checked out months ago JMK, RFM, Jackson & now Hetherington are all out Surely the club is asking the questions right now?? Already got exemption to play Topine to cover JMK I think... What we really need is 20 points start each game... or better still the Roosters salary cap. We need to improve the way we play... Defence, running harder, kicking game, etc... That is all down to practice, desire, effort, teamwork and fitness. My aim this season is improve the team, don't worry about results. The results will come when we get more right than wrong. Yes, I think we need team changes and Baz has limited options. But at a minimum guys like Wakeham and Ava can play. BTW Tyrone Harding is fullback for Eels reserve grade, I think he left for a better opportunity.

+x+xUp front I will say this means nothing and I don't imply anything. Some time ago I did some stats on our performance under 6 of the main referees. I split it into years 2009 to 2013 and 2014 to 2018. Our overall win ratios were 64% & 49% respectively. If we exclude G. Sutton the percentages are 62% & 56%. Our win ratios under Gerard were 78% & 25%. We obviously lost our way at some point. It would be interesting if somebody put some stats together on six agains. I just want to know the numbers in each game and for each team separately. NRLol stopped releasing them after a couple of weeks...

+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+xSo no RFM... no Jackson & now no Hetherington in the pack.
We’re carrying some crap in Waddell, the last thing we need to see is Stimpson come back into the side Ava and Britt are options. I can't wait until we can play development players, at least we will have different players to grumble about. I recon Thompson, DWZ and T. Katoa were impressive running up the middle against the Cows. Apart from fixing our kicking game that is what I want to see, more fast play up the middle, then spread the ball off an offload. We need to find a formula while these players are out. If Hoppa is on the right, pass the ball to the left.😁 A bit more intent from the forwards wouldn't go astray. If a player is trying but not up to it, let him go with best wishes. If there's no intent p.o. you won't be coming back. Defence wise moving Elliott to 13 this week might help. Thompson is outstanding, Atoni, Odgen and Hetherington are doing the job hitting the ball up. We are missing one big forward who can make a big run. Odgen is ordinary in defence. IMO our centres and 2nd rowers don't run straight and hard enough. We need more play with guys just running hard onto the ball. DWZ runs harder than most of our forwards. Smith has a dig and is a depth bench player. Napa ordinary but a bit better last game. Wardell ordinary. If we had 2 more NRL standard props, Odgen would be in reserve grade and Napa would be doing roadwork. Wardell, Stimson and Britt at least 2/3 have to go. Replace with Doorey and a good young 2nd rower. I would replace 4-5 of our forwards if we could. Aiden would be handy to have now. In fact he would have been nice all year with his goal line defence. Yeah but our attack would have gone into negatives. Let him ruin the Sharks. He's already cost Morris his job FYI you dope 7th most points in the comp and have played 4 of the top 6 teams... so haven’t had the luxury the like of south’s, your rorters, panthers and melb... You're the dope. They just have the players eith brains to NOT pass him the bloody ball. Scored less points, conceded more, won less games this year than at any stage of Tolman career after 6 rounds with us... Now I’m not big on causation correlation like you are but......... I get that and I lay blame squarely on Flano. He's the new Tolman atm. Stifles our attack. As soon as TBaz makes the long awaited decision to drop him, you'll see improvement. Who is stifling our middle defence then without the guy who held it together. I think you only saw Tolman when he received the ball. Look, I was peed as much as anyone when he did the 4th thing, but what he did around the ruck was better than anyone is doing it now. Teams did a grubber and he was there always ready to clean up. Give the guy his due, he is sadly missed by the rabble we have now. I give him his due as a leg tackler. We don't seem to have many in our team that tackle low, Elliott is one of them. Lewis the other. It contributes to us resorting to hold-down tactics in order to stem momentum or slow down the play and refs are onto us and it results in 6 agains conceded. Tolman was a decent defender and did contribute to the team in defence but he equally killed us in attack. I dont miss him. I just think our guys need to tackle more effectively. 1 high and 1 low. The sooner Lewis gets back into this team the better. I would have agreed with that kind of defence twenty years ago. But since the wrestle, the tactic is to have two men go high to slow the play the ball down and stop the offload. The idea is to slowly put the player in the ground which helps the defence get back the ten. This helps your side get back inside and improves the line speed for the next tackle. We don’t have good enough forwards to do this for 80 minutes. They do well in the first twenty but look terrible after. Except for Thompson our forwards just don’t have the power to defend in the modern game.

Only an idiot would think Tolman plays nearly 300 games of first grade despite ignoring the coaches instructions to not touch the ball on the 4th... or call for it over decent halves... or be fed it by a decent rake... His 1%rs are sorely missed in D... Reflects on the poor coaching of Des, and roster limitations of Pay. Barrett comes along and immediately decides to not resign him. I trust Barrett. So it’s not Tolman fault???... its Des’ and the other players???.... Did you just snooker yourself???... It's not Tolmans fault he is a limited player. But it's the coaches fault for picking him. Melb used Tolman to good effect as they had other players who would decide who gets the ball and when. In our team, he would put himself in position on 4th or 5th tackle for a nothing play, and we had other useless players who would feed him the ball. The blame is on the coaches for using him that or using players around him that would keep finding him. Team, I think we’ve had a real breakthrough today... Get a room you two...

+x+xThe European Soccer Super League propsal is a about businessmen trying to derisk their investment and maximise income, not sport. The 6 UK teams know competition is coming from clubs like West Ham, Leicester, Leeds and others, they want to rig the results in case their cash cow goes south. All 6 can start next season in division 4 IMO, ban all players from internationals. Hit the greedy businessmen where it counts, the bottom line. If sport was all about money I would watch the stock market, sport is supposed to be a contest where teams succeed or fail on merit. You didn’t mention Villa.... Have you bothered to ask our resident Footballing expert & former Wagga Wombats honorary 12th man Dman his thoughts? Villa need to get Mings a decent haircut to be a contender. I just assumed Dman was on the side of those picking up his bar tab.

Unfortunately that only happens when players volunteer their time or even pay to play - i.e grassroots sport. I agree tho that greed and power is real reason for this breakaway...

+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+xSo no RFM... no Jackson & now no Hetherington in the pack.
Stop the fight ... I need to give the doc a crawling 8 count. Foot Fault Doc I thought we may need another sporting reference after tennis and snooker, but I caught a glimpse of the Micks posts in a mirror and realised we already had a golF post... You looking at mirrors again? You know what happens when you do that Dman....
