I also read one of the TV Show Sunrise ladies is in trouble for a racist comment she said, and apologised for, a good 5 years ago.
Don't get me wrong I love a good stab at those kinds of people and those kinds of shows, but I'm not fully tracking the back tracking on things that have already been addressed to be truthful.
If Netflix and/or Stan remove Community from their platforms because of all this I will be beyond upset.

People has been saying things about his “comedy” for years, but it’s only years after the fact that it has become insulting enough to pull off air, when it was also lauded in its time (mostly by teenagers who would probably now be the woke ones)

Oh look another protest this weekend in which this one this time has actually been deemed illegal.
Doesn't stop them going ahead with it.
Selfish deluded fucking pieces of shit.

I'm sure plenty here think I'm a fuckstick but I find those videos completely unwatchable with my modern understanding of the world. I don't think they should be deleted off youtube, unfortunately youtube fills a role in archiving such footage but I don't think it should be promoted on commercial pay per view platforms like Netflix, Stan etc. At the very least not without a disclaimer providing context. People really do get outraged over little.

How is any of it an issue? Do you support free speech? Why can't people have an opinion on something even if it happened 5,10,15, or 100 years ago? Even IF (and its a very unlikely if), she lost her job from it, her income is directly derived from eyeballs watching the show so that advertisers will pay to advertise to them. If a network was to decide they could make more money by having someone else in the position without that baggage... well that's just capitalism in all its glory. I personally don't watch Sunrise because of all 3 of these incidents, and giving Pauline Hanson, Mark Latham and Co a far bigger platform than they should ever have been afforded. That's my choice, if Sunrise are still killing it in the rates then all power to them. If people eventually wake up to this stuff and they start to tank then that's all good for me too.

Our society, globally, seems to have gotten into a very hindsight-driven nature. Look at Kevin Spacey a few years back, they delved decades back to incriminate him. I'm like you, I personally don't watch (and can't stand) Sunrise because to me they are boring ignorant racist boomers, enabling some of the worst of our society. But what is right and wrong to look back to, I've got no idea personally where my line is drawn. Like I said though, if the communal decision is it's fair game to scrape all this nonsense back up, I'm wondering when they'll uncover the next spider lying underneath a rock. In the meantime, leave Community on Netflix please.

Just like how we provide warnings for coarse language or violence, a notation saying "this video contains content that some may find offensive" is adequate. I mean ffs you can buy mein Kampf at bookstores, which usually contains a blurb outlining the evil nature and intention of the book. We should never move to erase things from existence, otherwise how do we learn to improve as a society?

Everyone has got a platform now to air their opinion, uncovering spiders isn't the worst thing in the world IMO. And yes, please leave Community alone and we need the movie!

+xI definitely missed something. What have people been saying about Community? Netflix have removed The Mighty Boosh from their listing almost entirely because of Rudi van Disarzio, so there is genuine concern Chang as Brutalitops, or basically anything related to Pierce, will see Community suffer the same fate.

+xNever watched community. What's 'controversial' about it? Nothing really, the "blackface" pv4 is referring to is not like the others. The character is portraying a fictional elf and is not trying to parody black humans in any way. Sure there's a chance that there might be an overreaction to trying to do the right thing but if it were to happen it already would have I reckon.
