Seeming most of the supporters are there in the summer, something that provides sun shade could look great and would be much cheaper and more feasible than building a traditional grandstand roof. I don't they were being anti soccer, I think they were being stupid and pig headed. Agreed. They didn't allow it happen not because they're anti-soccer and anti-Hindmarsh. They did it because they don't care about it. To them, having the stadium completed in time for the 2014 AFL season is far more important. The political fall out of the project not going to schedule (which will probably still happen regardless) is not in the best interests of the SAG. I still maintain that the cost to do this from scratch is extremely feasible. If the SAG can put $500mill into AO and effectively hand it over to the SACA and SANFL to manage, they could at least fund installing shade over the 3 exposed stands. I think it is feasible too, though the saving in materials would have been nice as those sails are worth a pretty penny.

Not sure, I think he would like a gig in Asia (CSL for example would be a prime opportunity for him) but am thinking the club has decided that they have enough defenders on the books.

The signing of Fyfe was telling Speaking of Fyfe, he really needs some running into that gut of his aha and the beard doesn't hide it, i know, ive tried before! I really hope we don't lose McKain as well as Boogs though. One or the other for me as I don't feel safe enough with Fyfe, Golec and Mullen as our CB for a whole season. Though I have a suspicion that's the plan. Certainly cheaper. Ugh. I just feel Johnny is finally starting to show the composure we all knew he had when we signed him.

I know it is from a professional, however often the same images appear in many places so was hoping something slightly higher res is around. I don't really want to pay for it, just for my personal desktop wallpaper and really not a big deal if I don't get it.

Great photo. It would've been nice if Palmer's chopper was in flames in the background too. And throw in some bikini sluts too. Everybody loves them.

not sure what the club is on about in the latest email... Quote:the Club was delighted with the response from the football fraternity that turned up on Wednesday night, as was Fox Sports.
Indeed, this was the largest attendance to an AFC Champions League match in Australia this year, so thank you to everyone who came along and helped create such a great atmosphere. wrong. both of Brisbanes crowds have been higher... love their research skills

The rumor is that Kappa could be our kit supplier next season...

Have offered the club $20 to allow me to hand-write my name on the game jerseys in texta as a sponsor. Now Clive is out I'm probably the best option and they'll be $20 better off. It's a bit sad that the best ACL team in Australia can't get a shirt sponsor.
I wonder what the minimum spend would be. Wouldn't it be great if the fans pooled some dollars and became the front-of-shirt sponsor for the last home game. I'd be in for $50. Just need a couple of hundred of us and we'd have $10,000 to offer for one game. Then Val would have real story to write about something positive.
Dreaming... I would be in. Lets see if we can get it rolling. I've sent an email to Matt Rossi to see if the club would be interested in making this happen. A few people expressed an interest in this idea so I asked the club. Took a while to get an answer and then a while to get the idea through clearly. Because of the delay there's no longer time to get the printing done even if we could raise the cash. I asked about next year's kit but the cost of a logo on the players kits would be pretty high. I'd still love to see some way of getting a fan-based kit sponsorship in some way just as a sign that we love the club and are willing to back that up. Anyhoo.....

I wonder if something like a Kickstarter campaign would work. Set a deadline for people to pledge money (i.e. before the shirts need to be printed) and see how much money can be found. The upside of a promotion like that is generally you set reward tiers; perhaps if someone pledges more than $50 they receive the new logo that they can sew onto their jersey. If they pledge more than $150 (or $200, I have no idea on pricing) they can receive a jersey with the logo on it when the new ones are ready. Bit of an incentive never hurts ;)

We have a few people who would be in like Flynn if we could do this from both this forum and the WeAreTheReds forum. I say keep going with it.

Mild interest/disinterest is what I'd say the club's response (through Matt) was. I asked for ball-park costs for getting something on the kit for next year but got no answer. He suggested that people should be encouraged to take out membership or maybe have a sign at the ground. I suggested that the sort of people who would get behind this idea were probably already members and that having something on the kit is much more attractive than having a sign around the pitch.
Surely if we could get a minimum of $5000 it would still be worth it for the good publicity that could be generated by the idea of the fans buying in. Anyway, maybe the conversation hasn't ended.

We may not be able to pitch front of shirt sponsorship but what about sleeve or shorts? I think it is worth pursuing and our AGM (which really needs to be getting anounced) is one place we can raise it.

Mate, front of shirt is 150-200k. We're looking at something small on the sleeve or shorts as you suggested. Still a good story and great if the fans could be out there on the pitch.

It has been suggested that the shirt & sleeve sponsorship $ the club received was pitiful.

Maybe, but I think they would take sponsorship in any form.
