+xCarpenter to Lyon, huge news, they were given the World Cup final over Paris for a reason. Great news- not surprised- such a gun player. Same team as ballon d’or winner Ada Hegerberg 🎯

With so many female players at big European clubs now you'd hope they'd start looking at getting players straight out of Australia.

+xGlad to hear Taggart scored, was getting worried. i wonder if guys like Jeggo or Holland are ever in the frame for moves to bigger teams like RB Salzburg Young Boys in Switzerland or a top B2 team. They play often enough and are pretty experienced in Austria. Holland did play in B2 (though not a top team) for MSV Duisburg a few years back, but just for the season before taking the money in China.

But looks like 10 Dutch and 8 Belgian sides are going to form a combined super league.
Austrian and Swiss leagues also potentially merging into a new Alpine League.

This, however, seems like a decent idea with small neighbouring leagues. There are already some similar things with Welsh teams in England. MLS combines the Canadian market well. A League has Wellington. It's definitely a novelty and the countries mentioned had very similar cultures and language.

Didn’t they try that a few years ago with their women’s teams, only to cancel it a few years later?
I think it could happen in Scandinavia. Imagine Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland combining for an 18 team league.

I daresay, if for example this happened immediately, the CL spots for this league would probably be something like what Russia gets?

Yeah it makes sense for smaller groups of neighbouring countries to share a top tier, and they're considered as one league for continental qualification.

The good thing about Europe is that the way coefficient points are earned is very clear, so they'd just recalculate using existing results, I'd imagine.

Mabil starting and subbed off after 59 minutes in a 0-0 draw with Brondby keeping them top of the table. Five subs used.

As reported Irvine is done with Hull. Davidson not in squad. Mooy and Ryan to return. O'Neil starting.

Sarpreet Singh in the Starting XI for Bayern.
They’ve obviously won the league already so don’t care anymore, but still impressive none the less.
Borrello on the bench against him.

Watch for cute moments between Maty and Mustafi when they see each other in the tunnel etc. They’re besties from their Valencia days.

Bundesliga is weird without the atmosphere. EPL not so much.
By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

Luongo and Elder starting. Dougall bench. But what caught my eye most was a Australian flag next to young Ryan Yates' name at Nottingham Forest. Most websites have him as English but I remember when Souttar was as Scottish as Haggis on every website. Interesting. https://www.transfermarkt.com/ryan-yates/profil/spieler/425902

Save Maty! Awkward cross bounces at head height for Arsenal to get a swift one down but it's within Ryan's range for one of those solid reflexes.

HT: Brighton 0-0 Arsenal Maty with a great save from Lacazette. Mooy with a good strike that was saved.
Other than that, not a whole lot of concrete chances for either side tbh. Hoping the second half is a little more lively.

Mooy subbed off at half time as rotations begin.
