I hope it is not Culina, not sure why but never been a big fan although he obviously could play. Can he still play after the injury?
Nathan Burns would be great, but I will believe it when he is signed, it just seems unlikely.

If it is Culina I will be calling the club and talking to Glenn, you do not sign up someone who has been trying to recover from a career ending injury.

Can we actually afford any Socceroo that is decent? Glenn's opinions on the whole marquee system seem to indicate he wouldnt be up for chucking a large amount of money at a player.

My fantasy list of "Socceroos" that if we signed would be awesome (in order): 1. Bresciano 2. Holman 3. Brosque 4. Burns 5. McKay Outside of these guys, I won't be that excited. Only Burns is even a remote possibility but great mates with Bruce seems to be the only thing going for that rumour.

Here is the full media release from a mate of mine: Dan van Holst Pellekaan MP Shadow Minister for Regional Development Shadow Minister for Sport & Recreation Shadow Minister for Racing ________________________________________ Labor’s soccer snub According to documents obtained under Freedom of Information, the Football Federation Australia (FFA) offered to help the State Labor Government develop a suitable stadium so that SA could be a part of the 2015 Asian Cup Finals. In Estimates Committee, Minister Kenyon stated: “We put our hand up to be part of the formal bid—the formal Australian bid. The Football Federation of Australia (FFA) were not prepared to include South Australia because our capacity at Hindmarsh was too small. So, we were not part of the formal bid going to the Asian Federation. We tried to be part of the bid but were not allowed to be, basically, is the short answer”. (Hansard 26/07/2012) But what he failed to inform the committee was the FFA offered to assist the SA Government deliver a technically compliant stadium and the Government ignored this offer. Chief Executive Officer, Ben Buckley in a letter to the State Government wrote: “As indicated previously, FFA is committed to working with the South Australian Government to deliver a technically compliant stadium that supports our major event bid infrastructure” The FOI documents also indicated that the bid for the 2015 Asian Cup Finals submission date was December 2009 and the Labor Government announced the redevelopment of Adelaide Oval on 2 December 2009. “Labor chose to upgrade Adelaide Oval and ignore the offer of the FFA to deliver a compliant stadium and now we will miss out on South Australia’s share of the 50,000 international visitors and $23 million economic contribution which this fantastic event will bring to Australia,” Mr van Holst Pellekaan said. “This was a great opportunity for the Government to get far more value out of the $535 million taxpayer dollars for the Adelaide Oval by helping three sports rather than just two.
“There was no cost-benefit analysis done and potential benefits from this event were not discussed with the Tourism Commission before making the decision.
“Labor should come clean and apologise to soccer fans, the tourism industry and taxpayers for this massive blunder.” www.danvhp.com.au

Info about season tickets/financial membership http://www.footballaustralia.com.au/adelaideunited/seasonticketsGonna do my best to get a Gold Membership + Financial Membership this season. Never been able to do it before but I'm gonna try my best to make it happen :D Really they aren't too bad prices. Works out at Gold = $24 per game Red = $16.50 per game Compared to Gold = $35 per game Red = $25 per game Not too bad a saving overall. Yes the prices could be better but really it's not worth complaining about.

If they are medically sound and pass a medical test why not? He's a cut above almost every player in the league when fit and would be able to fill the playmaker role we need.

it all comes down to money if it is culina, he should be put on a michael owen type deal. you get paid for the games you play in. only because he is such a high risk with returning from such complex knee surgery
has anyone thought it could be scott mcdonald? he is on the transfer list and had no offers recently??

With Birighitti off at Newcastle now, is Izzo your 2nd choice, or am I forgetting about another keeper/new signing?

Sorta not the type of player we needed anyway. Need a nice attacking midfielder fast who can counter attack score goals and create them.
but then again he will probably be signed lol but will kossie sign a guy on a one year loan deal. Remember in the interview this week he was like you cant buy success you need to build it with players over years ect ect

Anyone have any idea what a NSL shirt signed by the whole team would be worth? I know someone with one and am tempted to make an offer on it...

A bit concerned that we haven't signed anyone new at this late stage. Austerity and penny-pinching a bit too much methinks.
Let's hope [-o<

former Adelaide players abroad: Quote:Mathew Leckie started and played 73 minutes for FSV Frankfurt in the 2-0 loss to 1. Bundesliga outfit Mainz 05 but bruised a metatarsal in the process.
The former Adelaide United forward was a constant threat down the flank and provided numerous opportunities for Michael Gorlitz and Edmond Kapllani. However, some poor finishing and superb keeping kept Frankfurt goalless.
[quote]Robbie Cornthwaite was suspended and Matt Simon was not in the squad as Busan I’Park defeated Chunnam Dragons 3-2. Quote:Injury also prevented Nathan Burns from playing in Incheon United’s surprise 3-2 win over FC Seoul. Quote:Milan Susak played a full match as Tianjin Teda drew 0-0 with Qingdao Jonoon. Quote:Former Adelaide United defender Daniel Mullen played the full 90 minutes of Dalian Aerbin’s 3-2 loss to Dalian Shide, while Rostyn Griffiths put in a full shift for Guangzhou R&F in the 1-0 win over Guangzhou Evergrande. Won't comment on the stuff about the $ part as I'm over it but I have a feeling the 2 South American players Cornes was referring too might be amongst the ones we know about and therefore won't happen. Hope they keep trying, surely a chance to play in the ACL QFs is good exposure for some of these guys.
