Thanks guys! :d :d =d> so would this mean local guys arent allowed in or have to sit higher up? Sorry but I hate the idea - it's not s regional game if that's at Hindmarsh You could of had coaching clinics in the specified area And even with the subsidised travel and accommodation I doubt many could come down anyhow DUMB DUMB DUMB

My take on the night without repeating what has already been excellently reported:)
We all see the club as ‘our’ club and so it is interesting to see what others view as important. I thought Glenn, Matt and Mike were very generous with their time and openness in answering what could just as easily be put off as 1%-er gripes. Great that the club views Hindmarsh and the ownership of the asset that it is as a (very) long term goal. Even securing a 20 year lease at favourable terms would encourage the owners to invest in the facilities which were mentioned to be sub standard many times(specifically the example of Cassio sitting in an esky filled with ice in the bathroom instead of a proper post match ice bath.) A lot of time was spent(wasted?) by supporters regarding the Flores issue. Short answer, we apparently can’t afford his demands and he will not be in a Red shirt any time soon. I think the sooner people get over this the better. Its like getting dumped and pining over your ex when she’s already engaged to another fella. Its self-defeating. its just not healthy. Better to focus on what we have and moving forward from here. Glenn was extremely confident that the new TV rights deal would cover the Salary cap meaning no club should have an excuse bar ineptitude for trading in the Red going forward. Final take-away from the media discussion is that Glenn feels that ch10 are the front runners for a FTA component, but is unsure about how the mechanics of the deal would work out – save that the games would primarily involve the Eastern States teams(BRI-SYD-WS-MVC-MHT) My general take on the financial side of things is that the New media deal will underpin the stability of the league for a long time to come, giving all 10 clubs time to grow at a sustainable rate all a general positive out look on the behind the scenes framework of the HAL. The new website Adelaide Reds is a direct offshoot of the fact we have members as it appears to allow the club to get around the FFA mandated club websites. I must have been not paying attention to any talk regarding a club song. If it is an AFL-style victory song then I want no part of it That is the culture of another sport, not ours. I hope what ever the club decides, they allow for “no song” as an option in any voting we conduct. I am quite happy with Reds fans singing Twist and shout if we are winning at the 80 minute mark and Chase the Sun after we score goals – all of which came about organically, from the fans by the fans. Overall I thought it a worthwhile event and it is great that our club is one of he few(the only?) that does it. I did like the comment whereby the club recognizes that a lot of fans hate AdelOval for games despite the bigger attendances that pad out our average crowd figure. SMA = SANFL and Cricket 2 sports which haven't exactly done much to help football in SA.

Thanks for filling in the blanks. There's probably more content that we have missed in our reports as well. :p

I'm not sure how anybody could complain too much about the regional round being at Hindmarsh? Its another home game essentially? and last years effort in Bathurst was used by numbers illiterates to drag down our season crowd average as technically it was our home game...hardly fair as it was in fricken Bathjurst ferchrissakes! I guarantee we'll do better than 2,500 this time around and by laying on transport and organizing hotel deals for those coming from far away, we'll likely be increasing our fan base here in SA:)

Oh also, Greg Griffin is still currently in talks to take a youth team over to China for the Weifang Cup again, to again assess which players can step it up to the next level, and therefore sign for the NYL team. I think it's awesome that we have been invited to these types of youth competitions to play against other youth teams from around the world.
There was a mention of the Villarreal Yellow Cup invite after last year's Weifang Cup too, but I don't know if that's going ahead or not. I shall ask Red Out Loud. :D
EDIT: Looks like the Yellow Cup has already been and gone in April. Oh well...

It seems the club are finally getting sick of all the focus on Flores, but I reckon that his unatainability will continue to be ignored by the desperate!

It is not that desperate. You might be over it but that is good for you general. The reality is SVD wants to go owners looking in Europe for a buyer if he is brought it will go towards Marcos. Now it is a long shot but not as desperate as you might think. a buyer get SVD we get flores. now the bit hurdle is that flores could sign for another team in the time it takes to find a buyer for SVD or SVD might not even be sold. Now do i expect him to come to the club for next season NO i don't. But if SVD gets sold i would get very excited if flores is still free.

Yep the latest response on Red Out Loud summed up everything at the minute. Unfortunately some supporters are too blind sighted to release it isn't as easy as releasing SVD. I'm actually embarrassed at how pathetic some of the supporters have portrayed the club on the Facebook page.

Of course I don't buy into that as Sydney's " regional " fixture against the Roar was @ Cambelltown, and Heart's was @ Morwell FFS! As for the continual bleating about Flores.I think you'd find that most of those complaining are pre-pubescent teenagers. The wiser heads whove experienced more of life's vaguery's and those with some understanding of basyc economics and business realise that it's not going to happen.

The fact is, we are not getting Flores back with finances and the current squad in place. The sooner people get that into their head, the sooner our club can move on from replying to stupid and pointless questions from the public.

They've answered it already. I'm satisfied with the response (there's some bits that actually don't make sense but these things are commercially confidential) and the speed in which it came out. People need to give it a rest, the club knows we would like Flores playing for us and his value.

We need something to talk about in the off season lol That us why this flores thing is getting such a bit beat up. The club are looking to sell him if he can but like i said im not going to get excited at all about flores even coming back until we sell SVD and if flores is still on the market other wise i think we have out squad for next season made already.
But if people want to talk about it and keep going on let them not desperate the guy is a united legend they wont stop lol

Quote:Australia defender Sasa Ognenovski revealed a move to the Persian Gulf is on the cards as he bids to lighten the load on his body en route to the 2014 World Cup.
The 33-year-old Seongnam Ilhwa Chunma stopper, who shone for the Socceroos in the World Cup qualifiers against Oman and Japan, rejected a switch to Qatar-based Al Wahda 10 months ago.
But with two clubs from the region currently circling him, the ageless Ognenovski – soon to be a free agent as he resists signing on for a fourth season at Seongnam – is now ready to embrace the Petrodollars in a calculated effort to reduce wear and tear on his battle-hardened physique.
"More than likely my next move will be to Qatar," Ognenovski said.
"The idea is to lessen the load on my body a little bit. This season in the K-League we play 44 league games. We've played seven Asian Champions League games and a couple of FA Cup games, so it's quite demanding.
"That's a pretty heavy work load and there are never any easy games. Also coaches here never pull you out, even if you're suffering fatigue.
"I just want to look after my body a bit more and maybe play 35 games a season, rather than say 50.
"There are a couple of clubs who have shown interest, so we will see what happens. I could have gone to Qatar last year but at that time I was looking more at a move to Europe."
The 13-times capped Ognenovski came close to a move to Crystal Palace last January but was stymied by visa restrictions over the number of games he had played for Australia over the preceding two years.
The challenge in places like Qatar is making sure you keep a high level of professionalism, according to Ognenovski.
Soccceroos team-mate Mark Bresciano has flourished in the UAE Pro League League with Al Nasr while Aussie skipper Lucas Neill spent last season with Al Jazira and is looking to secure another contract in the United Arab Emirates.
"They can't train as hard and play with the same intensity that a lot of other leagues do because of the heat," Ognenovski said.
"So you have to make sure your professionalism doesn't slip at any time.
"I've had a great time in Korea. I've won trophies and individual honours and have in a way opened the door for other Australian players to play in the K-League."
Despite seemingly dropping down the pecking order in recent internationals as Japan-based Matthew Spiranovic got the nod, Ognenovski reclaimed the prized centre-back spot alongside Neill and now sees the duo as likely incumbents on the road to Brazil 2014.
"I think at the moment we are the first choice pair. Fortunately for us, and not so fortunately for them, none of the young boys have really come in and taken the bull by the horns," the 2010 AFC Player of the Year declared.
"So while some of them also are playing regularly for their clubs, for the moment it looks like falling on Lucas and myself.
"I think we're doing a decent job and I don't see too much changing for the next few qualifiers unless of course our form drops off."
Ognenovski – rested for the friendly against Denmark in early June – believes his experience is an added boost for national team boss Holger Osieck.
"I didn't play the Denmark game more so because we have a heavy load in the K-League and I'd played six games in less than two weeks," he said.
"But I always felt I would probably get the nod for the qualifiers.
"When I came in alongside Lucas for the Oman match I felt very comfortable.
"I've played for the national team for a little while now and I feel quite comfortable that I can do a job."http://theworldgame.sbs.com.au/news/1111198/Ognenovski-eyes-off-Qatar-deal AUFC, GET ONTO THIS!!!!!

May have successfully convinced someone to secure a 15 person corporate box package for next season rather than continue with their current Football Park into Adelaide Oval package. $30k for a 15 person corporate box at Hindmarsh compared to $50,000 for a 4 person corporate seating (not box!) package at Adelaide Oval, hopefully will be a non brainer for his company! If it works I will let you know :)
