It's amazing how in January I was making the comment to some friends of mine that i missed the boat (pump intended) in buying shares in cruise line companies....

Just as well I didnt jump on them.
They're proving to be a disaster
My zero percent bank is safer  ...I think

Some other countries has CV19 tracking apps which track where your mobile phone has been and what other phones are nearby.

Most of us carry our phones around, this would really speed up tracking, I assume that you would need to give the app permission to track you... I would do that.

The only app I'm interested in is the one that shows where all the known covid-19 cases are near me....

It's like a Gaydr but ......... actually, it's not as bad.

I predict we're gonna see a dramatic drop in Covid cases in Aus over the next week to two.

Why? Ever since this started in Aus, the locally acquired cases have been about half the overall cases INC yesterday 5th April when the total cases were as low as they were on 12 Mar. The peak on 27th Mar locally acquired cases were about 2&1/2 - 3 times less than the overall cases.

So hopefully with the quarantine, when the o/s or contact with o/s cases wash out soon we'll halve or better our current numbers.

For ref, the locally acquired cases yesterday look about 20ish to me (hard to tell exactly as the graph goes from 0-50-100). And this is while the locally acquired rate rate is falling dramatically - 60ish 4 days ago, 50ish 3 days ago, 30ish two days ago, 20ish yesterday.

If it wasn't for that f***in' ship!

Most countries are starting to flatten and in some cases fall.

Italy and Spain are now falling, so is France. Japan is showing a very worrying spike, I assume from the 2nd wave we've been warned about. India very worrying, very, very worrying.

U.S and GB while both showing signs of a curve are still climbing rapidly. U.S now most effected by plenty, GB not far off Italy and Spain and on current trajectory will be 2nd to U.S by the end of the week. I worry about the sub-continent.

It is clear that we were slow to act on overseas arrivals.  We have long known that overseas arrivals were our biggest danger but we continued to allow them to walk out of airports and off boats virtually unchecked.  A case in point weeks ago.  Traveller checked out of Nepal, checked in and out of Hong Kong on stopover.  Straight out of Sydney airport into society.
I read recently that high temperature is the most predominant symptom.  88% of cases.  A simple test that could have been applied to everyone as a basic indicator that further investigation was needed.
Every one missed could eventually lead to community transmission later.

Well zef  that "fvcking" ship has created a lot of problems for us. I have read stories but I cant confirm their accuracy, and it contains reference to a certain politician (who is apparently really good mates with the PM) having certain "family" members from a certain religious organisation that travelled on that "fvcking" ship and that due to their insistance to get onshore ASAP, is why the passengers were swiftly and stealthily released into the population without any testing or checking. As I said it's in the social media so there may or may not be any truth to it, but as they say in the classics truth is sometimes stranger than fiction.

I wonder how slow the govt (ours & those overseas) will be in warning people that animals can get the virus & pass it onto other animals, including pets sniffing around one another in every neighborhood, to & from one owner to the next.
Then there's also the need for aeroguard because mozzies don't just suck fresh blood out of people, they also inject the contaminated old blood into the new bite site, infecting more people that way too. Good thing for Aus that we're heading into colder weather, but there's still plenty of mozzies around to be concerned about. This factor, however, is not going to be helping the plight of USA as they head into hotter weather. Same goes for all the hot & humid countries around the world.

A lot of excitement yesterday.  Got our flu needles.  First day out in 19 days.  What a thrill.

I wonder if the state (and federal) governments started a "dob in a neighbour" campaign which gives the dobber a monetary incentive to dob in breaches of these covid-19 isolation rules.....

For example, if the police fined someone $1000 for breach of isolation or social gatherings....they can offer the dobbing neighbour $250.
Im sure at that kind of incentive, all the eastern suburbs folk would jump on it.

...Let the dobbing begin!
