i know its still awhile away and I posted this on the clubs facebook page but it will be really good if we can get a few numbers over for West Sydney away on Friday December 21st.
Parramatta stadium, plenty of hotels around 2-3 blocks away from the stadium, you could all make a weekend of it. It will be awesome if we can get over 100 for a non-melbourne away trip. It will be holidays, you would be all back before Christmas, I hope we fill up our entire away bay.
It won't matter if your north or south active support, north end, west end, east end or south end it will be great if we can get a decent away support here.
Bring on the new season, doing my first Victory away game this year.

With some major changes in circumstance happening I am hoping to get to some away games this year, targets will be MV away, WSW away, BR away and PG away.

Okay, so I was a little bit annoyed this morning to read the Daily telegraph story that took its guts from an email originating at AU. I wrote to the club on redoutloud "Does the club set out to embarrass us Reds fans intentionally or are you just becoming better at it with time? In 4 months of this off season alone: 1. the Dexter fiasco 2. a club song? This is not the AFL - one of the options had better be 'No club song at all ever'. The fans already have a song we sing when we win at home. 3. Today's(10Aug12) article in the Sydney Daily Telegraph - How about you guys put the megaphone away and sort out the issues between the clubs and Head Office like responsible men, not children. As you can see, it was your standard whine from a fan email.
Imagine my surprise to receive the following reply within an hour:
Thanks XXXXXX,
1. Recruiting : New additions to the Club are sound. The Dexter issue has been addressed. The Club has restructured our Football Department to have a designated List[Recruiting] Manager, this reduces the reliance on Agents.Whilst recruiting will never be an exact science, we will be in control of our own destiny with this structure.
2. Club Song : Request came from members, we followed through to simply explore options. If there was such an option it would go back to the members
3. Daily Telegraph : will forward your feedback to the Chairman
Trust this helps
Regards Glenn Elliott
Apart from the shock of actually receiving an email reply to my snippy and sadly a bit childish initial missive, I am actually impressed. Did 'we' ask for a club song? I don't remember that. Good to know it wont be forced upon us though.

If Fabio has signed, then our squad is filled. I'm wondering how we fit all 3 new signings into the ACL squad...

I'd say that's a fair assumption but I don't think that's a very professional way of going about it. I'm pretty sure there's someone on the books to do the "media". Either they're on leave or there's a lot of freecell getting played in the office.

Nic Kerber is the media dude at the club, and his release was posted on goalweekly.com, so I have no idea why it hasn't been uploaded to the club's official website.

I also got an email reply from redoutloud, I think it depends on whether the question may be pertinent to other fans and how much of a douche you have made of yourself ;)

I have had this trip penciled in since the draw was released. If WSW are half as successful in the stands as the pre-season buzz suggests, this could be a cracking atmosphere away trip. Edited by vanbasten88: 11/8/2012 08:46:07 AM

for anyone that missed it... Quote:After arriving in Weifang on Saturday, Adelaide United’s young squad spent time acclimatising and adapting to the humid conditions in the lead up to the first game.
The team’s ability to adjust and gel together was more than evident in their first game as they put four past Shandong Youth in a 4-1 score line.
The score could have been more as the boys from Adelaide hit the woodwork on a number of occasions, including in the opening minute. It was a dominant display as the Reds gave the team from Shandong little chance to settle or get into a rhythm.
United Youth’s next match is against Villarreal before their final group game against the Chinese Youth Team.
Match Details Shandong Luneng Youth 1 Adelaide United FC 4 (Nicola Mileusenic 6', Stefan Cali 36', Awer Mabil 48', Jacob Melling 89')
Starting line-up: 1.John Hall (gk), 2.Shaun Harvey (Evan Ramos 79'), 3.Scott Nagel, 5.Stefan Cali, 6. Jacob Melling, 7.John Karatzas (Anthony Trimboli 75'), 10.Awer Mabil (Bruce Kamau 72'), 11.Dion Kirk, 13.Jordan Elsey, 17.Nicola Mileusenic (Giuseppe Pacillo 88')
Substitutes not used: 4.Jake Halliday, 15.Thomas Dickson, 18.Joseph Tripodi, 20.Stavros Grafyadel http://www.footballaustralia.com.au/adelaideunited/news-display/Weifang-Cup--update-1/48541
