Okay, I don't think its in doubt that I love this club, but by God following it can be difficult to the extreme. I needed a polo shirt so the 'members polo shirt' released just before Christmas seemed perfectly timed for me to get one and to grab an extra one for my dad as part of his Chrissy present. Imagine my surprise when wonder of wonders they appeared in my letter box mere days after paying for them! One Medium for me and a 2XL for the old man(as per the sizing of his other shirts) Unfortunately on xmas morning we discovered that 2XL was a touch too small for the big fella:( grr[Goddamned Euro-sizing!]. So today being the clubs first day of business after xmas shutdown, I ring the club expecting not too many hassles in exchanging the 2XL for a 3XL. simple you would think. But as usual there is a hiccup. the club didn't get in many 'larger sizes' meaning, no 3XLs are available:( grrr. Why is nothing ever simple when it comes to merch for this club? FFS:(

touchy subject as you can imagine..he's rehabbing a knee operation at the mo. Maybe it will fit him in 6 months:) In the meantime I'll try to get him a standard 3XL Red Polo. Sucks when your Christmas present idea doesn't quite work out:(

Have i not been saying this for almost 2 months now that this man is a liability? When i first started the whole bowtie comments on here, i was having a humourous laugh. We were playing so appallingly it was my way of healing by having a laugh. But slowly the rest of the public caught onto him too.

Week after week it became evident to me that he is here for a holiday and a paycheck. He wants to be seen in the paper. He's attending parties, being photographed for the paper, making best-dressed lists etc etc. He talks about his Porsche and the whole living life in the fast lane rubbish. :roll:

And then the Golec tweet. Yep it was not cool at all. The club issued a statement. Some said it did not go far enough. But ultimately Golec was punished for it. Then Lev had to throw in his 2 cents again by saying that he had had a chat with Golec and that he had set him straight. :roll:

Then he complained like a whining bitch about being a person who is allowed to do what he wants off the pitch. He made these remarks after a few people called him up on his socialising antics via facebook. He took offence. Yes he is allowed to do what he wants. But he clearly has not worked out that being a public figure comes with its good and bad. If you're playing BADLY, then being seen in town often and being photographed for publications at parties creates a perception in average Joe that you are here for a holiday and a good time. Average Joe pays his membership to see United win, or at the very least to see United play with passion. When Average Joe see's players playing WITHOUT heart at games but attending public parties, he begins to wonder what sort of culture is taking place at the club? The fact that Lev doesn't understand this makes him a liability to our club.

This latest tweet is beyond disgraceful. We were playing like horseshit. A change had to be made. I don't know how it was handled between Kossie and Eugene and Kossie and McKain. I hope it was a civilised discussion. I hope that it was discussed openly rather than imposed without question. I don't know for sure but what i do know is 2 things:

1) There has never been a player say bad things about Kossie. I have NEVER seen or read it. Have you? I haven't. Which means players respect him and his approach. He obviously is a great man manager

2) Did you see McKain last night? I saw a team player. Still a bit rough and a bit too keen. But i saw a team player. I saw someone playing with heart and someone who appears to have accepted the loss of the captains armband very graciously. All power to you Jon.

Which brings me to my final comment. Levchenko, you'd better start performing because the way we played last night, you will need to FIGHT like a dog for your spot. And the way you've been playing this season, you won't be getting a single game.

+1 Very good summary. I've been optimistic about him for as long as anyone, patiently waiting for him to recover from his injury (or injuries). Seems like another dud import from Rini. He can bugger off and free up a nice import spot for us.

I think we have the wrong idea about this one. Coolen appointed McKain as captain on his accord. Kosmina apparently consulted the team members. I suspect Levchenko is actually supporting the decision. Just an observation.

The bitterness is strong in some people and it is almost embarrassing to read.

let him write what he wants he has not wrote anything to bad and he has stated alot of times how it is killing him having to sit out and not help us play.

Innuendo & rumours are just adolescent ranting in my book but unfortunately they can cause irreparable damage.

I've been fan of Usucar from the start, going eyeball to eyeball with a guy he'd never heard of but all United fans hated gave me an insight into this small tough nut who played for the shirt! Now with he & McKain battling for the spot I know that if Levchenko gets the gig, I will know that Kossie thinks he's good enough

Meant to ask this other day. Noticed that the Red Terrace moved to the south stand for the Welly game. Is this permanent or just a bit of breathing space?

The plan is permanent. However, permission to move was granted by the club in the form of a three game trial. I say they passed the trial with honours in their first match down south. Hopefully we get more of the same and they stay there permanently.

I like it. I think it's a great idea.

I certainly hope the move is permanent, the RT was simply fantastic in the Southern stand and if I was a Red rather than Blue member I would be certainly tempted to join in with my son.

Something that should be looked at for both RT and the RA is getting rid of swearing from their chants so that those of us with kids who would still like to be part of the active support can seriously look at it.

Stood in front of a young lad and his family for the MV game, and if I recall correctly, his favourite chant was "F... off Melbourne!" which was met with laughter by his family and those close enough to hear. They then joked about him repeating the stuff he heard that night at school. Him and his family both seemed to have had a great time.

Right near the front there's a small family that seems to have no such problem with profanity and will swear with no hesitation in front of their ~7-year-old. Admittedly, they look like they might be from the Northern suburbs. Hope they're not reading this...

But of course, I understand your point of view, and there probably aren't too many parents okay with their kids repeating some of the language heard by active supporters.

I get rather sick of people trying to justify poor behaviour.

If you need to use profanity, all you are doing is displaying a dramatic lack of imagination. Similarly with abusing oposition fans and flares. It's not 'atmosphere', it's just someone too lazy to use their natural wit. The great hecklers and barrackers never need to resort to profanity or abuse and the sooner our 'support groups' wake up to this, the sooner they'll gain respect for more than just noise.

To be fair, the south is way better than the north :)

Going to the football is not a G rated night out. Its not R rated either. Its more like PG-13. It has to be edgy enough to keep the young adults engaged, but simultaneously accessible for families. I think the Red Army at AUFC games does a pretty good job at straddling this line In my experience most people that attend Hindmarsh for the first time are excited and energized by the atmosphere at the football and tend to return.

Looking forward to the game on Saturday (like pretty much every week :)), but the 5pm games suck for us on on the Eastern side of the ground because of the sun. At least the 7:30 games the sun is down behind the stand by around kickoff.

Are the seats just north of the snake pit category Red? Thinking I might try a different perspective.

Enjoyed singing and chanting with the Red Terrace last home game and will be on Saturday.

I just hope though with the north end/south end chant please only do this once per half and not overkill it. Maybe at the 25th min and 70th min of each game

love the fact the RT are constantly evolving with new chants. Anyone who is interesting about being involve in active support just join in the red terrace boys and girls would love it.

You had quite a few people laughing when you lads were chanting BENCHWARMER! at the away team's players that were warming up next to you... I noticed they weren't there after a while...

I think they do a great job and have no problem with PG-13 as an appropriate level, it would get rid of the F-Bomb for example which would make me much happier ;) I am no saint but my swearing never progresses higher than bloody or bastard in front of my kids.

I also love FOM but cannot condone myself using it in front of my son or deliberately exposing him to others chanting it.

If your a parent and want to let your chd join in with those chants that is the parents choice but I wouldn't let my child swear willing around me.
