Bloke hasn’t played a game of footy for his many weeks???...

Good point, but he was ordinary at Penrith and ordinary in the trials...

Pinning our hopes on this guy is grasping at straws, I don't know why we signed him....

Maybe if he had regular reserve grade he might improve, Holland isn't the answer at 14.

At least Thompson had a dig, if we had Thompson and Elliott on the field at the same time then at least we have some passion and intensity.

I guess the Dogs nailing Tim Lafai is a sign that “yet another” possible signing in Cotric has given the Dogs the thumbs down

Can I also say that Wakeham has disappointed for a couple of weeks in a row now.

I like him and I feel he is hindered by our crap style and lack of x factor players around him.

I still feel Lewis is ahead of him. I feel Lewis is the better player for this team at the moment which is trying to rebuild.

Wakeham might be better when the team is back to top 8 team but I dont think he's the right guy st the moment.

Maybe give him a rest but Wakeham is a half, Lewis isn't it is a specalist position..

It is hard for a young half in a weak team, but it is a great learning experience as long as the young guy doesn't lose confidence..

Wakeham can throw a long pass Lewis can't....

The team needs a energy lift, can start Lewis and play Wakeham off the bench.

I want to see Lewis get through a game without throwing 3 really poor passes.... no point in forgetting what players did last time around.

If I was coach, I'd show our team a split screen replay of us and the Roosters in a full set of six starting from a kick return.

Play by play, I'd pause and show them how far the Roosters gave moved forward and how far we have. I'd focus on how many runners the Roosters used running at the line and how many we used. Which side of ruck the Roosters attacked and which side we did. How many times the Roosters halves touched the ball in the set vs us. And where the Roosters kicked the ball from and the quality of the kick vs ours.

I'd then get us out on the field and REPLICATE the exact set of six the Roosters did. Exact set of six with the same players in motion, decoys, chasers and kick.

I'd then do the same with a set of 6 starting at halfway. And then the same with a set of 6 starting on the opposition 30m from a penalty or scrum.

I'd make us replicate EXACTLY what the Roosters do. First with no one in front of them. Then with our reserve graders pretending to be the opposition.

Surely it will get them thinking or understanding what it takes to be a top team.

I often wonder WTF we do in our video sessions?

I would not say that... but Lafai has an unfortunate habit of forcing a dumb offload.

Lots comes down to the forwards, a dominant team can defend errors, a team that is barely hanging on can't.

That is why our fans are lazer focused on errors, most errors we make result in opposition points.

We are not even smart enough to concede a penalty off a scrum like every other team.

Meanwhile, I absolutely LOVE the passion that Bellamy shows in the coaches box.

He abuses players and rips into the support coaches. You just know he hold players and assistant coaches  to account and grills players in their video sessions.

As I type this, Ryan Pappenhuyzen just pulled off a miracle by fielding a kick near the sideline at speed,  turn on a dime near the sideline and sprinting 80m for a try

I miss Ben Barba.....and Brett Dallas.....

You are very right.

But this is the result of our poor approach to the game. If your gameplan revolves around trying to win 8-6 every game.....you better be near perfect every game otherwise every mistake you make can cost you the game.

You cant play this unforgiving gamestyle with a team on a rebuild. In fact you shouldn't play it period.

That’s a bit like saying Cook was behind Lichaa.... and only one spine spot is a 9, so the others wouldn’t affect that...

He did drop down the pecking order very quickly there... But coaches want what coaches want...

If he’s that ordinary it’s merely a further indictment on Pay taking his phone call...

And I watch all the games... ;)

The sad thing is.......I watch teams that get flogged (Sharks by 50 today, Cows by 40 on Thursday) and even their poor performances would be enough to beat us.

We are seriously worse than 16th but lucky there are no more teams in this comp.

If they combined reserve grade with NRL we'd still be near bottom of table.

Brittian was behind Cook and can't get regular NRL at the Dragons..

He has energy aggression a kicking game, is a good defender and plays short sides like a genius...

Sure he also makes the odd mistake... but he may have been exactly what we need.

Katoa had more NRL experience but sometimes you need to gamble, just average is code for reserve grade.
Brittian would have been a hit or a flop.

Same goes with Meaney at fullback... fortune favours the brave ... just average rarely wins...

Sign players with potential.... try them and if it doesn't work out.... move on.

It really shows without Averillo and Elliott in the side, we don't have many exceptional players who can make things happen.... if the opposition shuts down Foran that is our attack neutralized...

Part of it is not having many forwards with impact, but in the better sides the 9 and 1 add plenty.

If the players keep having a dig, they will jag the odd win, sooner or later the opposition will be worse than we are.

But with our selected team,  we really need the opposition to play down to our level.

Jacko's form is even a problem... he is carrying an injury or needs a rest, perhaps he just needs a win.... is is a shame when a champ is down on form and energy.

I watch just about every game.
And trust me. We are poorer than most think and have been for years.

People use to criticize the Reynolds and the Inus and the Kasianos of the team but those guys masked the ridiculousness of this teams core problems.

Without those kind of players we have nothing and are easy picking for any defence.

i'd give Barrett a shot. I know there's the mess at the end with Manly but a few points about that:
It's been reported he knows he did a lot wrong there and has learned from it.
He is highly regarded by many in the game inc and especially Mr Potato Head.
He's done good work at The Panthers especially credited with the work hie' done with Cleary in particular and the halves and backs in general.
And he's hands on coaching Penrith's attack, and Penrith's attack is great.

Give him his three years and sack him after two if things don't go as well as we want. What will happen I got no doubt is our whole attacking game will change and it can only get better. And that's what we need more than anything - something or someone to snap us out of this gamestyle we've been carrying since 2013.

If nothing else, things will change dramatically with ball in hand. and that alone is worth the shot.
