yer - I think we expected KL to kick off with a bang hanging out for some live games but in fairness trying to start their comp like most with just 2wks training and the 1st game they probably think it was lame as well. Hows this re BVB's game : Without Marco Reus, Axel Witsel and Emre Can, and with Jadon Sancho only on the bench, Borussia Dortmund were anything but full strength for their Revierderby meeting with Schalke on Bundesliga Matchday 26. Did it make an ounce of difference? Not in the slightest. Dortmund breezed to victory, recording a 4-0 triumph that ranks as the fixture's biggest and BVB's second-highest winning margin in meetings with local rivals Schalke since 1966. So much for ring rust.

Triple J's hack must be the 'wokest' show in Australia. Either that or The Project. Which made me laugh when this story came out. https://www.news.com.au/entertainment/tv/radio/gen-fricker-slams-racist-triple-j-in-instagram-video/news-story/dcbe4bf64aa7d2ae56d9b980ec612a9bLooking forward to the Hack rebuttal with interest.

WFYB And, since I go back to work next week, and my father in law doesn't want people coming in and out of the house constantly because he has a germophobia OCD, and my wife has asthma bad enough to put her in hospital if she gets a cold and he is adamant if she gets anything during this pandemic era she will die, I get to go live at my mother in law's house until my wife goes back to work, since everyone there is either a) already back at work, or b) being #rekles. Double edged sword, because it sucks to be away from my wife, but I guess I'll be able to start refereeing during that time since I'll be able to get out of the house a bit more freely. Also WFYB: Doing my "make every Socceroos and All Whites kit possible for Pro Evo soccer" challenge proved troublesome for the 2001 Socceroos kit, as I couldn't find a template to steal for it, so I had to try and mash one up. After two weeks, finally found a good template

Seriously, I would only notice she wasn't white if I looked really closely. As much as I enjoy laughing at the hypocrisy of the 'woke' crowd, I do wonder how much of her account is legit and how much of it is an exaggeration?
There are only two intellectually honest debate tactics: (a) pointing out errors or omissions in your opponent’s facts, or (b) pointing out errors or omissions in your opponent’s logic. All other debate tactics are intellectually dishonest - John T. Reed

Just put a buck each way on a horse at Newbury R8. Got up at 251/1. Insane. Had a greyhound at 99/1 about 3 weeks ago. What's the biggest odds you've ever seen? Of course I'll never put much on these but when they win I wish I had.

+xThat Leicester fan who bet that they would win the premiership. Another similar story. Not sure how many people follow F1, but I'll summarise the 2008 offseason before the 2009 season started: As it was in the lead up/the GFC was just starting to hit, Honda decided they weren't going to race in F1 anymore as of immediate effect. The person they hired as the boss, Ross Brawn (now hired by F1 to run the sport alongside two others), knowing that they had already invested so much into the car for rule changes in 2009 all year and that the car would be relatively competitive, made a deal to buy the team, and Brawn GP would enter the 2009 season at almost the last moment, with the same drivers and the same car, but Mercedes engines (before the engines were as dominant as they are now). Now, according to my brother, there was already rumours this car was going to be great, so he wanted to put like $100 on Brawn to win the teams championship, and $50 on each of their drivers to win the drivers title. But here's the problem: In England, they allow you to be on 'unlisted' at set odds (usually 1000-1). But in Australia, they weren't doing that for F1. So he got my brother-in-law (who worked at an RSL that ran a TAB outlet inside) to call them to try and put a bet on them, and they apparently said, "Mate they won't win, there's no chance." Then, when they did finally list them, they were at 3-1 or something ridiculously small, because they were starting to wipe the floor in pre-season testing, and promptly won both titles.

+xThat Leicester fan who bet that they would win the premiership. Ahah yes! I heard of once where the wife gave him a 50 pound ticket bet at maybe 2500/1 as a laugh. Can't remember if he filed for divorce the following summer :D

WFMB People in my industry taking terminology seriously https://www.zdnet.com/article/github-to-replace-master-with-alternative-term-to-avoid-slavery-references/I have to admit, I haven't thought too much about these things but that's because of my privilege. Still have a lot to learn.

+xLooks and smells a lot like bait McJules. Shouldn't you be using your powers for good not evil. Is it hard to believe I'm genuinely happy this is happening? I assure you it's genuine. I see showing a positive way to deal with our changing world as doing good.

I see showing a positive way to deal with our changing world as doing good. We use the terminology master/slave in our workplace about one specific, but crucial, product. A good year back I asked the team if we should change it, honestly I got laughed out of the room. This is in the Steel City of Newcastle though, it's worth noting we're a good 10 years behind the times up here. But still. I might try to find the right time to bring it up again. Primary/secondary would absolutely more than cater for what we want, and engineering-wise with the specific application it actually makes more sense to me to change it to that.

Presumably when referring to parts you'd like to do away with the nomenclature male/female because of the reinforcement of the power imbalance between genders. Furthermore it probably highlights our endemic rape culture because the female part likely didn't give consent.
