off that subject are there any of our players that came through the youth team? Malik? AU's Youth team? Don't know. Mightn't attract more fans but it might keep more as it seems like value for money, i.e seeing the next generation of HAL plodders and the odd decent player.

That was a complete farce. When are we going to play our players in position?

I know some people may disagree. But I'd def like to see this stroll onto the pitch next match. Usucar/Levchenko swappable depending on who's looking better come match day. Mullen also swappable with Malik/Watson, again depending on who looks better. Da Silva was scoring goals for fun in the state league and will have something to prove if he's put into the starting XI

We couldn't string three passes together...
After such a long pre-season preparation, why does AU play like the players hardly know each other...?
Having said that, Roar are probably the best Australian club side of all time...

I take nothing away from Brisbane because they were awesome to watch and I'm actually a very envious of the way they played.
The thing that disappointing me the most is the lack of fight and second efforts from our boys. You can talk and carry on about formation until the cows come home but if the right attitude isn't there than all that talk means nothing.
A more spirited team would have capped that loss at 3-1 and licked their wounds. Adelaide have large bleeding gashes and are going to be in intensive care for a while unfortunately.

Ask the club, because I think they should reimburse all the travelling fans who put up with that diabolical performance. The lack of effective effort is what I find the most disappointing.

The fans behind the goals on the northern end should come to the next home game dressed for a funeral and go on strike until the team starts showing more passion for the shirt.

As i said last night on the other thread, we caved in. A complete mental capitulation. Pissant mentality. It's all too hard. Throw the towel in.
Brisbane WALKED the ball in on almost every goal. Basically, the furthest goals scored were from the bloody penalty spot! What does that tell you?
I can't work it out. It's a new team. Yet they're still, somehow, carrying the scars of previous years. WHat the bloody hell did we do in that entire pre-season? Photoshoots, glitterati and attending parties? FMD.

The players and the coaching staff on the other hand, they should all chip in and refund your plane ticket, at the very least. What an insult to the season ticket holders, the members, the travelling fans like yourself, the owners and our sponsors.

time to clip delevski and slory. Both have been terrible. levchenko is lucky his tweets are moderately entertaining from a "what a dick head' perspective to stay in the side. the quicker boogard and barbiero get fit the better. Atleast these guys have shown that they give a shit. Right now we are missing hughes and reid. These guys kept it simple and weren't afraid

Kamara, Ricardo and Monaco scored in the Baby Reds 3-1 win over the Roar.
Bring Ricardo to the first team please.

Ricardo looked excellent for the full 90 today in the NYL. Always a threat. Would be miles better than Slory ATM. Even Teeboy would be good to chuck on for 10-20 to run at players.

How did I not make the top 50? To borrow a phrase from a certain Didier Drogba: "It's a fucking disgrace!" Forget Friday night's display, this is a bigger issue!!!

Just starting to get over Friday night's debacle - Strangely I think that annihilation could be our saviour this year.
But seriously what has Rini got against Usucar and DaSilva?
There are two guys who I'm sure would fight to the end! ( still in awe of DaSilva's hat-trick for City - now that's what I want to see from players - PLAY FOR THE SHIRT!! ( stuff posing in a bow tie in front of a camera, Just fucken play the game you're paid for and work on speed, fitness ) Usucar may not be as pretty, but he's like a bull-terrier.
How far away from fitness is Barbiero?

Frankly we should win all four of our games in November.

Now that I've calmed down some personal/opinionated observations. Probably stating the obvious and a little stream of conscious like but what the hell.
- First 15 mins against Brissie actually worked. We were troubling them and sprung their off-side trap 3 times I think. I saw SVD and Vido both with their arms spread in this period urging the press. We had a plan and seemed to be executing it? - We are mentally fragile. Silly penalty and then we just turned to water. Players running around all over the shop and positional awareness and the previous working plan evaporated. - Tracking back is an issue. If we press and we lose you really need to get on your scooter and get back. - We have no fight. Compare our reaction to Brissies when we lose the ball. They instictively have x2 players go and hunt the ball. We just stand off. - Pasing accuracy, particulalrly over shorter distance is terrible. We cannot seem to get this simple skill correct. We turn the ball over repeatedly when passing less than 10m - Something doesn't feel right with the team. Obviously we've just lost 3 out of the last 4 games but SVD and Cassio seem out of sorts to me. I have no evidence for this other than watching their demeanour on the pitch and therefore it's based on instict, but they do not look happy and motivated to me.
I'm a half-empty sort of bloke at the best of times but looking at the motivation, fitness and tactical progress of the teams in the league I'm not feeling widely optimistic.
I think it's going to be a long season lads 8-[ 8-[
Please prove me wrong Rini.

I think fitness is a big key here. A lot has been made about how lengthy and tiring the Roar are pushed during their training sessions. Milan Susak even said in last week's radio interview that training regimes were too different to compare between the two clubs. Until we get to the same fitness level as the Roar, we won't be able to push them for the full 90 minutes.

Something is very wrong if we cant keep up for 45 mins.

I am not sure why we have a strength and conditioning coach who was part of a PG setup that could never run out 90 minutes...
