I don't think swearing is the problem I think it was someone stating they wishes they could sit with the supporters with there kids bit can't because of the swearing maby in a few yes he can lol girl is 2 and she has just started coming with me so I had to move a bit dieter away but close enough still lol General Ashnak wrote:vanbasten88 wrote:Going to the football is not a G rated night out. Its not R rated either. Its more like PG-13. It has to be edgy enough to keep the young adults engaged, but simultaneously accessible for families. I think the Red Army at AUFC games does a pretty good job at straddling this line In my experience most people that attend Hindmarsh for the first time are excited and energized by the atmosphere at the football and tend to return. I think they do a great job and have no problem with PG-13 as an appropriate level, it would get rid of the F-Bomb for example which would make me much happier ;) I am no saint but my swearing never progresses higher than bloody or bastard in front of my kids. I also love FOM but cannot condone myself using it in front of my son or deliberately exposing him to others chanting it. SpawningSalmon wrote:Stood in front of a young lad and his family for the MV game, and if I recall correctly, his favourite chant was "F... off Melbourne!" which was met with laughter by his family and those close enough to hear. They then joked about him repeating the stuff he heard that night at school. Him and his family both seemed to have had a great time.
Right near the front there's a small family that seems to have no such problem with profanity and will swear with no hesitation in front of their ~7-year-old. Admittedly, they look like they might be from the Northern suburbs. Hope they're not reading this...
But of course, I understand your point of view, and there probably aren't too many parents okay with their kids repeating some of the language heard by active supporters. I could never do that, I understand people do but that isn't me - I also don't want to force the RA or RT to change, I just was stating my preference :)

elevchenko levchenko I love football because it's a TEAM sport. And only TEAM should make a decisions as a group.
STFU Lev you self important wanker, god he gives me the shits, just worry about getting on the pitch instead of bitching about everything the club does. Hope Kossie is aware of his disruptive tweeting. I think we have the wrong idea about this one. Coolen appointed McKain as captain on his accord. Kosmina apparently consulted the team members. I suspect Levchenko is actually supporting the decision. Just an observation. You could be completely right Tom, but consider these 2 things: a) Lev's reputation precedes him. b) This article seems to suggest otherwise: AdelaideNow wrote: "ADELAIDE United coach John Kosmina admitted Jon McKain was upset when he told the defender the captain's armband was no longer his yesterday.
Kosmina handed the leadership duties to Eugene Galekovic before the former Socceroos skipper said the decision to swap leaders wasn't easy but it had to be done.
``Jon was upset,'' Kosmina said.
``But I thought in the circumstances and I thought long and hard about it and I slept on it a fair bit, it was a tough call to make.
``But I think it's in the best interests of the team and the club and in the best interests of Jon because his form hasn't been sparkling."
Anyways, that's my 2 cents on the matter and I hope i'm completely wrong about it, as this sort of player mentality could de-stabilise the good thing we've got going at the moment.

The biggest concern facing the Red Terrace will be their numbers. When it comes to a supporter group, the strength will always be in its numbers. If a bunch doesn’t turn up one game, there are still plenty of others there to keep it going etc. If some leave there are always new members joining through word of mouth.
We’ve had groups like The Stand, The Gate, MSE, Irregulars all come and go so it will be interesting to see if RT can stand the test of time.
I must say though that I did enjoy receiving the active support experience in the East stand delivered to me in full stereo sound (left and right ears ;) )

I thought it was a 2 game trial have they been approved to be there full time now ? will they let them there when victory turn up ? i guess that will decide it how they behave that game if all does go well they stay if it goes bad back to the old way ? Edited by liverpoolfan2010: 7/1/2012 08:22:39 PM I believe it was Ducky who said it was a 3 game trial, which would make Saturday's game the 2nd time for RT in the South Stand. Even if RT are not approved by the club to stay in the South stand, it's become clear to me that they want to remain separated and independant of the RA. So it will be interesting to see if they can last eitherway.

This. I watched the replay of that incident over and over last night and it doesn't look like the Roar player even got clipped, looks like he simply lost his footing on the wet grass and barrelled into SvD. Impossible to know for sure one way or the other but van Dijk was through on goal, hard to claim that's not a pen.

I hate the hole kossie is old football can only play one old football way
you would think some people in the cheer squad would be smarter
can they not see we are playing 100 times better under kossie with his tactics he has brought in then we did under rini
kossie has been a successful coach you do not be that successful playing one kind of game tactics your hole managerial career
people i think need to open there eyes sometimes and look at what is happening on the field
the way kossie has got djite and van D into the games is something rini couldn't do Kossie has got this team going in 3 weeks playing good football and a nice style to how long did it taken rini ??
kossie brought the success adelaide has only ever had im glad he is back.
it is about time you get to take you team to a champions league kossie not get them there and someone else take over.
use the force kossie use the force

I'm glad Kossie is working them harder; it is frustrating to watch Djite think about chasing the ball, and then decide he cbf.

He usually works his socks off Last game against Brissie he was completely knackered after 55 minutes though. Could barely lift his legs I was very surprised when Vidosic was dragged before him maybe Kossie figures he will just work the unfit ones into the ground

Vido could still be suffering from that back complaint? surprised he is starting to be honest..playing with a broken back sounds a bit black knight to me(tis just a scratch)
When is Cassio due back? by reports his recovery seems to be progressing well.

Is anyone from FFT going to the Bathurst match?
By all accounts they seem confident they'll get 5,000+. I have my reservations, but i'm hopeful. Even friending kids from work on FB just to make sure they go :) Might even buy some tix and give them out (only $10 for kids GA).
Looking forward to it :)

I think this answers some people's question. Quote:Cassio returns from injury rehab in BrazilVal Migliaccio From: The Advertiser January 12, 2012 12:00am CASSIO returns from Brazil tonight but the Reds leftback will not play until cleared by insurers. Cassio's lawyer Victor Daminato says, in keeping with insurance requirements, the Brazilian will seek an opinion from an independent medical practitioner and obtain confirmation the Brazilian is fit to resume playing. "We have made an appointment to see Dr Geoff Verrall," Daminato said. "We're hoping to have a clearance for Cassio to resume match duties. The last thing we want is for him not to be covered under relevant insurance." Cassio last month returned to Rio de Janeiro to have a foot injury treated at his expense and which may have cost him more than $20,000. Cassio was originally injured during Adelaide's 2-1 win over Gold Coast on November 11 before he was forced off the park in excruciating pain in a 1-1 draw with Wellington Phoenix away eight days later. He was at his wit's end before consulting Dr Verrall and international experts through Skype - an internet program - to show medicos and physios in Brazil and Germany just how much movement he had in his left foot before he left for Brazil on November 30. The Brazilian medical team was confident that Cassio would return to training after treatment in just 45 days after a worst case scenario - foot surgery - may have sidelined the defender for a year. Brazilian medicos have recommended that Cassio have ongoing physiotherapy and fitness conditioning for more than a week to be ready for A-League duty. He should be ready to play on January 29 at home against Perth Glory. And the timing of Cassio's pending return may be perfect for Adelaide coach John Kosmina, given current Reds leftback Antony Golec may be summoned by Olyroos coach Aurelio Vidmar for Olympic Games duty for two qualifying matches in the Middle East in February. Football Federation Australia takes out insurance for all players within the salary cap and divides the cost of the policy by 10 - the number of A-League clubs. Marquee players fall outside the policy, which is believed to cost each club an estimated $70,000 per player after a reported insurance wrangle was uncovered. Gold Coast may be liable for a potential $2 million payout after an injury to former marquee player Jason Culina who was, according to reports, not insured before he signed for Newcastle Jets. http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/sport/soccer/cassio-returns-from-brazil-tonight/story-e6frectc-1226242156636 Yes he is back.

Golec has been doing great in Cassio's absence anyway so at least you guys have got piece of mind for both CB and LB cover.

It also means the gaffer's hand isn't forced if Cassio isn't 100% (which has been the case on a number of occasions). It's good to have competition for spots, and as much as I'm looking forward to seeing Cassio play again, Golec hasn't given Kossie many reasons to drop him.

Cassio & Golec for LB is not my concern, in fact if Golec gets a gig with the Olyroos he and Cassio will not have to battle for the spot. Golec has the speed & height, but Cassio's got the experience and is an incredibly intelligent player, the number of times he, as the shortest player, wins headers against much taller attackers is amazing. It's RB that concerns me, I fret every time any opposing team attacks down that side as Watson isn't up to it IMO. I read that Spase Dilevski can play RB, and of course we still have Susak to come back, so maybe him and Mullen will tussle for Cb and the loser will play out wide right Edited by redcup: 15/1/2012 11:54:41 AM

Rightyo. Back on deck after a mad weekend in Melb. Brilliant.
Fantastic atmos at the ground. And what a ground. Perfect sized stadium. They know what the hell they are doing over there when it comes to establishing such facilities and provisioning them with services. Absolute shite beer though. VB Gold makes West End taste like a top-end micro brewery.
Great banner from the Melb North End before the game. Very welcoming :) More apt at Etihad rather than AAMI though. We own that turf!
Noise and banter from our away end was fantastic. Loudest noise I've ever heard from our lot. Loved the "You're just a small club in Melbourne chant!" Didn't go down well by the looks on the faces in the South End. Magic. When we scored it went mental. Wall of noise. We need to get roof's on the rest of Hindmarsh. You just don't appreciate how much noise we actually make without the roof's
I was standing just behind the RT boys and they did well except for the flare. Word of advice boys: look up. I counted at least 3 camera's in our end. They would have had someone watching us the whole game. Sure enough 15 mins after it was ripped the lad got a tap on the shoulder. Don't know what happened to him after that.
They kept us in for about 15 mins after the game. I spoke to a copper and he said there was a bunch of Melb hard-cases waiting for us outside and they needed to clear them. Personally didn't see any drama so top night.
Certainly reccomend getting over to see us play at AAMI. I went to the game at Etihad and it's okay but not a patch on AAMI

I went to the game at Etihad and it's okay but not a patch on AAMI Been to Etihad for Adelaide away but never to AAMI, other than to watch a woeful match between Heart and Sydney last season. Would love to do the proper away trip to AAMI sometime in the near future. Your thoughts on AAMI are mine exactly. You can see how great Melbourne Victory's support looks in such a stadium, but also how well Heart's fan base is gradually growing into the venue. It further enhances my belief that while I absolutely adore Hindmarsh we have no long-term future there in its current form. It isn't just the capacity; there is only a roof over one stand FFS. I think the club seriously need to consider lobbying for the development of a new rectangular stadium closer to the city (the Thebby Police Barracks site was touted by the chairman in the Bianco era) or a serious (no bullshit excuses like "the church is in the way") major redevelopment of Hindmarsh. The 'Marsh in its current form is holding the club back in my opinion. We need to use the argument that the Reds would not be the only tenants as a quality new venue would also attract Rugby League and Union fixtures (including international matches) and Socceroos fixtures. The ground CAN be used all year round. It should be publicly owned but the Reds should own the lease jointly with the FFSA (similar to Adelaide Oval). Our supporter base will never come close to its full potential while our stadium is as limiting (in every way) as Hindmarsh.

The same argument arises, we need to fill Hindmarsh week in week out before lobbying for a new stadium. The club needs money, and the only way to do that is by getting more bums on seats.

Cant wait for the weekend CCM should be a good game. Still worried about the defence watson just not good enough at defending or attacking kewell showed him up alot last weekend and when watson does attack he has not got the speed to get back and defend and that is when we get caught on counters over and over again.
would like to see melling play behind VAN D and then djite come on with about 20 mins remaining but wont happen
melling really impressing when he is playing wanting to take on players and has the pace. only seen him make one incorrect pass so far and that was a long lob pass. Got a good tackle to.
