It's not the first time in League history that an assistant signed for the top job at another club the next year and seen out the year at the current club. Even head coaches swapping clubs. Matter of fact wasn't Adam O'brien a Roosters assistant last year before going to do the top job at Newcastle this year.

Panthers, Dogs and Barrett will just work out an agreement in regards to Panthers players and Barrett will do his job there and be on the phone to Hill to about Bulldogs business as he sees he needs to. I'll bet he;ll even be dropping into Belmore on the way to or from Penrith.

He was about the only shining light yesterday... in the backs..yes he got shoved into touch early but he was a gnat's hair away from burning the opposition off on that play. Alas Foran was about the only other back to raise a flicker. Our performance overall yesterday was quite good with the BIG but being 2 glaring errors which directly resulted in tries...neither error maker were under undue pressure. Mrs hates the football as much as I hate Big Brother but commented re the newsreader "How old is he...he looks about 10"

If you're worried about Barrett's situation with The Panthers in 2020, then it rules out as prospective coaches all current NRL coaches and assistants working in 2020.

Because they'd all be in the same boat, they'd all see out 2020 where they are. If you do find one that'd jump immediately he's probably not the sort you want.

Given Barrett hasnt come out and put out the whispers, id say he is signed and delivered and both he and our club are waiting for later in season to announce it.

He is not my first second or third choice but i will accept it as i reckon being an ex half he can change the way we play.

I am more impressed with what Georgallis did in 1 week with the variation in our play and the non fear of stepping outside the square on some plays.
Georgallis being an ex hooker, certainly got in the ear of JMK and got him looking for running opportunities.
JMK still looks for Tolman inside the 10m and this must be eradicated from his game. There are 2 ways to achieve this in the same way as you do a risk management assessment
1) Eliminate the risk (get rid of Tolman altogether)
2) Reduce the risk (stop fekking passing to him)

Was hoping Katoa would show more but alas he is not even worth mentioning again. Cant blame Pay for not trying him earlier.

Completely agree re Tolman. JMK must see him popping up in his nightmares.
The attack yesterday improved straight away when Tolman wasn't there jolting the attack. Why hasn't this been stopped by the coaching staff, i'll never know.  
Don't remember Georgallis being a hooker. He was a half, 5/8 and lock maybe. In his days we had real hookers.

Kent again claims that Anderson and Coorey met this week and declared a cease fire, but at the same time reckons one of them is signing up members to the Football Club to have the numbers for any future election. Take it as you will.

I'll note it's not the first report of the cease fire in the last few days so let's hope at least that part's true.

Lewis the puzzle?
Unlike some on here who think he is devoid of nous or creativity - i DO believe his sees things creatively and tries them - i prefer this to not trying but it is sometimes very costly- trouble is the execution of the long pass - he is confident too and despite not having played for 3 weeks or so was expected to run the ship with Foran and then without Foran. A hard ask in my opinion.

So use his great defence and good deep kick .
Warm him up to the speed of the passing game in first grade and allow him to use the short pass and keep the longer pass absent for the short term until NRL  speed/timing of his passes become consistent.

I would play Lewis as a left centre in Defence because we have a weekness in defence  there - i acknowledge his is no attacking centre.

In Attack i would  move him to  3 in as a ball playing forward  and so he can give a short ball to a Thompson or RFM as they roam wide to the left. He can then be  utilised as a kicker 3 or 4 in then he gets back to centre for D.

I do think he is a keeper and will  eventually make a true passing 5/8 (or a passing forward down the track) after receiving the ball from a dominant half who is developed/found

Lewis and Wakeham are the best kickers in this team. Lewis is fine at 5/8th but as you say needs a dominant halfback in the team. 

We dont make many metres in our sets of 6 so he is an absolute MUST in my opinion. 

Irrespective if he ranked 2nd or 5th in the halves, his kicking is the clear reason he must be selected if fit.
