+xIt’s some recruitment drive the Eels have managed the past 2 seasons:- Moses Matterson Waqa (Penrith paying some freight) RCG (Penrith paying some freight) Ferguson Lane Jr Paulo Then the no names they’ve uncovered to blend in:- Sivo Mahoney Dylan Brown Nuikora Ray Stone Like the Morris Bro’s... Gutherson & Jennings playing better footy now than they ever have too.
Now can we honestly match that recruitment drive with the mugs in charge or our club? Hill & Lynne Anderson are barely sighted, while no one knows who the fekk is our recruitment manager/officers are?? The current face of the club, Dean Pay looks depressed & void of any idea to give any fan hope.... because the team ISN’T getting better under his watch.
How many of the calibre of CHN have they let go?

The hardest thing for fans to do is be patient....
It is tempting to think sacking the board, appointing a new coach and signing a bunch of players will being instant success, that rarely works, especially when you start out at the bottom of the table..
For the coach and some players it is time to weigh the evidence and make an informed decision...
Success is going to come from keeping the right players, especially in key positions and recruiting some players..especially in key position.
Lasting success is going to come from rebuilding junior development and scouting, medium term success from singing some good young players who are NRL ready, or almost NRL ready, but almost certainly future NRL players..
I think we are building success, rather than attempting to buy success, and that has to factor into the decision to recruit a coach...
Sure we want a coach who will improve short term results and climb the table, but we also want a coach who will build for the medium and long term, hopefully turning the club back into a powerhouse..
Over and above the coach we need to look at what good operators like Penrith are doing with junior development and copy some aspects.
IMO we need to be patient with the board and management, their performance has to be judged over a longer time period, starting next season...
If we need to toss out this board and management, we are also tossing out the last of our historical club culture, if that is needed, it requires rebuilding the club back up from ground zero, and I don't know who can do that job... if it comes to that and we want the club to survive, all options including relocation should be on the table.... this board and management is last roll of the dice for the Dogs out of Belmore IMO, fail and we are the new Newtown or North Sydney... a club going nowhere, living on past glories..
Don't be fooled into thinking there is an easy quick solution, short-cuts, rushed decisions, panic and lack of attention to detail are what got us into this mess. ... more of the same will finish the job.
Go Dogs - gee do we need a win ...

CHN is purely on Hill's head. Trying to play the martyr/puritan, he overcooked the CHN side of the issue and basically cut our legs out from under us. Greenberg did the dog act of laying the boot in while we were on the ground and defenceless. The only redeeming factor from that whole bungled saga was that Toddy boy was served karma and got the ar$e himself.

Sacking CHN = trying to rebuild the image of the club... probably overcooked .. but we are paying a price for past player behaviour and media reporting.. The media attitude to player behaviour is part of the the equation, for some other clubs some issues are almost ignored, we are always front page news. This is an attempt and short term pain for long term gain, so is our cap management, both are risky, becoming a struggling club is risky, remaining a club with a bad image is risky...

Having a squeaky clean image and getting belted of the park every week is also very risky.

Go Dogs - gee do we need a win ... See theres the problem.... You are looking for a win to divert attention away. I dont care if we lose as long as we play the right type of footy. Because if we play the right way, I'm sure any coach will be able to recruit in key areas and soon enough we will win and be able to back up a win with another win. Winning 1 game is just band aid and doesnt achieve anything positive other than keep the pressure off for a week

Why the fekk is the Bulldogs game on at the same time as the Hawks in AFL again?
This happened last Sunday too.
It's almost like they know I'll throw my remote at the tv watching the Dogs game so they give me the Hawks game to calm me down.
Maybe they're protecting my tv and I should be thankful....

+x+xSo Adam Elliott has finally started delivering consistent form in 2020 after a number of years of mediocrity.
How much do you peeps think he’s worth for his next contract?
If Jackson is on around $600/700k per season, surely Elliott wouldn’t be worth anything more than $450k
We’ve carried him for years, the drop balls, poor form, mad Monday etc.... again, maybe under a different coach, he might up another level or two, but we shouldn’t be paying overs for him!
We clearly need a dynamic 9, a gun backline player & a quality 6/7 along with a CHN clone for 2021.... that’s where the $$$ need to be spent!
If Elliott picks up $600k from the Dragons for example, then let him go I say.... . Elliot is as worth as much as JJ, probably a bit more...
Dib 2.0 in full effect!

PVL should use his racing connections and call in the handicapper. A lot of rubbish among a few good games. I don't know where the players for expansion are going to come from. If they don't expand by two, no extra games. Where will the extra revenue come from.

Well he certainly has a different demeanor to his usual style of interview. He either has had the tap, he's worried he is going to get the tap, or he is just tap dancing to throw us a curved ball !!!

Mdog, my views exactly. They will be pushing it to expand the comp because there is not enough quality players to fill the rosters of the teams they currently have.

Anyone watching the other Woodie contenders?
Warriors denied a try through accidental contact where all commentators said Milford couldn't get to the play. Then the Ref says OK but penalty to Warriors through offside by another player (BOYD). Still no try.

I reckon if we beat Souths tomorrow and send the Broncos to last place, Seibold will be sacked.
This should be inspiration enough to win.
Pay should play them the 2014 GF as a rev up to come out firing.

Just wow.
