Had to miss the game because of work commitments. Just watched the highlights. I cannot believe the chances we miss and the soft goals we let in - again! At least it wasn't just Brucie this time but, seriously, how can we continue to miss four or five gilt-edged chances a match? We don't deserve finals this year.
As for Kossie as coach in the long-term......? Changing a system that isn't working isn't a sign of brilliance. But the team is working hard now and running out games. Maybe the players we have to bring back in will sort out the leaky defense and the attacking players will start scoring those chances.
Or maybe the FFA will just make all the goals bigger for us.
Maybe.

Edited by unitedgal: 20/2/2012 12:15:08 PM Sounds like an ok idea but kossie has mre sucess then a manager then miron this will be the second time kossie have ever missed out on finals if we miss out which looks likely now lol

I don't know about Miron. He'd be entertainment value though. I'd like to know who is responsible for the tyouth development at the Gold Coast because whoever it is (maybe it is Miron) they've done a bloody good job.

How about because it means any time a team gets a break, they could just punch one of their teammates in the face and expect play to stop. Why would we stop just because two Sydney players collide...

That is not poor sportsmanship and all teams would have taken advantage of it - especially when it is a player as renouned for diving as Jamo (I hope you noted when the ref told him off for diving, I wonder if SFC are going to fine him for it?).

Kossie isn't a long term solution, and neither is Miron. Personally I wish we could get back Stubbins.

Also when I went to both Vitcory away games (Jihad and AAMI park I was well impressed) Personally I think things are changing for active support for Adelaide. Sitting in the East Stand it looked like the Terace had at least the same or maybe more than the Army for the Sydney game. I also think the Terrace tend to sing a more. They seem to go the whole game instead of fits and starts. Just my distance impression from dead on the half way line i.e. not part of the active support :)

To me he thought we are not the fittest if we can sit back let them come at us we can be fresh and attack the shit out of them in the second half almost worked should of worked. a game i would of clapped the team off to our best attacking game and defensive for the year upset with galekovic coming of his line so much for a ball he could not get you have to make a decision go or stay not go and then get caught half way then scramble to get in any sort of position. would of brought djite on about 75 mins give him actual time to settle in but i liked the game and like the 2 dm we seemed to attack better like it surprisingly i would not hate if kossie was appointed for another year let him make his team see what he can do. definitely done alot better then rini has all season. well done boys. oh and levy i was impressed lol well done old boy I couldn't agree more As for Kosi being reappointed I don't know what to think - we are still missing sitters and letting cheap goals in through miserable defending
How much that's the players and how much is the coach? Edited by unitedgal: 20/2/2012 11:46:44 AM Not much a coach can do on the sidelines if the strikers miss from 5 yards or 3 defenders who can't stop a 19yo from shooting & scoring, or a keeper who is weak on his left. Serg is having a bad season is all. Remember Owen was scoring for fun 1 year and missing open goals the next, same with Rooney........a lot of strikers go through it except maybe Batigol & 'Pele Actually right from the get go I've blamed the owners, obviously for the sake of the game nationally it was very important for us to have owners and let the FFA spend their money on better wine & lunches. They bought the club mainly as a business venture and not out of passion for the game - a la Nick Bianco. They then set about getting rid of the passionate staff who had been there since inauguration, charged the supporters for every thing they could and let Rini have total control of the on-field stuff - actually as coach this was expected but when stalwarts of a successful team were given the boot for injury prone players, sooks & players who were not up to standard, the writing was on the wall for a difficult season ahead. Unfortunately their reluctance to bolster our hopeless defence will see a pitiful ACL campaign as well ( I hope that Persipura challenge in court & win, then they can spend 100's of thousand's being thrashed ) However, I hope the owners stick with it and learn from their mistakes and once again AU will be back where it belongs Edited by redcup: 25/2/2012 11:39:43 AM

mcjules wrote:Just been such a disappointing season. Can really see some promise with the team and similar to a couple of years ago when we finished last, a couple of key personnel changes could have us really firing. Whether that will happen or not is another thing. After watching Friday night, I'd like to take this comment back. We would need more than a couple key personnel changes. We have too many "luxury" players, by that I mean are ok going forward but offer little defending. Ramsay is a classic example (but certainly not alone), how many times have we conceded goals this season due to him being out of position? Far too many IMO.

So at this stage I'm sure I'm not the only person that's given up on the season and wants to focus on the ACL. I am hoping to see some better performances in the A-League though as preperation for the much tougher ACL.
Even though situation seems dire, I always hold onto a sliver of hope.

Yes, but look on the bright side. If we get kicked out we'll have a really long pre-season so that we can be ready and raring to go next year. That's always gonna work....isn't it? Actually, now that I think about it......](*,)
