Former Adelaide United coach Rini Coolen has been granted an urgent trial in his contract dispute with the club.

Coolen launched legal proceedings in Adelaide's District Court after being demoted to youth coach and eventually parting ways with Adelaide United last December.

He was 18 months into a four-year contract.

The Dutchman claims he is owed a $370,000 salary for each season remaining on his contract as well as other benefits.

Coolen is now on a tourist visa which expires in January after his employment visa expired last month.

Master Mark Rice said because Mr Coolen was unemployed with no income and would be forced to leave the county within months, special reason existed to grant a priority trial between November and January.
The matter will return to court next month to fix a trial date

Kosmina excited about Jeronimo addition

Quote:
With a name like ‘Jeronimo’, it is easy to see how new Reds signing Jeronimo Morales Neumann could quickly become a crowd favourite at Hindmarsh.

The second of two Argentineans to commit to the Reds in the space of a week, Morales Neumann is arguably already gathering somewhat of a cult following purely for his name before he has kicked a ball at his new club.

But while there may be excitement amongst fans and media alike being able to yell out his name, Reds Coach John Kosmina believes the 26 year old from the Argentine town of Godoy Cruz has the potential to make his mark with what he can offer on the field.

Name aside, Kosmina admitted the Reds were fortunate to discover Jeronimo when going through their list of possible foreigners. However, the thing that surprised Kosmina even more was Jeronimo’s willingness and desire to make the move to Australia without the demands of wanting a heavy pocket.

“Jeronimo is a great name isn’t it…and I was really impressed with him with the type of player that he is,” Kosmina said.

“He’s got some versatility as well. We don’t have a player in the squad quite like him. I couldn’t tell if he was naturally left or right footed, he’s really comfortable on both sides of his body and a very good finisher, so it gives us some depth in front of goals.”

Goals are something the Reds lacked in large quantities last season as they scored the least of any team in the league, and while Morales Neumann’s stints at previous clubs do not boast huge goal tallies, there is a sense that he could well contribute to helping United find the back the net more often in 2012/13.

The Argentine, who ironically has played alongside United’s other South American recruit Marcelo Carrusca at Estudiantes, is expected to arrive in Adelaide in the coming days where he will undergo a medical examination.

We're re badging and re launching the roundtables as their own show concentrating on the issues off the pitch around football in Australia and around the globe. We are going to be having a regular rotating 3 person panel with an additional guest panelist for each show. We are also looking at doing fan commentaries as well so you can listen to that rather than the Fox commentators for games :)
