Should put Vukovic in goal and let Ryan play outfield. Steady feet he has.

God Maty! Anyone just seeing that? He goes to hurl the ball and slams it into the ground. It bounces diagonally behind him and he rushes to tackle the oncoming Leicester player. Redeemed himself but that could've been disaterous. One of this keeper gaffes

Is it the better players? The shirt cut? Mooy looks so sleek and fit for Brighton. For Australia his legs can seem like cement at times. I guess those hot conditions and bad pitches don't help. Jordan, Kuwait and Taiwan weren't exactly bowling greens. Has to be his sharper team mates too.

HT 0-0
Yep, was an awkward error from Maty. Luckily he recovered pretty quickly with some smart thinking. Otherwise, Maty’s footwork and passing has been great this first half.
Mooy’s passing has been beautiful, his through-ball earning Brighton a penalty which Maupay unfortunately missed.
Mooy later had a clear shot at goal from the edge of the area where he really should have scored or at least hit the target, but he miskicked and dragged his shot wide.

FT: 0-0
If you’d have offered me a point away to Leicester before the match I would have taken it every day of the week.
The only real moment of note in the match though was Maupay’s missed penalty, so you do wonder what could have been.
Either way, 4 points from their opening 2 games against Arsenal and Leicester is an unbelievable result and Brighton are now set up nicely to avoid the drop.

Seems ages ago earlier on in the game but that penalty miss is big. Will check the fixtures out and see what's coming up. They've already done some heavy lifting early on. West Ham are a blunder.

https://www.transfermarkt.com/milislav-popovic/profil/spieler/388303Milislav Popovic released from his second division Austrian team. Shame it didnt work out for him - I think he did his knee really early on and was only back at fitness just before Covid. Still only 23 and he was impressive for the Olyroos a few years back. Wonder if he will try and stay in Europe - could be a good pick up for an A-League side.

3-1 win for Haifa. Sainsbury conceded a penalty and Ruka probably should've been awarded one.
By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

Story of Australian youth development right there.

Karacic red card in the 73rd minute in a 1-1 draw, although the scoring was done by the 14th minute. Lokomotiva remaining in a UCL position in 2nd behind Dinamo.

Aiden O’Neill’s contact has been extended again at Burnley. I figured 2 years loaned out to Australia, they may have called it quits,...

Agree that his decline has been unusually precipitous. Let go by a relegated 3rd division club... It ain't pretty.

Decent bit of involvement from Leckie for their goal late in the second half. Shame about Borrello, needs to look elsewhere. Elder, Jeggo started

Robben has come out of retirement to sign for Groningen. Could be an issue for Hrustic.
