+x+xIt's quite hilarious that the bunker can call a player offside (even if by centimetres) yet state that they cannot adjudicate on a forward pass. A bit of a cop out really. I understand backwards then floating forward crap but it makes it so difficult to adjudicate. Just simplify it if it's taken in front of the passer its forward. If you want the bunker involved this would make it possible. Backwards out of the hands is not a valid indicator of whether a pass is forward or not.

Appart from concussion issues Averillo needs to improve his defence.
Pangi jr was getting yards and offloads at will for the Broncos, we struggle to contain that type of player.

Someone on Twitter just stated a fact:
In 2019 Crichton played 5 games for Dogs for 5 losses
In 2020 Crichton played 7 games for Dogs for 7 losses

Not that I need any more inspiration than 30 schooners... It’d be the first thing the germoulists had right about us since Dib&co were shown the door... Which is surely just coincidence...

Our recruitment is in a unique position. Anyone we recruit will be better than what we let go. Problem. They may all be crap.

Technically they are 2 separate adjudication. Offside is a freeze frame comparison while a forward pass could be momentum dependent. But I agree with you in that the bunker is best placed to adjudicate on forward pass even if they do have to account for momentum. All it takes is a couple of reviews.

They'll get it right eventually. The amount of speculation ( make ups) they've come up with makes an accidental correct call likely.

The problem is the orientation of the shoulders relative to the field needs to be considered. The player could be at 45° to the sideline so backwards out of the hands is irrelevant. Needs simplification

Mdog, if the pass is that flat that it floats forward, and it is caught in front of the position from which it was passed it should be deemed forward. If a team has a deep line it is never an issue, only when they push a line ball it is noticable.

+xSomeone on Twitter just stated a fact: In 2019 Crichton played 5 games for Dogs for 5 losses In 2020 Crichton played 7 games for Dogs for 7 losses Crichton has a dig, he is a bit small to be an NRL winger. For years we got by with Hazem on the wing, but Haz was smart in defence, and we had better forwards. No concidence most of our successful seasons have been when we had good forwards. Since we replaced Klem with Napa we have just about the worst pack I can remember. Like 2008 there are issues in just about every position. Tadpole and co did a good job of the rebuild, Des took over a fairly good squad. So it can be done. Part of that rebuild was Hannant and Ennis, Josh Morris was another good signing. Hannant later screwed us, but this shows the formula. Most surprising of all Jamal Idris went nowhere he looked like a gun player 2008/2009. So we have been down this road before, this time we are starting out with better halves. In spite of all their faults the 2020 side rarely throws in the towel, I remember some games in 2008 where taking Jarrad Hickey and Corey Hughes off after 20 minutes caused the team to go to pieces. I know that is hard to believe, but unfortunately it is also hard to forget.

Law 12 - Direction of Pass 1. The direction of a pass is relative to the player making it and not to the actual path relative to the ground. A player running towards his opponents’ goal line may throw the ball towards a colleague who is behind him but because of the thrower’s own momentum the ball travels forward relative to the ground. This is not a forward pass as the thrower has not

dman, yeah I know what the rules are and we have been down this path before, but the passes are so flat that will never travel back. It shouldn't matter ehich direcyion the player passes the ball. If the reciever catches the pass in front of the player who passed it should be deemed a forward pass. My whole point on this matter is that some players push a pass so flat it flaunts the rules. Cameron Smith is reknown for it.

If the ball leaves the hands travelling in the direction of the opposing goal line it’s forward... pretty simple for mine...

+xDoes anyone know how many points we’ve had scored against us since supercoach Pay dropped Lewis? I understand Wakeham is a little more attack minded than Lewis, but we really haven’t scored that many more points/tries with him in the side compared to having Lewis instead who defensively is much better. We’ve leaked so many points the past 4 games.... For every good tackle he makes he lets in a try or gives away a penalty
